I have some great memories of coming here with my late mother. She used to love going to farmer’s markets here and abroad. I like to support local businesses too. I came here recently to the last market the Saturday before Thanksgiving and the experience was very pleasant. We got some nice produce to use in our Thanksgiving meal. Also there are chairs here to sit down and listen to the gentleman play guitar which reminded me of a character from the TV show, Nashville.

I absolutely adore this farmers’ market. Despite its tiny size(only takes about 5 minutes to skim all the stalls), there is enough variety and a lot of high quality items. I can never leave without 2 giant bags of, I dunno, stuff. This, of course, starts with buying iced coffee from Café Los Santos, and the über-buttery almond croissants from Bonaparte bakery. Spring Valley always has excellent peaches, apples, and various veggies, all for not too expensive. If you don’t have the patience for Dupont madness, but want the same goods, come here. Anything they do sell at the Dupont market but not at this one, like the fresh mozzarella, you can get the same brand at Whole Foods. Or the Dolcezza gelato, you can get at Dolcezza on Wisconsin. You can even bring your leashed dogs, which makes this seem like a weekly neighborhood block party. Wait, don’t come here, I don’t want the secret to get out!

Nice peaceful little stroll. Not much else can be said. Not the best items always, but a cool way to spend an hour on a sunny afternoon just the same.

There is a lot of cute dogs and happy families. Parking was really easy! There’s a coffee stand so you can shop and have your morning coffee all at once. There is more than just produce — sausage, meats, ice cream, cheese, and flowers.

Can’t wait for the return of the market —- our favorite place to be on A Saturday morning! Coffee, croissants, fresh produce, live bluegrass, adorable kids, friendly dogs & neighbors… it gets the weekend off to just the right start and keeps things yummy in our kitchen all week long:-)

I love this farmer’s market. Great vibe & super-friendly vendors. The produce is excellent. I look forward to going every week! And it’s right on the 30 buses and the D2 route… so even if you don’t live within walking distance, just hop on a bus.

I cannot say enough good things about the farmers market. Not only is it a true local product, and not a corporate operation like Freshmarkets, but it truly anchors the community/neighborhood of glover park. The produce is terrific, the farmers and other venders are friendly and you can learn about them, their operations and what to expect from them, and the variety of what is for sale — from veggies, fruits, meats, baked god, plants, cheese, flowers — is really impressive for what is not a huge market. Add to that the fact it is dog friendly, kid friendly and, well, just plain friendly. It is what I look forward to most every weekend. Oh yeah, did I mention it is used to fund a non-profit to promote far, m education in DC schools and to bring better produce options to schools and inner-city neighborhoods? Eat well, do good. sounds like a deal to me,
