Anybody who’s been up Wisconsin Avenue in Georgetown recently knows that there are a slew of men’s clothiers along the first few blocks north of M each one claiming to have cheaper suits than the last. The problem is, most of these places only have suits that Deion Sanders would wear, and then you’re lucky to find one that fits you — unless you’re a size 46L, 39.5“W or something weird like that.
Not the case at Giovanni. They had nice, standard suits in normal sizes for good prices. The guy who helped me, was everything a suit salesman should be: helpful, flattering, a little overbearing, with just a tinge of creepiness. There were two suits which I liked, both on sale for $ 250 each. I managed to get out with both for $ 400. He recommended a tailor nearby and even walked us down the street and into the shop.
