So me and my man were really excited to go to this place after having seen it in the food network. I had been there a few years ago, and remembered it being the bomb(like 5 stars). We went on Sat night and it was the worst eating experience that we have both had. The food was literally thrown together like they didn’t care, both of our burgers suffered from split personality disorders, one side bland, one side so salter my bf spat it out. The fries we even worse. The staff were too busy making noise and having fun, they seemed to not care about what they were there to do. This is my 1st time writing a review. Buyer beware!

Delicious burgers and fries. I would skip the onion rings, but overall a juicy and delicious burger with fresh cut and tasty fries.

I think the burgers here are exceptional. The service was fast and the price can’t be beat on The Hill. I don’t care for the french fries. My burger was a lot pinker than I would care for. I had several people in my group from lunch make that comment. I would suggest asking them to cook it done if you do not like your burgers pink/rare. I would go here again.

I’m so grateful I no longer live across the street from this place… I might be 300 lbs. Their toasted marshmallow milkshakes are OUTOFTHISWORLD. I’ve tried pretty much every milkshake in the city, and at this restaurant(guilty) and toasted marshmallow wins hands down. Place can get crowded, menu is really fun for tourists… I personally like their chicken patty better than their burger… Every burger I’ve ordered has always been too cooked and you can get grilled chicken instead of burger meat on any of their burgers. Highly recommend for first-timers to DC, or anyone looking for a sinful treat.

Ordered the Prez Obama burger($ 7.25) and fries. Honestly, the burger was so tiny and I dont know if it was worth the price. But I do admit that it was pretty delicious. Meat was juicy and cooked perfectly. Fries were good, perfect amount of salt and flavor. Loved how there were different types of dipping sauces especially the sriracha mayo! There’s a seating area upstairs so my friends and I(group of 10) were able to find a long table to sit down and eat comfortably. Quiet laid back atmosphere! I would come back but I wouldn’t have cravings for it.

3.5 stars overall, 2 stars for service. The burgers are what you come here for. This is a no-frills place that sits like a cafeteria and the pizzeria next door gives the air a smell of tomatoes. Do not be daunted, friend! The place is worth the trek from the metro! — ample street parking nearby though. Service is brusque and bordering on unfriendly. I ordered a Spike’s Sunnyside, and my partner a Prez Obama burger. The bacon on mine felt a little excessive, but damn if the egg was not perfect inside. In fact, I think I want all of my burgers from here on out to be more like this. You need napkins, but I am happy to report that the burger is finger-licking good. The portion sizes are large for a person like me, and left me very happy(and heavy) in the belly as a result. I can’t speak to the Prez Obama burger, because we both were entirely absorbed with our own burgers. From her happy humming and ability to be a member of the clean-plate club, I’d wager that she liked hers as much as I liked mine. Their fries are also excellent. The right amount of frying and salt to my taste, and makes for a perfect addition into the burger. Would recommend, would return.

I’m pretty indifferent about Good Stuff’s burgers(mostly because I’m not usually a burger eater; too much bun), but my love for their milkshakes and village fries makes up for this minor issue. I also get a full flight of condiments… highly recommended move.

Service here was exceptional. The staff were professional but boy did this group have synergy! No they didn’t look like best friends but they all did their jobs without a drop of annoyance or cynicism toward each other or the customers. High five! Good stuff eatery is like… the clothing store Free People or Francesca’s meets The Dizz(in Baltimore). Solid food, clean uppity urban atmosphere, slightly inflated prices. The burger names are certainly fun. I had the herb fries… Rosemary…they were delicious and simple enough they I was able to completely replicate the experience at home. The milkshakes were pretty good. I’m not a milkshake fan but my hubby says comparatively they were the bomb. Toddler approved by #thelittlebells Spent $ 50 for a bunch of burgers fries and milkshakes. Can I just speak to this neighborhood!!! Wow, DC is catering to a whole new crowd now a days. Just wild to see.

I first gave Good Stuff Eatery a 3 because after many years in DC and many, many, many visits to Good Stuff, I am a little over it. But even after dozens of visits, it still is a DC classic for a very good reason. It really is good stuff. I always get village fries and the President Obama burger and Cherry Coke. They have flavored mayo and the sirachi is amazing(as is the chipotle). I take tourists here and they always fall deeper into love with DC afterwards. If you have room for dessert, get the famous toasted marshmallow milkshake. I am not a fan of milkshakes, but even I think it’s good!

