Ignore the haters on here. Sure, the produce sucks, but the people are awesome. They are friendly, helpful, and make you feel like part of the neighborhood. They remember you and actually make you want to go back. It’s simply astonishing to hear someone bad mouth the staff.

The staff is rude and unhelpful, the produce is frequently either so unripe it’s inedible or so old it’s rotten, the selection is minimal, they’re always out of basic items, and the whole place looks and feels unclean. It always takes forever to check out, generally 15 – 20 minutes waiting time, but I’ve waited up to 30 before. You think maybe you’ll stop by to shop in the morning or late at night so as to skip the crowds and thus get out of there faster? Nope, when you do that you find out they’ve only got 3 lanes open so the wait time is exactly the same. Unfortunately sometimes I just have to come here. It sucks the joy out of grocery shopping, which is usually one of my favorite errands. The only up side is that they’re open 24 hours a day, but considering the quality of this place, that really only means that you can treat yourself to an awful experience any time of day or night.

I dread coming to this place every week. There is almost always a crazy long line in that store. I have waited 30+ minutes multiple times on a Sunday to get through the checkout line. They are frequently out of common things like chicken breasts and ground beef. Staff is short, sometimes rude and often«ghetto» at times. I wish that I could go elsewhere but it’s the only grocery store in Columbia Heights. Ughhhhhhh
