I just wanted to come back and write a review on the henna that I purchased. I still stand behind the awesome customer service, but unfortunately the henna that I purchased was a bit too gritty for my taste. I was looking for a brick and mortar location to buy my henna instead of ordering it online, but it seems that the one I order online is finer and easier to remove. I may go back to purchase the soaps, but unfortunately I will not be repurchasing the henna.

Show me a beauty supply store and I’ll show you my wallet. I am a sucker for anything that promises to give me glowing, baby soft skin and sultry, harlot eyes. I was strolling around Union Market one lovely spring evening when I came across this stall toting organic beauty products. Instantly intrigued, I was already envisioning taking out a small loan to pay for all of the things I had wanted to buy. Let’s face it… beauty ain’t cheap and when I see the words local, natural and organic in front of it my wallet cries a little. The shop keep came up to me and started talking about the products and benefits as well as the story behind their company. The founder started the company several years ago to commemorate his mother who died of cancer at an early age. The products they made were sold to wholesalers who marked up the prices on their items significantly. Realizing that this didn’t jive with the company philosophy of creating an accessible product for the masses, they decided to open up a shop at Union Market. They are brand spankin’ new people, so say hello to them when you stop by! They are in the works of creating a moisturizer and facial cleanser but they currently sell natural henna hair dye, soy candles, hydrosol facial mists, clay masks, bath salt, and a variety of clay masks. After showing me all of the products I decided to buy a lemongrass facial mist(a toner that doubles as a natural insect repellent!), very LARGE jar of kaolin clay(great for sensitive skin and drawing out impurities), a bar of soap created to calm eczema ridden skin, and a one pound bag of their detoxing bath salts. As I said, I was already expecting to give up my first born child for these products and I was okay with it since typically you gotta pay for quality products. When the shop keep gave me the final price of everything it was only $ 26. I immediately tested the products as soon as I got home and my skin feels baby soft and energized. The lemongrass spray has been so refreshing to spritz on my skin, especially in this 90 degree weather! As a former cancer survivor who has to spend an arm and a leg to put quality ingredients in and on my body, I salute you Mama Organic! Welcome to the ‘hood.
