The only reason I am giving this salon 2 stars is credited to the very sweet stylist, I cannot remember her name. Positive: I called looking for a same day appointment and to get out within 4 hours and the owner, «Miss,» assured me that I could get in and out. I was relieved because my usual braid salon was closed that day. Negative: I was ecstatic that I could get a same day appointment as the next day I was going out of town. I told Miss on the phone that I had short hair and a mohawk and wanted to know the price for Senegalese twist. She told me the regular price was $ 160 which included the hair but that as my hair was shorter she would charge me $ 140. I told her that I needed gold/blonde hair and she stated that she did not have any left and I’d need to bring it as she did not have time to go to the store. So I purchased $ 15 dollars worth of hair, thus my actual savings was $ 5 dollars. When I arrived her sister called her complaining that she did not want me to pay 160, so I took a picture of the length of my hair and sent it to Miss. Horrible: First I was not out of there in 4 hours, it was more like 6 hours. Miss did have blonde hair in stock but was trying to be cheap. The reason I knew she had gold/blonde hair is because I was running out and they had to use a half of pack of gold hair that was already at the shop which Miss again tried to charge $ 10 more dollars for a half of pack of hair. My hair looked a hot a$$$$ mess. I stopped the stylist 3 times and told them it looked bad. Miss tried to increase the price back to 150 because she said my hair was longer than she thought. Disclaimer my sides are shaved(which they did not braid) and my hair is about 3 inches. I refused to pay more than 140, actually I paid 137, because the hair is supposed to be included but she was being cheap. Take away: DONOTGOHERE. I’ve been getting my hair braided for more than 15 yeas in the DMV, Europe, and West Africa and I’ve never had crappy braids like this. 2 days after my hair was braided, 4 braids fell out from the root(which I called and complained), hand full unravelled, and after a month I took removed the braids because they looked horrible– I mean sliding down, coming out, my entire scalp showing. I would have taken them out sooner if I had time to get my hair braided somewhere else. My friends kept asking, I thought you were getting you’re hair braided and I told them that I did just get braids. Honestly, I think that Miss told the stylist to do a crap job because of the«5» dollar difference that she charged me for half 2/3rds the amount of hair as anyone else. I would rather have paid the full price and left a tip for an excellent job that the mess I ended up with.
