Generous 2. This place pales in comparison to 5 guys, z burger and ESPECIALLY shake shack. My burger was in disarray and I had to rearrange it before eating. It also looked like it fell on the floor and was squished with a boot. The fries were tiny, limp, greasy nuggets of disappointment. No amount of rosemary and thyme could make up for how crappy these fries are. i don’t get the hype

I stopped by for a late lunch with a friend while walking Georgetown. I took advantage of their«Good stuff deal» which is your choice of any burger plus a snack fry and either a soda or a mini shake. I ordered the farmhouse cheeseburger, which is a simple cheeseburger with american cheese, along with the snack fry and a mini toasted marshmallow shake. I highly recommend the toasted marshmallow shake. The entire shake actually tasted like a toasted marshmallow. The shake was creamy, but doesn’t leave you with the heavy feeling some milkshakes give you after you’ve had the entire thing. 5 stars. The farmhouse cheeseburger patty was great. I also enjoyed the Good stuff sauce that’s within the burger, however, the sauce made the bun kind of soggy. Overall, still a pretty average burger for $ 6.75. The cheeseburger patty is fresher than Shake Shack’s for a higher price, but it is slightly less expensive than what you would pay for at a restaurant, especially in Georgetown. 3 stars. The fries disappointed me the most. They were soggy and not crispy. However, the fries weren’t overly salty and they give you a large amount, which boosts them up to a 2.5 stars for the fries. TLDR: Looking for a fast food burger joint while strolling through Georgetown? Yes, this is a good place to try. Toasted marshmallow shake is a can’t miss.

Picked up dinner here tonight and I think I made the mistake of not paying attention to what Unilocalers recommended, instead buying what sounded best to me. I tried the Blazin Barn burger, mini Vietnamese coffee shake, and village fries. Total was about $ 15. The burger was okay but definitely underwhelming– it was overcooked and the toppings were too tangy and did not add anything to the experience. I will say that the bun was yummy! But the bun should not be the highlight of a burger and in this case it sadly was… The shake was good and creamy but just tasted like a straight up vanilla shake; I did not taste even a hint of coffee in it! Definitely another let down. The highlight of the meal by far was the fries. They were generously covered in thyme and rosemary and I loved the assortment of unique dipping sauces(like mango mayo) to choose from(there is a bar of several sauces to the left of the register area when you walk in). Overall, I was definitely underwhelmed with my experience here. I would come back again for the fries, but there are better options for burgers and dessert in the area.

After seeing a small, gray roach crawling up the wall in the upstairs eating area this summer at the Eastern Market location, I had to stop going to get my favorite(gluten free!) fries and delicious, thick shakes. But when I was in G’town earlier this week, I poked my head in to see how this location is. It was a welcome respite from the rain, clean and so much less chaotic than the Eastern Market/Cap Hill location that I am usually closer to. Delicious fries, solid burger. No six-leggers.

My boyfriend and I were viewing the Georgetown Glow light displays this past Friday and decided to stop in here for dinner on the cheap. Of course I verified on Unilocal despite the low prices, I could still expect a decent meal and believe me, neither of us were disappointed! Good Stuff is very no frills-you order at the counter, you get a buzzer that goes off when it’s time to pick up your food, and you get your own sauces and soft drinks. The guy that took our order was super friendly and patient when we started to order and then reversed course and decided to order something different. There is seating upstairs but it’s not a lot of space. They do have some TVs up there. From simple observation, this place does a heavy to-go business, which given the lack of seating options, makes sense. Our food didn’t take too long and came out hot and fresh. I ordered a good stuff melt, consisting of melted cheddar and muenster, caramelized onions, mushrooms, and good stuff sauce. For $ 7, this was an awesome burger! My only complaint would be I had too many toppings and they kept falling off the patty but that’s so minor, probably not even worth mentioning. I loved the melty gooiness of the cheeses and the burger was well seasoned too. My boyfriend ordered the Spike’s Sunnyside, consisting of Applewood smoked bacon, cheddar, and a fried egg with good stuff sauce. He said all of the flavors were on point and he really enjoyed his burger! We both did a meal deal where for $ 5(give or take) you can add a mini milkshake and a snack size fries to your order. The snack size fries were huge! We both opted for the fries with thyme, rosemary, and sea salt(the Village fries). The combination of thyme and rosemary really made for an appealing, unique flavor. Make sure you stop at the sauce bar downstairs-I am STILL dreaming about that delicious mango sauce I used with my fries. I also tried the siracha(which I found more wasabi tasting), the chipotle(which had a nice kick to it), and the horseradish but by far the favorite sauce of ours was the Mango. The mini milkshakes were the perfect size after a full burger and fries. I chose the milky way malt and he chose the black and white. I tried his and it was ok, rather plain though-a vanilla shake with just a tad bit of hot fudge mixed in. Mine was phenomenal! It tasted –as the name would suggest– just like a milky way bar! I also tasted some salty caramel in there and really enjoyed that flavor profile. I would come back here just to try another shake, but since I thoroughly enjoyed my burger too, I really think the whole meal deal is the way to go here!

