The good: close to northeast dc, capitol hill The bad: parking. I went at around 12pm on a weekday. I had to park three blocks away as nothing was available in front, also street parking is with meter. The haircut took so long that the meter had run out when I fit back to my car, I had put 45 min on it. Luckily I didn’t get a ticket. When I got to the shop I found it to be extremely small, it the size of my kitchen… I live in a DC townhouse. The ugly: probably one of the worst experiences I’ve had. I asked for a simple men’s haircut, nothing fancy, this took the barber 45min to do. Furthermore, the guy cut both of my ears with his clipper, he had to stop every few minutes to stop the bleeding. When I got home I examined the cut and noted that there we patches of hair that he missed. I think he may have been new at styling hair. To add insult to injury I was charged full price as I walked out holding paper towel against my bleeding ear. Bottom line, I don’t think I will be returning.

The shop was open late(9pm) and I got a great cut. The owner Warren was nice to talk to and I plan on heading back.

This is a review that honestly pains me to write. From the moment I walked into the shop, Mr. Easley was nothing but kind to me, incredibly polite, and gracious. I think he actually opened the shop specifically for me, as all of his staff were out on break for the new year. And he tried very hard to give me the haircut I was looking for. That being said, what you come for is a haircut, and this was one of the worst haircuts I’ve ever received. I don’t think that he actually knew what I meant when I was describing a «choppy, layered» look for my hair. I ended up with some awkward rows of cuts and a buzz way too high up along the side of my head near the ear. I respect him immensely for offering the cut free of charge since I wasn’t satisfied, but I would have respected him even more if he had simply said he didn’t know how to do what I was asking. I don’t know about the other people on his staff– my impression is that Mr. Easley himself usually is not doing the hair cutting himself, so your experience may be totally different.

Warren Easley has been my barber since I moved to the area in 2008. He is friendly, professional and dedicated to quality. He doesn’t allow typical mysogonistic posturing and foul language. He operates a family-friendly shop that is available for youth, women and professionals. I highly recommend his shop and his stylists for those who live in the Capitol Hill, Trinidad and surrounding areas. I live in Ft. Totten but still make my way over to his shop because I reward good service with loyalty.

The day I happened upon Mister Easley’s shop, located between 13th and Florida Avenue NE, was one of great delight. My nephews were visiting for the summer and each needed hair fresh cuts for city life. A friend of mine had visited the shop prior and raved about the service, shop ambiance and staff professional demeanor. We highly agree with this assessment on all counts. The shop was clean, well decorated and comfortably furnished to include the latest in DVD showings(the boys really liked that). We arrived and had a short wait time but by the time me and the boys left, not only were they well groomed, instructed on how to properly care for their hair but they were also plugged into great summer youth programs and some spectacular pre-teen activities. The boys demanded bi-monthly haircuts, which I didn’t mind because each visit we left with special invites and insights to keep them busy through-out the summer. I loved it and so did they!

Mr. Warren Easley runs a nice professional hair establishment. From the moment you enter, he makes you feel at ease. Whether you are here for a business mans cut, a military cut, or a hip fade, he will be the man to do it! And make no mistake, he takes care of the ladies do’s too! The place is comfortable and very clean, and with the flat screen TV, it’s easy to pass time if there is someone before you. But don’t worry — if you call ahead, there is rarely much of a wait. Street parking isn’t a problem. Hey, and if you are lucky enough to call this summer, he’s running a really good special! Sorry ladies, I think it’s just for a haircut!
