Giving this two stars because my daughter enjoyed her chicken wings. The General Tso’s chicken was awful– slimy, mystery meat with no heat– and the rice and veg was equally disgusting. The delivery person was very nice, though.

I got my delivery order within 40 min. The food was packed nicely. I ordered the general tso’s chicken with fried rice and a hot and sour soup. Definite value for money as they give ample quantities. For one person, that amount of food could have lasted me lunch, dinner and breakfast the next day! It was decent Americanized Chinese fast food home delivery. Your standard fare but *maybe* slightly better. The fried rice was on the drier side but the soup and chicken were good. Nothing mindblowing, of course. But definitely a place that could be my late night guilty pleasure Chinese food. My only issue was that I wish they gave the option of ordering spicier food or that they at least gave hot sauce with the order.

Four star ratings prompted me to order chicken wings and fries last week, but I was quite disappointed. I have no idea why folks think fried foods shouldn’t be seasoned. Whilst the chicken was crispy and juicy, it lacked flavor – thank goodness for the neon mambo sauce(that, unfortunately, caused an allergic reaction after eating). The fries, which I ordered for my son, were cold, unsalted, and stale(as if they were from the frozen section at Safeway). To make matters worse, they placed the hot fried chicken in a styrofoam container that melted on top of the chicken. Now that’s just nasty. The good part, I sent a message to grubhub and the restaurant offered me a partial refund.

Just received my first order! Delicious! The food arrived in 45 minutes on a Sunday night, with large pieces of white meat chicken and freshly cut vegetables. The hot and sour soup actually tasted sour(though they could up the spice), and contained reasonable portions of mushrooms and tofu. The Szechuan sauce seemed a little oilier than I am used to, but it had a good flavor. My new go-to Chinese spot!

Two stars for services but disappointed with what I ordered. I wanted schezwan chicken but ended up with hunan chicken. It was subpar, I probably won’t eat here again.

This is the Best Chinese for delivery. General Taos are on point, delivery drivers mostly nice. Guy with black hair is a nice guy. I order here about 40 times a year.

My first time ordering from here and I won’t be back. I requested pork fried rice and am tolerating a tasteless bowl of unseasoned old rice. Seriously, some of the rice is so hard I can’t chew it! Won’t order from here again.

Just ordered from here for the first time. Got chicken wings, an egg roll, a spring roll, and general tso’s chicken. Everything was amazing and the perfect temperature. They delivered the food faster then they said they would.- nothing is better then that. Definitely will stay on the top of my list

Reluctantly giving three stars. This is probably the most taste-less chinese food I’ve had yet. The egg drop soup is NOT worth getting unless you have the flu+ bronchitis + upper respiratory infection and you cannot taste anything in the first place. For such a simple soup, I’m not sure how they made it unpalatable. I had the chicken and broccoli(my failsafe when trying new chinese joints) and the cuts of meat were just fine, but they had no flavor whatsoever. I even made sure to pour the ‘sauce’ that was at the bottom of the container and it, too, lacked flavor despite have a nice color to it. They did give lots of broccoli and it was cooking perfectly, so I cannot be mad there. A large egg drop + a small chicken and broccoli ran me $ 11.30. I will only be going back because its very, very convenient to my new place in Petworth.

quick and dirty Americanized Chinese. I like it. Delivery people are nice. Last time they only gave me one rice for two entrees but I’ll forgive them. Crab wontons are good

The food seemed fine until I found a cooked maggot in my fried rice, which was basically leftover rice tossed with a little bit of egg, soy sauce, and a few frost-bitten peas. I got the chicken fried rice. The chicken was tiny pieces of the darkest, slimiest chicken available. Didn’t even seem like the rice was fried. The plain steamed broccoli and white rice were fine, but it’s hard to mess that up. The broccoli was a little over cooked. It does seem impossible to get good Chinese delivered to Petworth, and I am about to give up and start cooking my own.

Fast and on point Chinese food. I even love their chef’s salad which I get with each order.

Oh my Gosh so good. I’m originally from New York, and very picky about my Chinese take out, but honestly I think this beats any I’ve ever had. Super cheap, delicious. My family’s go-to for Sunday take out. Huge portions, great prices, and quick delivery. What more could you ask for?!? I’d give them 10 stars if I could.

This place is fast, consistent, and pretty good. I have never been to the actual location. I drove by once and it looked like a dump, but the food is tasty and it is a great option that delivers to north petworth/brightwood.

