I came here for their Customer Appreciation day deal – any of their 8″ sub sandwiches for $ 1.00. As expected, the line was all the way to where Peets Coffee starts. However, I was not deterred and it took me about ½ hour before I got inside. Before getting inside, an employee asked what I wanted and if I needed a menu. He also explained what was available for deal – he marked everything down on a sheet and gave it to me to give the cashier. The cashier was pleasant considering they were being inundated with folks. They moved things along pretty quickly; I was in and out within 5 minutes. They had a few tables to sit but I took my food to go. I got the JJBLT and it was pretty good, the bread was yummy – it didn’t really look like anything memorable but it was, go figure. I should mention that the bread could have been a little softer. All in all, Jimmy John’s is a solid sandwich/hero choice.

This place is so-so if work is hectic and you don’t have time to leave your desk. They deliver fast(I’ll give them that) but the quality of sandwich is sub-par. While the bread is good they only have one type of cheese. I’m a pretty«standard» sandwich eater. White bread, turkey, mayo and American cheese(or as my fiancé says mayonnaise with a side of bread, turkey and Am. cheese). So I was unpleasantly surprised when my only option was Provolone. Your a sub shop for goodness sake how do you only have one type of cheese? Secondly, if you order a fountain soda be prepared to receive a can of soda. I ordered a fountain sprite and received a can of sprite with my delivery. While these aren’t big things my order came to about $ 10 and for that amount of money I expect better; especially considering what $ 10 will buy you at other places.

I. LOVE. JIMMY. JOHNS. HOWEVER… please don’t have your front line staff conducting business where I’d rather have a machine to take my order and money. He barely greeted me. Any questions I had, he looked high or uninterested. The female employee behind him began to field my questions. Very irritating!!! By the time i handed him my card, the other employee making sandwiches handed me my sandwich. When I tasted it, she had the perfect amount of condiments on my sandwich and it tasted lovely as I had expected and it was easy to forget about the imbecile(ughh sorry about the name calling, but he doesn’t need to work customer service!!) that took my order(simply pressed buttons on the register.) My food usually tastes better with good customer service.

Fast service. Place is clean and staff is friendly. Parking is hit or miss. this location is near the White House so you can drop by after your tour. Subs are good and they always have fresh rolls. Definitely worth the stop.

Very nice place and helpful staff. Bathrooms were also clean and sitting outside was very pleasing. Only bad thing about food itself was the fact that all the meats and veggies slip out because of mayo. Overall I was very satisfied.

I love Jimmy Johns! Their sandwiches are so fresh and the bread is delicious! The Beach Club is my fav! I have been coming to this location for a few years, and the recent change in management has made a huge difference! The new manager is always in the store and is so friendly. The staff in general is really friendly and makes you feel welcome the second you walk in the door. Also, they really do make those sandwiches«freaky fast»! They usually hand me my sandwich before I am even finished paying! I would highly recommend this place for a quick weekday lunch or a nice stop when doing some sightseeing around the White House.

This is typical chain. If you grew up in a city with any decent sub shops(Boston, New York, Philly) you will experience a step up from Subway. Granted it’s a decent step up but that is just because Subway is pretty terrible. It’s nothing to order unless you’re close by and just want a cheap mediocre sub.

The sub was good. I asked for avacado, they said it was real and I got a tiny bit of guacamole. Disappointed. There are lots of sandwich shops in this area…

DONOTORDERDELIVERYFROMTHISLOCATION. I ordered from here a year and a half prior and they screwed the order up completely. OVER A YEARAND A HALFLATER, I decided to give it another try this time they lost my order. Fool me once shame on them, fool me twice shame on me… I hope nobody else will be fooled into ordering their delivery.

Great location downtown. It wasn’t very busy when we had lunch over Labor Day weekend, but the service was outstanding and the food was great. A great lunch experience!

Food is great — although they have messed up our delivery order a few times. They occasionally forget to add mayo/leave off mayo and other small details, but we love the food at my office and continue to return!

I decided to go out on a limb and order a sandwich out of «my norm». Stacks of sliced meats, cheeses and hot pepper laced sandwiches are beyond a doubt the only sandwich that I will ever eat. When you start to add chutneys, jams and fruit of any type, that’s a salad. SALAD I SAY! Now don’t get me wrong… I do like salad but lets not try to reinvent the wheel. I chose the #3TOTALLYTUNA. Fresh housemade tuna, mixed with celery, onions, and their tasty sauce, then topped with alfalfa sprouts, cucumber, lettuce, and tomato. The menu states, «My tuna rocks!»(Warning) Anything that states that it is house made will have issues… Baking being the worst but that is another story. Unless the same person is preparing that item everyday, it’s going to be inconsistent. Totally tuna… celery and onions yes. salt and pepper no. Lettuce. check. Tomatoes. check. Cucumbers … check. Alfalfa sprout? Alfalfa sprouts?(Bueller) nope! Not since the days of Booey Mongers have I had sprouts on a sandwich. when I asked the sandwich guy about the salad… umm sprouts, he said that they are not in season… Wait a minute. Im going to have to call you on this one. Alfalfa Sprout Season? That’s like saying you can’t use your Chia Pet in the winter! We grew sprouts in mayo jars as a school project when i was a kid OK… no biggy. Usually I wrap my hands around a sandwich that weighs a pound. Totally Tuna was totally light! It stated that it was made with a tasty sauce. All I «Tasty» Was Cucumbers! Lettuce, tomato, cucumbers celery, onions and Chia Pet. umm sprouts. That’s a salad. Boy do I wish there were jam, fruit or chutney on this now! I will definitely return but I will stick to the tried and true… Or bring in my own Chia Pet!

