WORST experience ever! The club is full of ratchet 18 – 20 year olds. The rules seem to vary by staff member, and none of the rules are convenient to the paying customer. The whole text to get a VIP table free and a free bottle is a rip off. The bar is small and narrow and therefor only allows for about four-five tables. They make everyone stand outside until about 12am Instead of simply advertising 12am open times. Don’t bother going if you’re simply paying the. 20 $cover. They won’t let you in either. And once you get in it’ll only be about 20 ratchets in the whole building. Don’t waste your time or money. We paid the price of waiting an 1 and a half before getting in while waiting in the rain and it was all for nothing. We didn’t get the VIP table and bottle service we reserved bc the unorganized staff gave it away. Waste of time, complete disappointment. Believe the other reviews when they say it’s a waste. We didn’t and we literally paid the price.

This is definitely the worst bar experience that I’ve had in DC. The promoters and bouncers in the front were confused and seemed to be frustrated with some of the people trying to enter. We finally get in through the VIP line only to find out that they had only given half of our group the wrist bands needed to be seated in the right area. After an hour of waiting we finally sat down and I was immediately turned off by the environment but decided to have a couple drinks. They were terrible and each one was super watered down. Lesson learned please beware this place is trash.

BEWAREOFTHEBAITANDSWITCH! On Jan 11, I was told to text the word«legend» to 545454 for free entry for ladies. I got to the door and was told that since I didn’t text by 10pm(the reply text had a time stamp of 11-ish) free admission was over and I would have to pay $ 20. Really!!! The text said nothing about a cut-off time for free entry. Needless to say I turned around and walked out.

Went here with a girlfriend on a Saturday night. After searching through Unilocal for a club that played hip hop(not electronic) it seemed like our pickings were slim and we settled on Lotus Lounge with not very high hopes. Got there at 11:30, waited outside for 20 min in line. 2 busloads of people arrived after us, and were put in two different lines, and let in before us. Got in free by showing a text(got the info from their website). Otherwise the cover was $ 20. When we got downstairs to the bar area, we both thought«This is it?!» It was very small. It looked like there was another section, but it was closed off. There was barely anyone there.(What did they have us waiting for 20 minutes outside for??!) It was empty. No dancing except for a few people grinding on their friends. We also noted that the girl to guy ratio was at least 2 to 1. The interior was decorated nice and the music was good. Wish there was more people there and we might have stayed more than 15 minutes.

Call me crazy but I like this lounge. Yes the line issue is beyond me, its super small on the inside and the layout is retarded, but when you got a table, drinks, and friends you destined for a good time. I absolutely love the music they play you wouldn’t hear half of the songs at Fur & Ibiza. FYI…people are allowed to smoke here so if you don’t want to go home smelling like straight WEED you might want to chose another place.

Where do I start. 1. IGNOREPROMOTIONALTEXTMESSAGES: According to the text messages(41411) doors open at 9:45pm and there is open bar until 11pm. I got there at 10:00pm. .. doors are closed. Some guy chilling in his car was extremely disrespectful and rude to us and told us to stop away from the door and to come back because they are not open yet. We informed them about the text messages and he said«That ain’t my problem.» Seriously? 2. BIRTHDAYSPECIALSAREFALSE: My friend was informed that you get a free table and a bottle of champagne on your birthday.(A little too good to be true) She went and found out she had to pay $ 35 for a table which came with. .. . «blue juice». Shit got real. I’m not in college anymore partying with the Sigmas!!! In a ciroc bottle they mixed blue Hawaiian punch with some cheap vodka — that was supposed to be the«champagne». Plus, we only had the table until 12pm?!? You must be kidding me. 3. HOESMAKEIT «RAIN». .. LITERALLY: Throughout the night there was a group of ghetto girls throwing dollar bills on their friend as she twerked. **Speechless**. Your friend is only worth a dollar bill, give her at least $ 10 for her looking stupid. Also, a fight happened between two women — I saw better fights in High School growing up in Queens. Also, I swore I saw a two 13 year old girls in there. That was the first and probably the last time I will step foot into LOTUS. But the place did look nice inside. .. without the clientele.

