The store is easy to find and has ample parking. Some of the prices are better than Aldi. The employees are friendly. One challenge is getting your groceries to the car. You can’t exit with your cart to the parking lot. The carts are locked in by all the bars on the sidewalk. I left my cart and quickly pulled up to the curb to load my groceries.

Shopped here for the first time since it replaced the old Safeway and thIs store space is smaller than the old Safeway was. It has both brand and own or off-brand items. I think the rest of the space was taken by Big Lots(nextdoor) which I’ll check out another time. Prices at this Save-a-Lot seem less than Giant but more than Aldi. Got fresh fruit(bananas), frozen fish(salmon and cod), laundry detergent, ground pork, biscuit mix and lactose-free milk here. They also had some good specials(chicken and soda and other things of which I didn’t avail myself as already got them elsewhere). My only criticism was I couldn’t find shelf labels to price some items(missing or in wrong place). The cashier was very friendly and surprised it was the first time I’d shopped there and welcomed me warmly. They have a shelf for you to load your stuff into your own bags but I didn’t see it at first as it’s in the front window. I’m sure I’ll be coming back here again for food top-ups since I’ve been having bad experiences lately at the Giant over at «Rhode Island Row.» And the parking here is better with far more spaces! Also the shopping carts are new and the sanitizer thing actually had wipes in it. Note that this is not a «trendy chic» store — just a good non-gourmet grocery place.
