I’ve been coming here for massage treatment for many years, and they’re always good, regardless of the masseuse, but I’ve started requesting Valentin lately. Extremely relaxing, obviously experienced, professional, great release technique, just all-​around great massage. I’ve had hundreds of massages of all types all over the world and Valentin is among the best ever.

I went there for facial and complimentary make-​up refresher. Facial with Thao was great but the arrangement for make-​up refresher was so bad. It was scheduled at 9:30 and the receptionist asked me to wait 10 – 15 minutes. After 30 minutes nothing happened. The receptionist busy calling (why didn’t she do this earlier???) and said you know. this is complimentary, right? That is so low. At the end, I didn’t want to waste my time more so I left. For sure this place has ruined my mood and wasted my time. Bad service

I’ve been coming to this location for years. Located in beautiful Friendship Heights. They are always on time and ready no matter the time or day of my appt. This location can get crowded on Saturdays so I suggest coming early before the waiting and locker rooms are crawling with patrons and attendants.
Celine and Claire have been my go-​to aestheticians. Both are very quick, gentle, and conscientious. I have completed eyebrow and Brazilian waxes with them. I recommend them both.
I usually park on the street.

Terrible massage with Valentin. I had a migraine so I scheduled a deep tissue, as this as helped relieve migraines in the past. He did a lot of stretching. I told him I could handle a lot of pressure, and he told me my body did not need any more. I asked multiple times and he ignored me. He also said the muscles were fine and he could tell I work out. Every other massage I’ve had in the last ten years, the therapist has told me how many knots I have and how I need to come back often due to the severity! Due to an injury, I have not worked out in 9 months. I informed the front desk when I checked out, and was offered 15% off. I’m done with Red Door.

I am currently here for a pedicure and I am sorry to say that the experience is disappointing. Firstly the part of the chair where you rest your feet is unsecured and kept pushing into the person performing my pedicure so throughout the whole time I had to keep my legs bent in an awkward position to keep this from happening. Not fun and not at all relaxing.
Additionally throughout my whole pedicure I had to listen to the most annoying conversation between two employees in the back who talked about everything from buying lottery tickets to clothes shopping.
The pedicure was just okay.
I have certainly had a much better experience for less than half the price.

Wanted to show an update of how well my hair is doing under Sharon Blake’s expertise. I used to have very short, brittle, and dry hair. Since my initial visit in June 2015, my hair has transformed from being straightened every several days (relaxed hair), to now being straightened every 2 – 3 weeks by Sharon (hair has a keratin treatment in it now). I no longer do my own hair, as the style holds until I see her at my next visit. My hair is now healthy, soft and flowy, and not weighted down by products. Initially, the length of my hair was barely touching my shoulders and it is now several inches past my shoulders. This is the most length my hair has retained in a long time and I know it is completely due to Sharon taking care of my hair. Thank you, Sharon. You are truly amazing and appreciated.

Sharon Blake is by far the best hair stylist I have ever been to. I have corse hair and had been putting relaxers in my hair because I was tired of doing it. My hair was also dyed and had broken off peripherally. My hair was super dry, too porous, had a lot of breakage every time I combed it, and overall I was extremely unhappy with my hair. When I would do my own hair, I would wash it every 3^rd or 4^th day, and would put heat on my hair each time. When I went to other hair stylists they would over process my hair and when straightened my hair was either way too «greasy» or way too dry. When I went to Sharon she put a keratin treatment in my hair and since my first hair appointment my hair changed completely, as if I had never had problems with dry hair, breakage, porosity, etc. Since my first visit with Sharon, I have been going faithfully every two weeks and my hair is healthier, stronger, and a lot longer. In fact when I comb my hair I don’t have breakage. Zero. I also don’t have to style my hair in between hair appointments. My hair is softer, fuller, and shinier. And I actually get trims like I’m supposed to — I was the type to never ever get them. Finally to make the experience even better, Sharon doesn’t do other people’s hair simultaneously. Her full attention is on you as the client. Sharon is such a genuine, knowledgeable woman, and I am so happy to have found her.

I went for an 80 min massage and it was great however he only did 50min and when I complained they didn’t comp us but charged us for 50 min instead which is ridiculous since it was their fault. As I was leaving they changed their mind and comped me for the massage they are great in customer service!

