I love the layout and design of the space even though it is small compared to others. Receptionists are awesome and helpful when you need something. Their slogan of Getting Sh! t Done is a great motivator, and definitely helps a person get on his/her grind. They even have a device lab! Basically, it’s a small room that has a buttload of different devices according to model and operating system for renters to test and evaluate their product. As a digital designer, it is worth to rent this spot just to make sure your website, app, coupon or whatever appears as intended across all platforms.

The only way this place could’ve been better is if they’d baked a cake for me. Kallie at the front desk is there right when you walk off the elevator, very helpful and accommodating. Ask her if they’ve gotten a new batch of «Get Sh*t Done» stickers in yet to put on your laptop. The space feels more like a funky down-to-earth art gallery in Williamsburg than a traditional office, with lots of exposed brick and art on the walls. The place was just about pindrop silent the whole time, save for some quiet conversation or when people are getting something in the kitchen. I’m a Windows gal, but everyone else in the space had a Mac. Because the kitchen is in the main studio space, I found that this open layout it fosters conversations with new people you might not otherwise talk to, since no one can go escape to the kitchen like 99.9% of the other offices in the world. I set up shop for the day at the bar style table near the kitchen, which could be used as a standing desk, although it does have sturdy bar stools with backs. All of the copious outlets were inside of the table, hidden just underneath it. As for other seating arrangements, there are a few comfy armchairs, a long table bolted to one of the walls, and several regular long tables spread throughout as one would expect in a coworking space. The conference room faces everything, and is glassed off for sound privacy, with windows views of Dupont Circle area below. There are lockers for valuables, but these might be for members, I didn’t use them. If you need to do a conference call or simply have a private conversation, there is a one person phone room in the lobby, with a glass door and lots of noise-cancelling black foam all over the walls so you can be assured you won’t be bothering anyone. I went on the second Friday of the month, which is a free day for non-members like myself, at which they also have a catered free lunch for everyone. On the day I visited, they ordered dozens of different kinds of empanadas and sauces from Panna’s Gourmet, very tasty. The fridge(which has an ice cube & water dispenser, along with a little screen telling you the weather, temperature, date, time, and general news of the day in full color) is fully stocked with soda, beer(When I was there, it was Coke, Diet Coke, Hoegaarden, Amstel, and Heineken), as well as various condiments and milk for coffee. They have a fully functional espresso machine which you can operate yourself, or if you don’t know how, just ask another a member and they will likely be able to show you, at least they did for me. There’s also a regular coffee maker, as well as a beer tap, although I did not make use of the latter. The bathrooms are very clean, with bright colors(neon orange), natural wood accents, and some cheeky art things(picture of cartoon red lips for women’s room, mustache for men’s room). Oh, and did I mention there’s a ping pong table right around the corner from the bathrooms? I was working solo, but if you’re planning to go with a friend, this is a must! Someone even brought their dog to the game. Very cute!