Great burger joint! I endured in the Big Stuff Bacon Meltdown. It did not disappoint! The double patties were just enough to put this burger over the top. Let’s just say this was my only meal for the day… lol Definitely get the marshmallow milkshake to complement the calories of the burger. I mean why not?! Good atmosphere and location. Will definitely come here again.

As a burger master of some sorts, I can attest that this place serves some of the best burgers in the nation. The juicy patties are paired with the freshest veggies and condiments. Their French fries are golden brown with exciting flavors that make eating a meal here pleasurable. The shakes are awesome as well. The décor of the restaurant is appealing and is kept clean. So would I eat here again? YES.

Best burger in the area. Well worth the price of 8 bucks or so. The juiciness of the burger is some next level stuff. I don’t even have to use any condiments on my burger(except the special sauce that already comes on it, which is a delicious chipotle mayo btw), so that’s when I know it’s top quality. The fries are killer as well, and paired with some of that chipotle mayo like I was talking about, and you’re in heaven. I don’t really care for the atmosphere of this place; it’s all upstairs seating and it just feels really isolated. But if you just want an excellent burger, look nowhere else!

**Burger = 3.5 Stars** Good Stuff keeps me coming back for their sauces and shakes. Their mango sauce is super addictive, it’s my must have dipping sauce with my fries. This burger joint may not be the best for burgers, but it’s an great option to stop by in if you’re looking for a quick bite in the city. Good Stuff is best categorized as mid-tier in the fast food chain. Decided to take a trip to Georgetown on a Sunday(to avoid paying for parking) and needed a quick bite before walking around the area. I ordered Spike’s Sunnyside burger with a side Spike’s Village Fries to share with my boyfriend. We both liked the burger, bun is soft,(similar to a sweet potato bread consistency) and the meat was cooked perfectly. Burger kicks it up a notch than the average burger with their special sauce. Nothing to complain about the fries except next time I would choose hand cut fries instead, did not care for the abundant thyme and rosemary thrown in with my fries. It was something different to try, but I would prefer fries + salt + mango sauce, that’s all you need for this delicious side item!

I will start by saying that this place is all hype. I was super excited to try this place after passing it by every time I’m in Georgetown. But… sadly, it did not do too much for me. 3 stars for excellent service because the guy at the counter had a lot of patience for our family of 5 who did not know what to get but not giving full 5 because of the food part. My family and I waited only about 10 minutes to order our food, which was surprising since it was 1 pm on a Friday. But who’s complaining? Just glad it wasn’t any longer like a lot of other people are saying about the wait. Ordering is simple, just go through the line, order with the cashier and they will buzz you with the buzzer(beeper?) when your food is ready. When you wait, you can check out some of their sauces located next to the soda machine. My favorite was the chipotle and the mango sauce. Great dip for your fries! Colletti’s smokehouse was the burger I decided to order — bacon, onion rings and bbq sauce. Simple and what’s better than bacon and onion rings? I took a bite and thought eh, what’s the big deal? It tasted like something from Red Robin. The patty wasn’t juicy, it was quite small like a cheeseburger from Mickey D’s and it really wasn’t that good. My uncle got the Blazin’ Barn and he said they could have put more vegetables. It’s a burger with daikon and carrots with thai basil and spicy mayo. It didn’t wow him either. The only thing I really enjoyed was the village fries with thyme, rosemary and sea salt. I could have ate those dang fries all day long. It was a bit on the greasy side but what’s some fries without grease. I wish they would also put a soda machine upstairs so lazy people like me would not have to walk up and down the stairs to gets more to drink. Kind of annoying. I know it’s probably because they don’t want people who get water cups to not get soda but still. High expectations, huge let down. Maybe it was a bad day? Who knows. I’m always down to try it again, definitely will try something else on the menu. Might have to try the famous shakes also. But for now, I’ll stick to 5 guys for a cheaper and better burger.

