As advertised, the steaks were great. We went for my wife’s birthday and they treated us well, but not«special.» I’ve been to other restaurants that observe a special occasion with a flute of champagne or whatever, but all RC did was sprinkle some birthday confetti on the table. I do not recommend the stuffed mushrooms(appetizer) or the creamed spinach(side). Also, if you are like me and want to get«dressed up» for a nice dinner(sportscoat for him; dress for her), this isn’t your place. Other patrons were in ripped-up jeans, sweatshirts, flanel, etc.

We love Ruth Chris Steakhouse. We usually eat at the one in Uptown Charlotte, but this one is just as good.

Apparently my waiter would rather bartend and flirt with these 3 ladies than take care of the paying customers in his section. Get it together Ruth Chris Management.

Hard to beat the steaks. We shared a Cowboy Ribeye with the shrimp add on. The steak was cooked perfectly and the flavor was spectacular. I found the portion was more than enough for two. We also shared a Caesar salad which was also very good. Dropped to 4 stars for two reasons. Our first choice of wine was unavailable and the add on shrimp was ho hum and not worth the extra expense. Still highly recommend if you want one of the most tender and flavorful steaks around.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving feast and were pleasantly surprised by their special holiday offerings that included an entrée, a salad, a side and dessert. It was surprisingly busy. I’m taking 2 stars off purely based on the service. We were sat in a booth in the lounge area and were basically not assigned an official server. Our empty plates sat in front of us for over 30 minutes and I had to ask for the table to be cleared after multiple people repeatedly passed us by. Another 20 minutes later I had to ask for our dessert and then I had to ask for the check. Although they seemed to have a lot of staff on hand and everyone was generally friendly, the service itself was very unorganized. We were seated at 1:30pm and were just now able to leave at 3:40 after trying endlessly to get someone to pay attention us when we needed something. Thankfully the meal was great and we were in no hurry, but the service is a huge deterrent for returning. The managers were running around and also seemed pretty indifferent to us.

My least favorite Ruth’s Chris of all of those I’ve visited. The food is pretty good, but because the service is sub par, the staff is mediocre at best, drinks inconsistent and the manager is nonexistent, that cancels the food out everytime. Service should be commensurate with price.

It doesn’t get much better than this. The steak is served piping hot with butter on top! The most tender piece of meat I have ever had! The sweet potato casserole is infamously delicious. The service is impeccable. I absolutely love this restaurant. Valet parking is offered at this location.

Food was great as usual but the drink u ordered am was so strong I didn’t drink it and the harvest salad was swimming in dressing, so I didn’t eat it. The waiter brought the check and had removed the salad but the drink sat untouched as well and it was quite pricey. I would say that left a bad taste for me because I visit every Ruth Christ in every city I travel too and this is a first…

This is a review for their happy hour. Ruth Chris has a fantastic happy hour for food, great choice near Verizon Center if you’re heading to a game or concert. Happy Hour is 4:30−7 and they have some great choices for $ 8. We got the Steak Sandwich with fries, Spicy Lobster, and Crab BLT with zucchini fries, which were all great. Although the spicy lobster portion is smaller, it is a good choice and it comes with a marinated cucumber salad. The only downside of their happy hour is the $ 4 beer only includes Miller Lite and seats are limited, so get there early!

I came here for restaurant week and the service was phenomenal! Our waiter was Jonathan! He is absolutely wonderful. Had the pleasure of trying the ravioli as an appetizer and I almost licked my plate clean. It was so yummy. The ceaser salad I had was fresh and my steak was cooked perfectly. I wanted more. I will def go back. After dinner we went to the bar. The bartender Daniel was amazing as well. Great service and happy consumer!