Five Words: Hoodrat’s Galore and Shady Business!!! explains this place in a nut shell. Where do I begin? First, this shady place said it was free all night for ladies on the radio. My friend and I decided to check it out. When we arrived, some guy told us that it would be an extra $ 10 to cut the line. We declined and stood in the regular line and these people made us stood in the regular line for at least 30 minutes just because we decided not to pay the extra money. Did I mention it was freezing outside? After passing security, they asked for a $ 20 cover. For what? Because it was past 1 am. I Walked into this place and it was a hoodrat’s paradise! Rachetness galore!!! Now, I like a little bit of rachetness in my life because I hate going to clubs where everyone is standoffish such as *cough* The Park at 14th, but the extra thirst at Lotus was severe. I gave it one star because I danced a little bit and I had no choice but to give it a one star. I wasn’t impressed at all. so stay Away!!! Shady people work here.

SHADY! Went to Lotus for Tuesday night since there weren’t many options. Online they say its Free All Night for ladies. When we got there, the line must have been about 20 people. Meanwhile they have a cut line for 10 $ extra. We decided to wait in the regular line and ended up waiting an HOUR! At that rate, why don’t they just charge everyone a cover rather than all this nonsense. Then, once we got past security we were told it was 20 $ cover! But we told them that it says free all night for ladies. I was told that you needed to have the text message in order to be let in for free. I was livid but by this point my bladder was ready to burst so I ended up paying anyway. The overall club experience isn’t bad at all. I just hate the shade, they should just charge everyone a cover and call it a night

DUMP! DUMP! DUMP! Please believe the hundreds of BAD reviews this dump gets! First they send you a thousand text messages saying that they open at 9:30. First come, first serve for VIP tables, Free champagne until 11:00pm. LIES!!! Some friends and I arrived at this venue at 9:20pm. Because the door was open, we stood just inside the door. We were only there about a minute before a guard came running from across the street saying that we had to step out because they were not open yet. [Wait!!! Thinking why is a club at is advertising to be at a table at 9:30 not open at 9:20] So in 37 degree temps, they kick us outside. Then while we are standing outside another guard comes out at 9:45 and tells us to step away from the door, they are still not open and they have to put the barriers out, Then another«customer» steps up and were rudely told at 10:00 that they weren’t opening until 10:30! Meantime NOBODYBOTHEREDTOTELLUS!!! The guards just hung out front, being rude to everyone, and babbling on their cellphones. My guess is that they did not want to «give away drinks until 11:00 and that is why they kept pushing back the opening. Also, I got the impression that everybody showed up for work when they felt like it. Also, how in the hell are you going to have a dress-code when everybody working there is in t-shirts and sneakers??? We had enough!!! It wasn’t until we were walking off that they even bothered to get off their cellphones to ask us where we were going. To which we responded „The Park“, a nightclub that is literally around the corner! They then said that The Park was a second rate nightclub compared to them. To which I said, „That may be so but, THEYAREOPENANDYOURNOT!“ After we got in a few drinks at The Park, we continued getting texts saying „Come Now!“ „Now Open!“ :Free Drinks!» The place is a dive! They keep opening later, and later so people get there later, and later. I predict this hell hole will be closed within a year. You will also notice that the few reviews on here(actually 3) that give them four stars have a combination of initials as a name. I personally think those reviews are fakes created by the owners staff. If this club wants to survive they need to start off by firing the manager, then the entire staff! If you want something to do, you would be better off cleaning the grout in your bathroom!

