I had my first visit to Maxstudio this past Sunday and I have to say that I am a fan. I noticed that other reviewers complained about the staff. Management must have shook things up since the last review was written because the sales associates with which I came in contact were very friendly, helpful and polite. There was no stuffiness or perceived air of superiority that I noticed. My only complaint is that they need more dressing rooms because there was quite a line to try on. I found the prices to be quite reasonable and the quality of the dresses above average. I bought a gorgeous yellow dress(my first yellow dress) for a great price and I will *definitely* be going back for another visit.

Got lured into Max Studio by the awesome window displays while shopping in Georgetown with Mary Kate A. I guess I have a thing for asymmetric sweaters this year. I’m loving that the store is filled with them, as well as beautiful cocktail dresses of all different cuts and fabrics. Lately I’ve been trying to broaden my fashion horizon, and I think Max Studio will be helping me with that from here on out. My only compliant is sadly a pretty big one. I found the sales reps in the store to be a little too… um…yuppy…for me. These girls just over do it. I’ve never really felt a part of the fashion world, and being around those girls for a good 30 minutes reiterated to me exactly why that is. I just don’t appreciate people that think their better than you just because they spend their whole pay check on clothing and don’t eat… ever. Yuck! Had it not been for the pushy and stuffy service, I would rate this store with 5 stars. The clothing is unique, high quality, and fits me pretty well. After buying one of the cocktail dresses, I’m actually not as terrified as I use to be by the prospect of going out somewhere that’s «hip» or «trendy». Now all I need is a new hairstyle…

My first experience at a Max Studio was today, and let me tell ya – these women are damn determined to make a sale come hell or high water. I love wonderful customer service. Of course everyone does. However, when you are trying to sell and convince me that a $ 100 cotton garment is worth buying, you’ve got to be on something. She was trying to convince me that this dress that was made in Indonesia in a sweat shop and where the worker made less than $ 3 for their efforts — that I looked fabulous in this completely hideous dress. She kept saying ‘you look fabulous’…‘this dress is so stunning on you’… Girl please. My body was busting out of this thing in all directions. She was working hard… really hard. I respect the clothing they sale. Carly C. bought this amazing dress that suited her and will be great for a night out in the very near future. It was a steal in my opinion. They’ve got a very nice selection of shoes and clothing for those cute fashionistas who can afford to drop $ 100 or $ 200 on a single clothing item. Unfortunately I do not fit that genre. I am just another common folk trying to make ends meet. In the mean time though, I can gaze and enjoy the quality wear that Max Studio has. They do have several items under $ 100, just thought I should point that out. This place is good for business professional clothing, LBDs(little black dresses), and nights out on the town.

I love the clothes at Max Studio. They do great design. That being said, I walked into this store and was greeted by a sales person who literally looked me up and down, and just walked away. My boyfriend was with me and commented: «You just got the you-can’t-afford-anything-in-here look.» The fact that he picked up on the insult is bad, considering that he never shops or pays attention to other people. It’s ok, though. I understand that, as a sales assistant at a moderately high-end corporate chain store found at most malls in the United States, you automatically become a higher class of being. This could be why no one is shopping here. Thank goodness they have a website, because I won’t be giving the store any money.

This is the perfect shop for the bohemian, air-inspired look. Fluffy dresses and cable knit sweaters inspired by Swiss craft works can be found here. If you like Philip Lim or Polo, stop here for a lower price point and change of scenery. The good thing about here is that not many people seem to shop here! Recently they have been putting balloons all over their windows though. Not to sure about that…:)