HAPPYHOURREVIEW: Of course, we’ve heard the amazing things about the happy hours at Ruth’s Chris: how it’s a bomb-diggity deal, the portions are big enough to serve as a meal, and that the food is good. Even though the prices have gone up from $ 7 to $ 8 for everything, it’s still a really good deal. Happy hour seating is on the right when you walk in, with plenty of little tables for you to sit down at so that you’re not crowding the bar with strangers. You still get to sit, unwind, enjoy a calmer, chic-er ambiance. I got the crab BLT, which is served on garlic bread. Yes, that means it’s a little messier(garlic buttery fingers!) but it’s worth it, trust me. ALSO it comes with really delicious zucchini fries and a roasted red pepper ranch that has a bit of a tang and sweetness that I loved.(You know me, I love dipping sauces.) Really generous with the crab, too, so I was happy for that. My friend can’t eat gluten, so she ordered the seared ahi tuna, which comes with a mustard sauce that tastes kind of like wasabi. We also split the spicy lobster because; — They use corn starch, so it’s GF-safe — Check the post-happy hour pricing on this — ITTASTESYUMMY If you like honey walnut shrimp, and/or that kind of thousand island sauce flavor, and you don’t mind a decent bit of a kick, you’ll love this. My friend also got the pomegranate martini, which was pretty yummy. Since it was happy hour, we weren’t hovered over by waitstaff. If you’re expecting more traditional wait-service, you’ll have to get the traditional dining menu. If you want to kick back with good food, good drinks, a quiet and classy atmosphere… go to Ruth’s Chris happy hour. Its definitely a really good deal.

This place used to be one of my favorites, but my how a few mo tha have change… I asked for lite cheese on my stuffed chicken but was told I have to order it with no cheese!!! My the service has decreased tremendously in here. Guess I will continue to go to Del Frisco’s because at this point I haven’t had a bad experience there…(See the new way to get lite cheese in the picture)

Came her on a Saturday & was surprised that it wasn’t crowded! I was so happy that they have valet-parking($ 10) because it is hell trying to find parking in DC! I had the blue crab cakes(Yummy) and the lobster mac&cheese(Yummy) the waiter was so attentive! My drink was nice & strong! I will definitely be back!

(01÷01÷15) My friend and I were in the midst of a marathon life affirming discussion on the phone when she suggested we meet to finish. She loves steakhouses and suggested Ruth’s Chris. Being aware of the limited fish options, I reluctantly accepted the invite. We arrive just before 6pm and was happy it wasn’t crowded in the bar area. We ordered coconut ginger lemon drop martinis while trying to decide on the food. It was tasty but really sweet. Too sweet for my friend, she sent it back then the dining experience declined from there. The gaffes are listed below in no particular order… –Feeling indecisive, I asked the server to provide some recommendations. He said you all should know that you can order off the Happy Hour menu, but there are no Happy Hour prices today… Then crickets(awkwardly long pause)… I asked what about your nonmeat food options. –I finally settled on the apple walnut salad and stuffed chicken breast. The chicken was severely over-seasoned, the only sign of the garlic herb cheese was a hard crispy area on the side of the chicken and no lemon butter. –The few bites of the chicken left me so dehydrated, I had to keep asking for more water. Shouldn’t my server monitor things like that? After a while, I just stopped asking and he never refilled our glasses again. –My friend ordered coffee and I noticed the cup was only half full. When we inquired, he said we do that to allow space for cream. A half of cup worth of space is a lot! –Since when are babies and toddlers welcomed in the bar area? Perhaps I missed the memo. I did notice that the mom of the 3-month old received a properly prepared stuffed chicken breast which disappointed me even more. When the server finally returned I asked for the check. He placed it on the table and went away for 2 minutes max. He had to correct it to remove one martini. My friend said«we’ll let you know when we’re ready» and he just stood there watching and waiting. I asked what time they closed trying to figure out the newfound urgency to settle the check. Subpar dining experience especially for the price point.