Someone else wrote that their experience was surreal. I wholeheartedly agree with this one-word review. We were visiting from out of town for my husband’s work conference and were staying at the Westin Hotel around the corner. We went to dinner at DC Coast and then went across the street to this little club that said LOTUS. We thought the word implied a serene place to listen to music. This was as far from the truth as you could get. The first thing that happened was that we were patted down to make sure we did not have weapons. Despite this, we still decided to go in. It was 10:00 on a Tuesday night and we get inside and there was no one there. After all the hoopla at the front door, we decided we might as well stay for one drink. We ordered Ciroc and tonic. We pay $ 14. There is a group of 8 men huddled in the corner who seem to work there. See photo. We go and sit in this back room. See other photo. After 2 minutes they come and say we can’t sit there and we have to leave this section. We say we are the ONLYCUSTOMERS in the club and that it is ridiculous that they are trying to control where we sit. They laugh and make us go to the other, more plebian section. All 8 people not only put up a little barrier made from these ridiculous footstools but they also stand there between the two sections in case we decide to re-enter.(I later researched the website and found out that you are supposed to order bottle service in order to sit in this section. This was not explained to us. We were simply told to get out of that area. I understand there is a lot of racial friction in DC but this was over the top. If these gentlemen want to make money they have to be clear with their rules and regulations so that everyone is on the same page as to who can enter which area. I mean, come on. A sign would suffice.) We are about to go when three women in their early twenties walk in. I talk to one of them for awhile and explain our situation. She says they are there for FREECIROC. I say what! She said, yes, all the Ciroc drinks are free on Tuesday evenings. I look over at the white male bartender, who looks down sheepishly. I talk to the Asian bartender lady and she happily gives us a free drink, but does not offer to return the $ 14 that we erroneously paid for the first round of drinks. Anyway, I say goodbye to my new friend, and we leave. I assumed the club had opened a week ago and that was the issue. I was shocked to find out it had been open for years. How is this possible? I will say that the music was great. I loved the DJ. He looked to be about 17 years old but knew what he was doing in the booth. It was surreal and terrible and I recommend that everyone stay as far away as possible from this confused mess of a night club.

I’ve only been here twice, but either of the two visits standing alone could prevent a third. On my first trip the young«lady» I’d been chatting with at the bar asked if I could«help her with her phone bill.» I don’t think I initially understood the question. I thought it was an odd request, wrote her off as maybe a little bit crazy, and went about my night. A few nights ago I returned after a couple of years having completely forgotten about my first experience. This time a different young«lady» asked if I could«buy her a bottle.» Eh? This a fucking club or a loan office? The prospect of purchasing a 300 dollar bottle of Goose(at like a 700 percent markup) for a virtual stranger was a bit much. I was drinking when she asked so my descent into hysterical laughter resulted in my choking on my drink. Needless to mention that she seemed less amused than I. There’s something so unbearably sad about the way the brokest people in our society conspicuously blow dough to impress other broke people. This was some surreal shit

I went to Lotus Lounge on a Saturday night and the place was just very blah to me. With all clubs in DC there are pro and cons and hits and misses but unfortunately this place had more misses than hits to me. I can’t put my finger on it exactly but there was just something very off about it. The place is incredibly narrow and they make the huge mistake of roping off half of the very small space with a VIP section that was on at least the night I was there very empty. I think they have a wall of 5 to 6 tables for VIP and bottle service and only one was being used that night. So there was a lot of empty space people could be partying in that was empty. They have a wall of lights that I guess they want to be cool but instead is just incredibly annoying. The wall flashes bright lights of different colors but the lights are so bright and blink so rapidly that they’re more likely to cause a seizure than they are to cause a person to stop and be impressed by it. They have way too many bouncers and security guards for the amount of space they have. I mean I want to feel safe in a spot but I don’t want to feel like I’m on lockdown with guards constantly looking over my shoulder. The drinks are heavily watered down. Now I’m admit I got there between 10 and 11 where they have a Ciroc and Grey Goose open bar but if you’re going offer something then put some alcohol in, my vodka and cranberry was dark red and tasted like maybe an ounce of vodka was in it. I would have to drink 20 to get a small buzz going. I will say the music was good, your normal hip hop that they play in most clubs but nobody was dancing, it’s appeared to be one of those spots where everybody wants to look cute and nobody wants to do what dance clubs are made for and that is dancing. All and all I didn’t pay to get in so I shouldn’t complain to much but Lotus Lounge to me was just very blah and I would definitely not return if there was a cost associated with going.