Good stuff indeed. I do enjoy Good Stuff eatery, they offer exactly what you need when you are looking to have a major«cheat day». The burgers are cooked perfectly and are thicker than your usual fast-food patty. The milkshakes pair perfectly with anything you order, and are very thick(but still easy to sip) and delicious. The village fries, which have rosemary and salt are my favorite part of the eartery & they offer many dipping options such as mango mayo and old bay. The only real miss for me(which kept this place at «good», and not«great») was the price. If you plan to get a burger, fries and a milkshake prepare to spend just under $ 20.

I ordered cheeseburger and really liked it. They have different sauces which adds much more flavor to your burger. I love the mango sauce! This is one of the best burger places around!

Good stuff fries are what French fry dreams are made of. Their«village fries» have Rosemary, thyme and maybe another herb, the likes of which don’t necessarily matter because they’re absolutely heavenly. I think I could eat a «large» fry by myself. It doesn’t seem that large after all! Now, their milkshakes are also soon to be in my dreams. I asked a manager from the good stuff stuff situation room(yes, according to the sign on the upstairs door, there really is a situation room required to pull this production together) and he reported that frozen custard is the secret used to obtain that famously thick, creamy texture that made my shake experience so heavenly. Trust me, even the whipped cream was so thick and amazing that I thought it too was ice cream! We tried the seasonal peppermint flavor and their classic toasted marshmallow. My tip — mix the marshmallow up a bit to really get that toasted flavor throughout. As for my turkey burger, it wasn’t anything special. Since I’m not a beef eater, I don’t like eating«beefy turkey» or turkey that’s been cooked too close to the beef, and perhaps even in the same oil. I’d suggest they keep their meats separate. They are after all different meats. Finally, the ambiance is light and cheery. I loved eclectic look of the place — a bit barnyard chic. The upstairs seating is somewhat limited, but comfortable. Thankfully, there are options for those not wanting to be in front of a television. During rush periods, I wouldn’t dine-in at all; seating would be at too much of a premium. (*Note, even though seating is a bit limited, there are long, family style tables available for large families/groups of perhaps 12 or so. Excellent for the DC area!) Finally, they provide trays to conveniently carry your condiments, beverages and utensils upstairs while waiting for your food. We all appreciated this simple, but thoughtful planing idea.

If you like burgers, this may be your Mother Ship. We had a group of about a dozen people, and we all ordered different burgers. They were… Tasty, messy, delicious, juicy, flavorful, decadent, outrageously unique, and ah-maze-ing. I had the one with an egg on it, and frankly I was practically licking that sunny side from my elbows — it was so deliciously runny. The fries are salty — like pucker up salty — and they are liberal with salt on the burgers too. Unless you like salt licks, no need to add any extra to anything you order because the cooks add more than enough. They’re cooking with sea salt here — ’nuff said. If you need a juicy over the top burger, welcome home. Lunch rush is busy though, and seating is limited. So be ready to devour that lunch and make room for the next burger fanatic or find another spot to take your time and savor that burger. Either way, it’s totally worth it, and you’ll be back to try another burger flavor bomb.

BESTBURGERJOINT I’ve ever been to. I usually go to Shake Shack or Five Guys for a quick burger stop, but Good Stuff Eatery is definitely on my top list. I wish they had a spot in Jersey!!! Totally enjoyed the Colletti’s Smokehouse Burger — cooked medium well(love!), with a huge fried onion, bacon, topped with cheese and bbq sauce. So delicious! And I ordered the soursop hop strawberry shake and that whipped cream is so addictive! Just thinking about it makes me want a burger. Missin DC so much! Closest spot to me will be in Philly… can’t wait to go one day! :)

Last year, this was the first place I went when I arrived to DC. This year, this was my last stop before I went to Union Station. I highly recommend the Obama burger and Spike Village fries. The burger was delicious and prepared to perfection. It was well seasoned and juicy. There were many sauces for the fries… chipotle, mango, old bay and Sriracha. I also ordered the toasted marshmallow shake. Yummy! It was basically vanilla ice cream shake with 3 marshmallows. Delicious! I would definitely come back again.