I ordered the Hot and sour soup, egg drop soup, chicken fried rice, sesame chicken and broccoli in garlic sauce. It their defense, I am dealing with the end of a summer cold which is why I ordered the soups. The food arrived quick and hot. However it lacked flavor. One of the reasons you order chinese food and to have your taste buds get excited about the seasonings. This food had no flavor. I thought it was just me, but the other members of the house hold agreed. I agree with other reviewers, the food was not greasy. If I ordered again, I wouldn’t order the same. I would try something new.

By far the best Chinese food that delivers to the Petworth, 16th Street Heights, Brightwood area. We have tried many and have found them to be the most similar to Chinese in the NY/NJ area. The wonton soup is excellent and most of the dishes that we have tried have been really good, not greasy/oily, and flavorful without being over-salty. We have and will continue to order delivery from them. My only complaint, and it is a small one, they don’t have any water chestnuts. I’ve never heard of a Chinese restaurant that doesn’t cook with water chestnuts.

Another stop in my ongoing five-year mission to visit every cheap Chinese takeout place in DC, this one does inspire some concern through the barrier they awkwardly pass your food to you around. Urban life is what it is, I guess. The ubiquitous ma po tofu was fairly impressive. When it comes in a container resembling a small bucket, that’s usually a good sign. The burn and the black beans were ample. Other dishes I tried were less impressive, from some dumplings with what appeared to be scallions and not much else, and a tofu with Chinese vegetables dish that had what appeared to be some pretty American vegetables plus a couple of pieces of bok choy, albeit making a passable dish on the whole. At little more than $ 8 an entrée, definitely worth a shot though. Also, they are a rare purveyor of the famed Rock Creek sodas, which are of course no more than sugar water with slightly different flavors than the other brands, but enjoyed in moderation are nonetheless are one of life’s simple pleasures. Try peach.

Everyone who has lived in DC for any length of time knows there is no good Chinese takeout/delivery here. When I saw the good reviews for this place, I figured we should try again(plus, we were getting sick of our usual delivery options). I’m happy to report that it did not disappoint! We’ve gotten it twice now and both times have been fast, delicious, and fresh. Even if you’ve been disappointed by Chinese food in the district before, it’s worth a try.

One of literally 2 places that delivers to my Petworth apt – the other is a pizza place. I’m usually wary of delivery food for two reasons: — rarely any healthy options and I like to watch my figure — I’m a super frugal(read: cheap) young profesh currently accruing $ 115 a month in student loan interest and every delivery fee counts Chinese food also has the unfortunate habit of making me hungry again two hours after I eat it, which doesn’t fit my «frugal» persona, so when I say it’s been a minute since I ordered Chinese delivery/take-out, I mean it’s been ~a minute~. Four years’ worth of minutes. That said, it’s currently 30 degrees with 17 mph winds, I don’t have a car, and ye old fridge is hungrier than I was. I took the leap and called Hong Kong. They were efficient and polite on the phone and my order arrived in 30 minutes, which is frankly astounding. It’s been a long day and I’ve been in a carb-me mood all day so I immediately dumped some fried rice + orange beef in a bowl, curled up under my heated blanket, and meditated on the fact that it is a Friday and tomorrow I don’t have to shower if I don’t want to, while I ate. Like with pretty much any Chinese take-out place, the beef had a consistency unlike beef you find in your typical Safeway, but it tasted like orange beef so I put that out of my mind. Maybe they just choose fattier cuts for overhead reasons, I don’t really want to know. It was good. The fried rice was excellent. The driver/order taker were polite and friendly. 4 stars for generally good food, great service, maybe not the best cuts of meat. If I end up getting delivery again, it will probably be this place since there’s no point in eating pizza if it isn’t &pizza. ETA: I *did* get hungry 2 hours later.

After moving to Cleveland Park, we’ve tried several different Chinese take out places and haven’t been won over by any of them. My boyfriend found Hong Kong on Unilocal so we though we’d give it a try and are very glad we did. By far the best Chinese that delivers to our neighborhood. Ordering on the phone was easy, staff was pleasant and they even called back to confirm the address before delivering. It took just more than 30 minutes for our food to arrive, which is pretty impressive since we’re 10+ minutes by car from the restaurant. He got the Hot & Sour soup which was piping hot and delicious. He was particularly thrilled to find Fried Cheese Wontons(ones with no crab) which were amazing. It was the first time I saw cream cheese wontons with chopped green onion and other spices mixed in instead of just plain old cream cheese. I had the General Tsao’s Chicken, which while not the best I’ve ever had, was certainly better than most. It was a mix of white and dark meat, but good quality unlike some places where the meat can be tough. He had the Sweet & Sour Pork which was good as well. The only drawback was the Sweet & Sour Pork did not come with any vegetables. Overall the meal was very good and the staff was friendly and prompt. Best part was all the food was only $ 30! Definitely on the cheaper side for delivery in NW!
