We stayed at the Omni Hotel and were thrilled by their in-house bar and lounge. The Marquee offers up the quiet and personable experience that you honestly can’t find in DC(not that it’s any of the businesses faults, you just find yourself in an overly crowded spot wherever you step). We stopped in for a nightcap at Marquee Bar and Lounge, located inside the Omni Hotel, just through the front door, down the steps to the right. Guests are invited to sit at the bar or one of several secluded lounge/table set-ups. Table service is available and a full list of cocktails($ 12-$ 15), beer and wine(as well as select liquors). They also serve a varied nut mix(with wasabi peas!) to guests. We ordered a Manhattan(make sure they don’t forget the cherry!) and an extra dirty martini(served with three olives). The drinks weren’t the best I’ve had(I don’t think they are serving up top shelf liquor), but they were perfect for the atmosphere, being at a hotel bar and they were strong. Service was perfect, they check on you, but give you the much desired space you need. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end my evening, highly recommend as a perfect way to end any evening(great for a quiet date spot or if you’re looking to get cozy with your partner)!

I’m going to regret this review so much when word gets out. But if you’re by the Omni and need a drink you should come on in. This place is what every hotel bar should be. It’s tastefully appointed and offers tables, comfy chairs, and a bar. Think dark wood and dimmed lights. There are also TVs but the volume is on the lower side, so you *can* sit at the bar and watch sports, but it’s not a sports bar. The staff is friendly and service is good. The cocktail menu is DC prices, but their cocktails are excellent and very strong. Seriously, go easy. One of their martinis is easily worth 2 – 3 drinks elsewhere, which ends up making it a value proposition. I’ve sampled quite a few of their cocktails and haven’t been disappointed yet, but if you’re a first-timer here, try the Ultimate Martini or Craft Manhattan. Or you can opt for a Smoky Margarita or Salted Gin Gimlet. Their food is good too; slightly marked up because it’s a hotel bar but I’ve not been disappointed. I like the crabcake sliders myself(two to an order). Also, their plate of mixed nuts is excellent. I live nearby so I like to treat myself from time to time. If you’re around, you should too.