This was the last stop the Boomerang bus made on Halloween. It was better than Muse but that isn’t saying a lot. Lotus wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t great either. It was long and narrow and difficult to get around. There were some paid dancers along the wall by the booths. I didn’t even want to order a drink at this point because the ambiance left a lot to be desired. It looked too much like a restaurant and not a club. I’m just glad that I didn’t have to pay a cover and I had way more fun on the bus than at Lotus.

-$ 11 for a Kamikaze SHOT(who know how much an actual cup is) –Dance Floor narrower than LeAnn Rimes –F-class celebrity wanna-bes I could post some more things, but lets stop right there. It was my first time going to Lotus Lounge(this is after my group turned down Park at 14thAND Bar 7). We came on a Saturday night. Cover was $ 20 since the group came well after midnight. We wanted to park valet(which is just a parking garage next to the club), which cost another $ 20. No big deal though, if the club experience was worth it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. Money wasted. I know I have had some bad clubbing experiences. This one is top on the list, on the first visit. Impressive feat.

WARNING– BOUNCERSATTACKGIRLS Don’t waste your time or money here. Go party somewhere else. I went here for my bday with 30 people, lost my wallet and was looking for it. the bouncer was yelling at me to leave. I told him that I lost my wallet and he said to get out, then proceeds to manhandle me. I wouldn’t encourage anyone to come here. Heck I even joined Unilocal to warn people! Stay away ladies. I dont want anyone to go through what I went through.

This place is my disco hell. Inadvertently me and a friend had bought the same groupon to here. We decided to use hers one night. The happy hour special was not bad, the drinks were over priced though. It was cheap sushi. Not tasty good sushi just cheap sushi. What made the night worse is that apparently they were holding a film première that night. A student film, so the place flooded with college kids. And then the movie started, it was a kung fu film where a really tore up, coke snorting, old dude bangs a bunch of young chicks and beats them up. It was almost snuff film bad. What made it worse that was that the college kids there were all the actors in the film so basically I had just seen everyone around me in some form of naked ness. I wanted out but it took a long time to get the bartenders attention, cause he also looked like he wanted to poke his eyes out. I let my groupon expire cause I can’t bring myself to go out there again.

I’ve been had. Hoodwinked. Duped. Bamboozled. How in the world did one drink cost $ 17 at Lotus? If this were Miami, LA, New York or an upscale lounge in DC, I would expect that. But Lotus? Not quite. I’ll accept partial blame here. I was an idiot and didn’t ask the price. I saw an attractive looking beverage that someone was sipping on and said: T: «Ohh, that looks good, what is that?» Bartender: «Dangerous.» T: «Sign me up!» (Got tab handed to me) T: «D’oh!» And trust me, I finished that drink rather quickly and there was nothing dangerous about it. Overall, I have mixed feelings about Lotus. They have a pretty good happy hour with some decent specials on their mediocre sushi with free Sapporo and sake for the first hour, but other than that I would never come here without purpose. Ironically, I was here just last week for my friend’s birthday in the back, VIP area of the club. I had an insane amount of fun that night but I can write that off to: 1)Being handed half a bottle of vodka upon entering the back area of the lounge. 2)Arriving late enough so the party was in full swing. Time to play catch up! 3) 4:1 guy to girl ratio of the group I was with 4) Most of those said men were tall. Although I love my vertically challenged men, I’m slightly partial to giants. I will give credit however to the DJ last Saturday night. He kept everyone dancing. In fact, Lotus usually has pretty good dance music in general. So I had one fun night at Lotus. I guess that makes my ratio of fun nights here 1:6.