I recently went to Good Stuff and had a less than enjoyable experience. First, do not go to this place during a busy lunch or dinner time especially on the weekends! The line is ridiculous and expect to wait awhile for your food to come out. I ordered the colletti’s smokehouse burger and at the register the server failed to tell me that this burger supposedly took longer to make. It wasn’t until I had been waiting 20 minutes for my food that I was told this, how ridiculous is that? I wouldn’t have ordered the burger in the first place if that were the case! On the other hand, the staff was apologetic and gave me extra fries although it calmed me down for the moment, I still did not leave a happy customer. Overall their food is pretty good. Their burgers are juicy but smaller in size. Their milkshakes are fresh and thick just like I like it! They also have an eclectic choice of dipping sauces which are tasty. Good stuff could be a good choice if you are in the area and the line is short however, if this is the case I would not bother.

This was my first trip to «The District» and I came here based on a friend’s recommendation of what she thought was the best burger in town. I was initially hesitant to go because the burgers don’t look that appetizing, but this is definitely one of those«don’t judge a book by its cover» scenarios. Since I was on vacation and my diet was an afterthought, I ordered the biggest burger they had. A Big Stuff Bacon Meltdown burger, which consists of two beef patties, bacon, double cheese, ruby tomato, onions, lettuce, and pickles. The burger’s presentation was lackluster to say the least, but damn was it delicious! Although it wasn’t the best burger that I’ve ever had, I will say that it was top tier. I also ordered Spike’s Village Fries. It was unique because I’ve never had fries that were seasoned with thyme, rosemary, and sea salt, but it tastes amazing. They have a station which has a bunch of sauces that you can try with your fries. I really enjoyed the chipotle and mango sauces. You will want to get fries just so you can sample each sauce. Trust me. Good Stuff Eatery is a solid burger joint. It’s the triple threat: cheap, delicious, and filling. I highly recommend it if you are looking for something to eat in the area.

Cute burger joint in the heart of Georgetown! My sister recommended I try this place and I’m glad I did. The burgers here have unique names and I like that the menu clearly displays what is in the burger and the prices. They have options of sides to choose from; such as Sunny’s Handcut Fries(regular fries with sea salt), onion rings, chili, or Village fries(fries with thyme, rosemary, and sea salt). The burgers are a good size(smaller than a Red Robin burger). For the price that you pay though, the quality is very good. I tried the Good Stuff Melt, which had caramelized onions, mushrooms, muenster and cheddar cheese. Very well cooked burger and overall very delicious! They have a handful of milkshake options to go with your burger and fries. I got the Vietnamese Coffee Shake and I was a little disappointed. There was no coffee taste at all! It had a light caramel flavor, if anything. They have unique dipping sauces here as well. I didn’t get to try them all, but what I liked the most was the Mango sauce! I’m a big fan of sweet and salty foods together, and this sauce was made very well and complimented the fries nicely! For my burger and large shake, I paid $ 14 and some change. My friend got a burger with one of their combos, which included a mini shake and a snack size fries(the snack size was plenty for one person; him and I shared and we still didn’t finish the fries). A little on the pricey side, but worth it for the quality. The service was very quick too, which was great because they were busy and I can see that causing a lot of ruckus if they were not quick. I would suggest hanging a menu on the back wall where the line is so that customers know what they want by the time they get to the register and not hold up the line. They do give you a pager so you can come back to the counter to get your food if you decide to sit in their dining room upstairs. The dining room contained a couple of small tables and one large communal table in the back. If they included their sauce bar upstairs as well, that would be great! So then customers wouldn’t have to go back downstairs for sauce. There are windows upstairs and I got to sit at a window table, look down at Georgetown and enjoy my burger and shake! I will definitely be back! Better than Shake Shack in my opinion.