Sharon is amazing! She has been cutting my hair for at least four years now and I haven’t gone to anyone else since the first cut Sharon gave me. I have short hair and often when people cut it they either 1. make me look like a boy or 2. give me a great haircut that looks awful when it starts growing out. But Sharon has given me fabulous cuts that last, every time. Plus she’s super nice. My whole family now all have their hair cut by Sharon (two girls ages 10 and 9; and one boy age 6). The kids love her because she’s nice and fun. And I love that her kids’ haircuts look just as beautiful as her adult cuts. I know Red Door is somewhat of a splurge, but Sharon is worth every penny. She listens to what you want and makes you look fabulous, I cannot say enough good things!

I love hair stylist Melissa. It is very difficult for me to find a hair stylist I’m satisfied with, but once I find them, I like to keep them. The very first time I saw Melissa was years ago. I came to her because whoever did my hair messed it up and I looked like a dark blond with some gray tone. Ugghh. Melissa was wonderful, she fixed the color of my hair to a beautiful natural looking blond and I walked out as a very happy woman. At my last visit, Melissa added some thin partial blond highlights to my shoulder length natural dark blond hair that are now beautifully mixed in to cover my gray hair that are starting to populate. Stylist Melissa is honest and gives you great advice if you are uncertain about cuts, colors, and styles. She is wonderful!

My massage with Jessica was the worst massage I ever had .
She was tentative and disinterested. When I have a massage I am usually sad for it to end. With Jessica I actually asked her the time. I could not wait to leave. Complete waste of my time and money

I went to get my wax twice with Celine. My first time was good, so I decided to come back but the second time she left a lot of hair. It wasn’t as good as the first time…

THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD. The staff does not know what they are doing. I showed up for my facial and they tell me my appointment was yesterday and I missed it. After arguing with them for 10 minutes, she comes back and tells me I am right the appointment is today… By the time they figured this out, it had already cut into my appointment time. So the lady took me back and got started, before I knew it the facial was over… She cut the Facial time from 30 minutes to 20 minutes. When I complained to the manager about it she was very rude and unaccommodating. She refused to reimburse me part of the fee for the poor service. I feel so ripped off. This experience has left such a sour taste in my mouth, I don’t think I will ever go back to a red door spa again.

I booked my appointment for 5. Ended at 6. They close at 6 and the moment i got out of the appointment i felt like i was being kicked out. People were scrambling around to clean, making noises cleaning dishes, etc. not relaxing. I also booked a body treatment with head massage and literally got a head massage less than 30 seconds long. Finally i try to leave the salon and the door is locked-​so i couldnt get out. I finally told one of the ladies that they shouldnt make customers feel this way. And she rolled her eye and walked Away closing the door to me. Sooo rude!

They never followed up on their previous correspondence. The massages are exorbitant and not as advertised if you want a deep tissue or anything other than a very light, «pretty» massage.
I would give them a zero, but that’s not an option.

Exactly five stars!!! I am an avid frequenter of spa’s and this location has won me over for the customer service, services (facial, waxing and pedicures) and products.
I’m raving more over my facial. This has to be best, I’ve ever encountered for a person who has many. It’s been several days and my skin is still glowing. After the second day, the results were even better than the first day. I will definitely frequent here for my facials every four weeks!