So this review is for their Happy Hour only: I went to Happy Hour with a few friends(about 12). It is from 4:30pm to 7pm and you can get some good choices at a cost of $ 8. The location is metro accessible — about 1 block from the Gallery Place Metro(9th& G St. Exit). The bar area itself is a bit tight at this location. I have been to a few other Ruth’s Chris locations in the past 2 months and their bar areas were a lot bigger than this one. At the time that I arrived, about 3 of us were sharing 1 round table. Outside of that, there were only about 6 other tables in the bar area(so I would not recommend this location for groups) — a few tables sat 2 folks and the others sat 4 folks. It was interesting to see how we were going to share this one circular table with 12 folks — some of us ended up at the bar(to drink & eat); others decided to wait it out for other folks heading out after they were done. It eventually happened like maybe 1 to 1.5 hours after we arrived and was able to gather together more tables and more seats. It was then most of the eating commenced and I think most of my friends were pleased with what they had chosen. I think each of my friends had a least one of the food items on the HH menu(I am not going to list those items only because I don’t know what their thoughts were after eating). Since this is not my first visit to Ruth’s Chris, I can tell you what I have tried and they both tasted good: Prime Burger with Fries and Crab BLT with Zucchini Fries — $ 8 a piece during Happy Hour is a steal. The drinks at this location were on point too. So if you want to get a taste of Ruth’s Chris, I say go and check out their Happy Hour as you might go back for a full meal. 3.5 stars

so… here’s the secret: monthly handcrafted cocktail dinner. WHAT. amazing. and totally worth it. I can’t wait to go back. So the food is amazing, the cocktails are amazing, and the portions are ridiculous. I can not believe I ate all of that. I probably shouldn’t have but… no regrets. But yea, the dishes are explained, and we got demos and instructions on how each cocktail is made. It was a good time. First course: Maple-Bourbon-Glazed Jumbo Shrimp with five bean salad: I wasn’t a HUGE fan of the five bean salad, but it did taste unique – I usually don’t like kidney beans and this made them tastier than normal. Paired with Seelbach Sparkling cocktail-not very sweet, very sparkly and refreshing. Second course: Seared ahi tuna steak with slaw, crispy rice cake, fresh cilantro oil: LOVED this. I had a sample of their ahi tuna at the Unilocal 10th anniversary bash and this dish did not disappoint. Ruth’s Chris knows how to sear some good tuna. The rice cake was a little weird for me, just seemed like overcooked rice formed into a patty… but the flavors were great. Paired with Moscow Mule: this was delicious! the candied ginger on top really set off the drink, and it can also be described as refreshing, due to the ginger ale and lime juice. Third course: Slow-roasted pork, arepa corn cake, creole sauce, fresh avocado. The avocado on this was amazingg… and the corn cake was amazinnggg. With the pork it was the perfect combo. The creole sauce reminded me of the cheese sauce that comes with Peruvian papa la huancaina haha. Paired with: Agave Bees Knees – this was my favorite drink of the night. I love tequila. Don Julio tequila especially… and then the lemon and honey(as everyone said at my table) made it a little medicinal – but I loved that about it. It was really mild and tasted great. It also came with a honey stick, which was yummy to suck on. Fourth course: Sizzling filet mignon with crispy fried shallots, horseradish crème fraîche. So… this is the most red meat I’ve had in probably 9 years… and I finished the whole thing. I usually don’t eat red meat by choice because I don’t like the texture or taste too much… but…with the sizzling butter this was amazing… I am coming back for steak hahah. Paired with New-Fashioned.yea this was way too strong for me. hahah. It’s Ruth’s Chris’ take on the Old Fashioned. They add orange rind, and also the Italian Amarena Cherry – which was the sweetest, most delicious cherry I’ve ever had. Yum Fifth course: Chocolate dipped Cookie trio with seasonal berries and crème anglaise: droooolll… I’m usually not a fan of biscotti or shortbread, but when dipped in chocolate and soaked in crème… whoa. Yea I ate everything. Chilled vanilla Irish coffee: this was great, the whipped crème had cinnamon in it, it tasted heavenly. The coffee was great, but I would’ve liked it to be a little colder or iced, even. It was a great end to the evening, though. At the end they even had a raffle for a basket of goodies including bottles of liquor! In summary… whoa. If you get a chance, try the cocktail pairing. You will not regret it. I want to go back soon.