OH.MY.WORD. I had a few dollars left over on a JJ gift card so decided to pick up a sandwich for lunch. The cashier told me I didn’t have enough on the card to pay for it(which I expected), so I said, ok, tell me how much I owe. He then told me the TOTAL. I said, NO tell me how much I owe minus what’s on the gift card. THEN, he reached in his pocket(to presumably do the math on his phone). I looked at what was left on the card and paid the difference — I’m not trusting his math.

Jimmy John’s proclaims to be «the world’s best gourmet sandwiches.» That, I would say, is a bit of an exaggeration. Jimmy John’s is a very solid two stars, at least from the vegetarian point of view. They have two veggie sandwiches(one simply a bigger version of the other) and while they are edible, they really are only a step up from a Subway veggie sandwich, with the addition of guacamole and slightly more cheese. The bread is very soft too, so that does bring some bonus points. I can’t really comment on the meat options, but it appeared they have mostly pretty basic options with coldcuts, salami, etc, and their menu is really only about 10 items long. So, choose Jimmy John’s over Subway any day, but you will find much better(innovative, flavorful) sandwiches at nearly any other venue.

After walking aimlessly around Farragut Square checking out the food trucks, I suddenly remembered that a Jimmy John’s opened up nearby. My coworker and I decided to bail on the food trucks and procure a JJ’s sub. As soon we walked in, that familiar smell of JJ’s bread immediately hit us. I’ve mostly had JJ’s after a night out in in Blacksburg(i.e. when i’m drunk). This DC location was small in comparison. They have a couple tables lined up against the wall if you want to eat-in. Most people were getting theirs to-go, so there were a lot of people just standing around. I couldn’t tell who had or hadn’t already ordered. Thankfully the guy at the register was calling out for the next person ready to order. My go-to at JJ’s is the turkey tom — simple, but good. Today I decided to spice things up a bit and add hot peppers and provolone cheese(which cost extra btw). I also got a pickle on the side, which I didn’t realize costs extra(1.10). Sadly, I ended up wasting the pickle because it is ginormous! Won’t be getting it again. It took a hot minute to figure out if my order was ready. This one employee just kept yelling out Turkey Tom. Knowing that my coworker just got his, I knew there was a good chance it was mine. When I walked up to the counter, I asked him what was on the Turkey Tom since there were probably a dozen others that ordered the same thing. With an annoyed look on his face, he replied hot peppers, cheese & a pickle. The sandwich was indeed mine, but I did not appreciate the attitude. All the other employees giving out sandwiches were calling out orders by ticket number, so why did this guy have to be the only one not doing it? If he had just read the order number, as it is meant to be, the problem would have been solved right away! As for the sandwich, the bread wasn’t as soft on the inside as I remember it being, and I barely got the hot peppers I paid extra for. But overall, the sub was good. The service/execution needs to be better. I might just save JJ’s for when I visit Virginia Tech.

So, I must say, i’m completely biased when it comes to sub sandwiches. Being from Jersey, i know where to get a good deal on a real italian sub. Was craving a sandwich today and decided to try this place. They were friendly inside. Ordered quickly. Saw a guy waiting behind me… seems like he had been waiting a while and they had forgotten about his sandwich. The sandwich itself is okay… i’ve had much better, but it is better than Subway or potbellys. The vinagariette could use less oil… the bread was average. LIke the other reviewer said, they forgot my pickle and I’m pretty sure I paid a dollar extra for it. This place definitely could use some improvement and needs to be a little bit more on top of orders. Not sure how they can handle lunch hour on a weekend… this was 3 on a Saturday… almost empty and they messed things up.

Was walking past this place and thought«ooh a new place, lets give it a go.» What a mistake. Just got back to my desk and am looking at the least appealing sandwich I’ve ever bought(to be fair a requested a sandwich and got a sub — but that’s the least of my disappointment). Lots of lettuce and almost no meat. And that’s for the the«porker» which is meant to be a meat feast. They also diddled me out of my pickle. What a dreadful place. Can’t imagine if it continues like this it will last for long. Dire place.