I’m usually good about eating my packed lunch, but my coworkers invited me out to Good Stuff Eatery and I’m so glad that I joined. There are three locations in the DC/VA area — Capitol Hill, Georgetown, and Crystal City. I ordered the Good Stuff Melt(melted cheddar and muenster, mmm!) combo with fries and a drink and devoured every little bit of it. With fries, you can also grab specialty sauces(Old Bay, chipotle mayo, and good ol’ ketchup) to go along with it. Ordering was quick, the food came out within 15 minutes, and there were a few seats available throughout the restaurant. I must’ve came in on an off day because I had no issues with the wait or timing of the food. I missed out on the Toasted Marshmallow shake but I’ll definitely try it out soon since it’s not too far from work.

On my continuing quest to find my favorite burger in DC, I came and got the Prez Obama Burger, Village Fries, and a toasted marshmallow shake. But let’s start with the general vibe. Good Stuff Eatery has ample seating upstairs, with a few bar stools downstairs(although there is no actual bar) and outside seating in front of the restaurant. Plenty of options. The upstairs area, where I sat, is interesting because it has almost a sports bar feel, until you note that political news is on all the TVs and you are reminded that you are in Capitol Hill. The Prez Obama burger comes with an onion marmalade that is good but a bit overbearing and greasy, Roquefort cheese that works well, and a nice horseradish mayo sauce. It comes by default with applewood bacon, but I skipped this since I don’t eat pork. The burger itself is good, though not mind-blowing, and it was pretty undercooked. I don’t take mine well-done, but this patty was legitimately quite bright on the inside, and they don’t ask you how you would like it cooked when you order(a sad departure for boutique burger shops in the District). Like most of their burgers, it comes in a somewhat sloppy package, so focus more on the taste than presentation. Spike’s Village Fries are FANTASTIC! Cut to be nether too thin nor too thick, and with a healthy topping of thyme and rosemary. I’m always down for fries with rosemary, so I was already smiling. They are complimented by six or eight different sauces that you can choose from(or choose all of), including chipotle, Old Bay, and mango. The toasted marshmallow shake was deeeelicious. And yep, it tastes just like marshmallows roasted over a campfire! On the whole, I would take Burger Tap & Shake over TKO Burger over this place, but I definitely am not against returning and trying, oh, the Michelle turkey burger.

My wife has been wanting to go here. The first time wasn’t great because the hunger just wasn’t tasty and one of the ingredients just didn’t suit well with our taste buds so I didn’t write a review at first because we wanted to give it another chance. So we did. And we’re still disappointed. It’s only getting three stars because the shakes are amazing. Both times we were here, the wait was too long. After getting our burgers and tasting them, the wait was definitely not worth it. The cashier doesn’t ask you how you want your burger so you get it as is. As is meaning still pink and a little bit bloody. I don’t have anything against that for my steak. However I like my burgers well done. The burger and fries were also very greasy. It was pretty ridiculous. I don’t waste food and it took me a while to finish it because I had to keep wiping the grease off of my mouth and fingers. Not cool.

They call it the… PREZOBAMABURGER…$ 7.25…Applewood Bacon, Onion Marmalade, Roquefort Cheese & Horseradish Mayo Sauce… I don’t know how healthy it is, but it was really damn good! The fries and unique dipping sauces are awesome too Unfortunately, it was bit sloppily made… maybe the chef was a Tea Party Republican… hopefully I get a Democrat next time!

Burger, fries and a milkshake. What’s not to like? I was surprised there wasn’t much of a wait to order and we easily snagged seats outside on a beautiful spring day. Here’s the run down: SPIKE’S SUNNYSIDE — 5, tastes like breakfast, nice medium GOODSTUFFMELT — 5, my boyfriend was so happy after eating this, also cooked medium Toasted Marshmallow Shake — 4, at first, I was a little disappointed as I expected something more smore-like but my boyfriend pointed out to me that it’s called marshmallow. We liked it quite a bit but I wish the marshmallow flavor was even more potent as vanilla was the strongest flavor in the mix. Spike’s Village Fries — 4, good but too too salty! The sea salt was giant and plentiful. The various sauces helped alleviate this(mango was my fav). Overall 4.5 — rounding up bc I was craving this meal the next day!