This is one of the older locations. The salon area is prettier than the building. The remodel is a giant improvement. The salon validates 2 hours of parking in the garage attached to the building. The receptionists are nice. Not all customer calls go directly to the salon. Overflow calls are routed to call center. I nearly missed a previous appointment at another location because I did not know I wasn’t speaking to the receptionist who could quickly communicate with the stylist that I was nearly there. The call center underestimates how long a treatment will take.
I have had haircuts, hair coloring, manicures and pedicures here. I was treated like a queen on most visits but I have had disappointments too. I had vowed I would not get my hair colored here anymore because two stylists didn’t notice all of the color wasn’t rinsed out before letting me leave the salon. This is the irony of what happened. The «apology visit» went from bad to worse. I didn’t know I was going to get beaten up with the olive branch.
I returned with a gift card from Red Door to give them another chance. I asked the stylist to limit the time I spent in the shampoo chair since I had back pain. The person washing my hair did not include me in her plan to «make things better for me.» Picture a plastic scarf tied on my neck. No matter how I was positioned, water and color were going to drip down my front and back. I could feel my clothes getting wet but I didn’t think about slowly accumulating black dye in addition to the water. When a customer asks for a towel & the employee sees water dripping on you, it is time to adjust your plan. I had dye on my neck, chest & face. I asked someone to help get it off. The situation was unfortunate & a manager I didn’t request only made things worse. The stylist, manager & shampoo person did not accept responsibility for my situation. I left with a nice haircut, a giant box of disappointment and stained clothing.
When things are going right, this is a place that can create a pampered moment and a great escape. It wasn’t my moment. Usually I have wanted to escape TO Red Door, not FROM the salon.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. The staff is phenomenal! Parking is convenient and it’s nearby the metro. It’s very easy to schedule an appointment no matter how crazy your schedule can be; trust me!
I’ve always go here for facials, waxing or massages. Every service exceptional!

This is my favorite location out of the other Red Door spas. I really feel comfortable here. I feel like I have a team of people to make my day better!

This was my first time at a Red Door, which I’ve avoided because I have a theory about chain «spas». It was spa week and I needed a facial to rejuvenate my skin after the long winter so I gave it a try. I was immediately greeted by very sweet woman to get the process started, good start.
Vivene, the esthetician, did a great job on my facial. I had more than a few extractions that were required on the nose. She was diligent and slowly released those clogged pores. I was suddenly shocked when she started removing some of the products with a cold cloth. I was instantly chilled when she proceeded to rub my neck and shoulders with the same cold cloth. The cool clothes were a first but the facial in itself was thorough and relatively painless. I went during spa week where the service was $ 50. Now if I had of paid the $ 130 the service was normally that might have erked me more.
But the three star really comes from the spa itself. Overall the place didn’t have the «spa» feeling. When I first came in I was escorted to the changing area, which was really a gym locker room. Two bathrooms stalls, two showers, one steam room, one sauna, a bench in the middle of the room and a row of lockers. I know it was a gym locker room because I walked by the gym before and after I changed. That’s right, you can picture it as you’re running on a treadmill you look out the window and BAM ladies walking around in bath robes.
I could definitely see this spa as a place you might go to when you don’t have time to relax but need some maintenance. The spa service itself is good and the location is convenient. But for their normal prices, you could go to a place that will transform the mind, body and soul not one where you’re sharing the space with hotel guests who need to use the gym.

(11÷16÷13) A spa day gift package led me to try the renowned Elizabeth Arden Red Door spa for my quarterly professional facial. Reviews were mixed but the Chevy Chase location had slightly better ratings. We parked in a nearby parking garage and took the steps up to the facility level. Once inside, we had more steps to climb. I didn’t see an elevator and wondered how the disabled or senior citizens would manage all the steps.
Check in was easy and the staff was cheerful and accommodating. I quickly changed into my comfy robe and slippers then retreated to the tranquility room. Their coed tranquility room was smaller & designed differently from my normal spa, which is fine, but seeing undressed men & women luxuriating in such close proximity was a little unnerving. I decided to stay in the sitting area and enjoy complimentary tea and cucumber water.
My esthetician (Angela) began her consultation and skin analysis. I chose the signature facial instead of essential (basic) because the products were better and more active. Angela used classic strokes, a gentle exfoliation, and gave me a hand and arm massage. Lovely! She kept me informed as she moved along until I fell asleep. She also gave home skin care advice and product recommendations but I didn’t feel pressured to buy anything.
Time for mani and pedi. Ms. Mae was my technician and she was wonderful. A woman of few words but I felt her good energy. She applied the right amount of pressure while massaging my hands and feet and did a great job polishing. The spa uses Essie polish but I brought my own. The only thing I didn’t like was the location of her station. It was right beside the spa’s all purpose room where workers constantly transported towels, techs retrieved supplies, and lots of foot traffic. I also smelled the chemicals the cosmetologists were using on their clients. I found it disruptive.
Beautiful facility & overall great pampering experience! My skin is clear, smooth, and refreshed.
