Great burgers and brats! Fast service and tasty food. Just a short hop from the zoo. Hard to beat this place for a beer and good food.

The wings are insane! I will come here every time I stay at wardman park. They are sweet spicy fried and grilled. Wing heaven!

I have given it many shots because I liked the wings, but the service is SO bad — every time. They are always understaffed on busy nights, and it takes forever to get food, drinks or appetizers. The staff are also extremely unfriendly regardless of how busy they are. I was once in the first party there for lunch and the guy was still very dismissive even though we were the only folks in the place. I have been waited on by a few different people and they all made no effort to be personable or to add to the experience; it is almost like it is a theme or feel they are going for. The wings are very good on a good night, but have also been blah, and last time — I swear to god — I got a wing with feathers still on it, all drenched in sauce. What on earth?! The wait was so bad for food that my waiter actually gave it to me on the house, which was surprising because until that point I could have sworn that he had something against me personally. But in the end, though the check was picked up, they never gave me my second order of wings. The place is honestly just a disaster with occasionally good wings. Not going back.

I didn’t know about this place driving by however my friend Denis and I saw a parking space open and decided to give it a try as we had some time to kill. David I believe was our waiter. A really nice and knowledgeable waiter. I had the home made lasagna and my friend had the ravioli. Big portions and good prices. We were the only ones because they closed the entire place down for a party. I plan on coming back here.

Best fried pickles ever! Great for a cheap beer, good wings, and friendly staff. Salads and sandwiches are nothing to write home about. Trivia on Tuesdays!

Very nice neighborhood Irish Pub. Stopped in Saturday night around 8:30 for a pint of Guinness(they will serve a half pint as well, which my wife prefers). The inside very much looks like a pub in Ireland. The crowd was a nice mix of young and older neighborhood people enjoying a drink, conversation and the college football games on the TV. They had a great selection of beers on draft and bottle, although we stuck with the Guinness. We were going to go down the street for dinner after our drinks, but decided to stay and enjoy the vibe. We had hamburgers, which we both enjoyed. The fries were crisp and hot. To sum, this is more of a bar than a Resturant. A great place for a relaxing drink. That said, the food while basic is well done.

Great little pub near the zoo. Kid friendly(in the afternoons at least) with high chairs, kids menus, and friendly staff. Also really knowledgeable bar and great whiskey selection for the grownups :) The food was basic burgers and fries American fare, but it was a great place to unwind after a long day.

Good service with a personable bearded waiter/bartender. Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Grilled BBQ chicken sandwich was a knockout. I would highly recommend it. Good burgers as well. Seems like it would be a great place to hangout and have a few drinks.

Shitty. We had table service for one beer before the bartender told us we had to order from the bar. He was horribly rude. Angry little guy with a patchy beard. My friend and I ordered from the bar after and when the check came it was $ 120. He said that we were there since 9 and it was just. That was at 11p. According to my receipt that means my friend had 9 Cripsin Ciders and I had 8 Stellas. In less than two hours. If you go here, pay in cash as you go. I won’t be back and I suggest you don’t go.

Wing Wednesday is what everyone raves about in their reviews. I just had the DC Style wings with Mumbo sauce and I’ll be back for them on a Wednesday coming soon. Delicious! Nice, small, and laid back pub. I did trivia here once and had a lot of fun. Service has been good the several times I’ve visited and my friends like their beer selection. Not a bad spot to enjoy some subs and some friends!

Wing Wednesdays! Wing Wednesdays! Wing Wednesdays! Awesome, divey, Irish pub in Cleveland Park! 50 cent wings on Wednesdays, $ 4 well drinks, and $ 1 off all drafts. Service is excellent– hysterical and so welcoming. This place is always a good time!

Mmm the wings are so good. Especially the ones with the old bay seasoning. So flavorful. Get the crispin cider too on the side. Sit at the bar and if it’s empty they’ll turn on whatever you want to watch on the tv.

An update is in order, as I’ve been here many times since my last review. It seems like my poo-pooing the food was a bit hasty, as the wings are delicious. And plenty of tasty sauce options, too. They’re legitimately good wings, not just good for a pub. Still not crazy about the other food options, but who cares — get the wings and be happy. The rotating beers continue to impress, and the bartenderd are great, so it’s become a regular Sunday happy hour hangout.

Sadly, I have to update my review for Nanny’s. After visiting this spot several times as it is a great neighborhood spot for live music, with an Irish flair, my husband, two friends, and I had the worst experience we’ve ever had at any bar in the DMV here on Saturday night. The bar was not crowded, so service was relatively fast, but the bar was being manned by the rudest bartender I’ve ever met. He was unfriendly all night despite the fact that my husband spent well over $ 100 and tipped him 20 percent. The four of us live nearby and as two couples out together, we were simply sitting at a table, enjoying beers and some Fireball shots. My husband went to order another round and the bartender cut us off despite the fact that we were some of the most sober-acting people in the bar. He then proceeded to demand the bouncer kick us out when my husband asked why he wouldn’t serve us. He was extremely rude and indignant, and even the bouncer was confused as to why we were being treated that way. We will never return to this establishment because of the way we were treated, especially considering how often we go in and how much money we had spent, including a generous tip for a bartender whom did not deserve it. Really disappointing, and it still makes me mad when I think of how we were treated.

Walked in here on a whim, not knowing what to expect and left pleasantly surprised. The owner is a great guy and very friendly, the beer selection is extensive and the food was delicious. I ordered the veggie burger and I loved it. The fries were excellent as well. I ordered one of my all-time favorite beers, Fat Tire and I was satisfied as usual. The old-school cartoons playing on the projection screen was the icing on the cake. I highly recommend Nanny O’Brien’s. p. s. a friend told me their wings are excellent so I’ll have to update this status when I get a chance to try them.

Wing night! Gotta get there early to beat the crowd but the wings are so good. No skimping on the meat, lots of sauce options. The rotating taps always have something I want to drink. Dave is the surliest bar tender of all time, tip him well.

Greg is the best, most knowledgeable bartender I’ve come across in years. He’s kind, and got a great personality… what else could you want from someone who’s behind the bar?! I’ll definitely be coming back here because of him. They’ve got great specials, and project«Breaking Bad» with full sound in the back room. Totally awesome. Also, half price burgers on Sunday nights from 5−10pm. Delicious. One full star deduction because the women’s bathroom was totally difficult to walk into… I basically squeezed into the restroom as I was wedged between the door & the sink which is literally right next to the door…& Im a petite gal! Totally not cool. Hopefully, it’ll be fixed by the next time I’m back!