AMAZING! I have always loved Ruth’s Chris Steak House — my only two other experiences with it were for two birthday celebrations in 2011 and in 2012 at the location in Beverly Hills, CA. I wanted to visit again and my boyfriend and I found the perfect opportunity to do so in DC when I got invited to a Unilocal Elite appreciation dinner. I got a complimentary five-course meal(along with a bourbon tasting for every course) and he was my +1. I will write a separate review of the Unilocal Elite event, but I have to say the food at the event was AMAZING. Ruth’s Chris never fails me. I liked this experience even better than my other Ruth’s Chris experiences! The service was impeccable. Our waiter overheard me telling everyone at the table that I didn’t like chocolate and he offered to bring me strawberry cheesecake for dessert instead of the chocolate option they had. WOW! I didn’t even have to ask for the substitution and they brought out the most amazing cheesecake for me! Impeccable service, ambrosial food, excellent atmosphere. Your money is well spent at Ruth’s Chris! I will certainly visit again. It’s my favorite steakhouse EVER. And, just to highlight the amazing courses we got: 1. Bruschetta, paired with a Knob Creek Old Fashioned 2. BBQ Shrimp, paired with Jim Beam Single Barrel Classic Mint Julep 3. Steakhouse Salad, paired with Jim Beam Devil’s Cut Bourbon Street Manhattan 4. 6 ounce filet served with garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed mushrooms, paired with Baker’s East Side Manhattan 5. Chocolate Sin Cake, paired with Maker’s 46 Port of Manhattan(this is the one they substituted for me, since I don’t like chocolate — and I got an amazing strawberry cheesecake) And there was a Booker’s Neat to end the meal. WOWOW.

I went to a special event at this Ruth’s Chris location last week called«The World of Cabernet Dinner». The location itself has a larger dining room than some other Ruth’s Chris that I have been to in the past, so it would be great for a nice birthday/retirement/graduation dinner, etc. My meal was phenomenal as were all of the wines I was served throughout the five course meal. The dishes I was served were as follows: Wild Salmon Steak with tomato, basil and white wine sauce; Steak Consommé with herb dumplings; Seared Tenderloin Salad with fresh mozzarella, beets and chimichurri pesto; Sizzling Filet Mignon with caramelized onions; and an artisanal cheese plate for dessert. My table service was outstanding as it always is at Ruth’s Chris but the hosts and bar area were sub-par for Ruth’s Chris’ standards in my eyes.

We tried to get into Proof and Zaytinya but we were too late. That was 6 pm on Saturday. Ruth Chris also booked till 8. Arghhh! We were lucky to get a table in the bar area. It is meant to be. Serendipity sort of day. The wine selection is in par with the foods. The wine by the glass selection($ 23-$ 25) are from Duckhorn, Silver Oak, and Chalone vineyards, etc. it is sooo important like an harmonious marriage. The Ruth Chris classic prize fixe is a deal for $ 54 – 58 and $ 47 for salad or soup, entrée, and desserts. The steak is served sizzling hot on the heated plate, just the way it should be. The filet mignon cut is ok with some crust in every bite but it is not the best I have ever had. If you are on diet and take no butter and trans fat, you can skip this restaurant. If you want to be on cloud nine or on self indulgence food trip, please come in and have a seat(please please please make reservation).

We went to Ruth’s Chris Happy Hour before the Kings of Leon Concert at the Verizon Center. The food deals are great. Everything is $ 7 on the HH menu, but after 7pm the price jumps to $ 18-$ 21!!! I loved the Steak Sandwich with the Bearnaise Sauce, Spicy Lobster, and the Crab BLT with the zucchini fries. One bad thing is if you don’t come early to HH, you will be waiting over an hour for seats or you might not get seats at all. People there are notorious for straight up chilling.