Good burgers and shakes. Good service. Dumb policies. My girlfriend and I ate here after walking around Georgetown for a bit. Good Stuff always makes a great burger and shake and I was sufficiently impressed with both the root beer floats(their ice cream is second to none) and the red velvet shake. However, something I still refuse to forgive them for — and why I only go when I’m forced to by my better half — is this stupid«envirocharge» on every receipt. In DC, you might assume it’s the bag tax, even though it’s a much higher fee than that; in VA, there’s no such tax, so the«envirocharge» only pads Chef Spike’s pockets. It’s only about 35 cents, but it’s the principle that matters to me. Don’t nickel and dime me for stupid stuff because you’re green-obsessed. I recycle and turn off my lights and do my part to protect Mother Nature, I don’t need you claiming to help too by charging me extra money that probably just goes to pay the lease on your Benz.

I fell in love with this place and their delicious, mouthwatering burgers. As a fan of cutie pie Spike Mendelsohn, and cheeseburgers, Good Stuff has been on my «places to visit» list for a long time. Nothing beats a good burger, french fries and cold beer so this was a no brainer. We came in around 4pm on a Thursday and the place had some customers but there was a lot of seating upstairs. Their menu is extensive and can be overwhelming but I settled on the Colletti’s smokehouse burger and fries with a nice cold brew. Other people in my party had Turkey Burger melt and Steakhouse burger. Everyone enjoyed their food. My burger was juicy, flavorful and probably ties with Shake Shack in terms of deliciousness. Oh, cheeseburger me love you soooo much! One of my favorite things is the sauce bar at the front. They have tons of different dipping sauces for your food ranging from sriracha, chipotle, mango, ketchup and more. My favorites were the chipotle and the sriracha. Tip: the restaurant is located right on M street, which is very busy and congested but great for walking around and people watching/window shopping. You can find parking on the side streets. No need to pay at the meters! I am very sad there isn’t an outpost here in NYC and will be fantasizing about the next time I can have one of their burgers in my mouth.

WOW! Super good burger!

Out of all the Good Stuff Eateries I have tried, this one is probably my favorite one! I have never had a bad experience at this Georgetown location. Despite the long line, it goes by so fast and there’s always seating upstairs! That’s some GOODSTUFF I tell you! My two favorites are the steakhouse and prez Obama burger. They are extra generous with the bacon for the Obama burger! I also tried the blazin barn and I just wasn’t a fan as other people are! I like the concept and Asian flavors they use, but am not convinced! Will always stick to Obama next time! Their combo sounds like a great deal — mini shake and fries(it really is. For how good the food is!), but you need to know that it comes out to 13 – 14 dollars. Just because it says burger + 4.30 or something like that, that doesn’t mean it’ll be cheap! Fools me every time but I keep coming back! And lastly, I just truly enjoy the little things to this place. The sauces — pineapple and sriracha are my personal favorites. These have the right amount of sweetness for any burger! In addition, the village fries are always crisp to perfection and the shakes are always spun well. I always get the toasted marshmallow or the flavor of the month. Flavor of the month is a hit or miss sometimes, but still good! They need to bring back the cranberry shake! Seriously was the best shake I’ve had in a long time!!! Thanks good stuff for always giving good stuff!!!

Got the infamous Toasted Marshmallow Milkshake. Not sure if my tastebuds were wrecked from a cold but I got no sense marshmallow and a lot of plain vanilla milkshake(which was fine with me because that was going to be my original order– and it was good). My friend said her burger was«okay» and I would say the same for their Rosemary seasoned fries. May be back if I’m dying for a shake, but not high on the list.

Delicious burgers, tasty fries, and heavenly milkshakes, all in one place. Mmmmmmm. You order your food fast food style at the counter, you get a food pager while you wait, scope out a table upstairs, get a few of their fancy in house sauces for dipping, the wait is practically over, pick up your food, then CHOMP! Hehe. Quite simple really. The burger and fries come in a paper bag and they are wrapped hastily, but the flavor profile and the juicy meat explosion make up for the less than pretty presentation. I was a skeptic but now I’m a convert… Definitely ranks in my top 5 burgers in the DMV.
