I’ve been coming to see Rashan for a year now. I get compliments on my hair all the time. He has a great sense of style. Whenever I’m being indecisive or unsure about a certain aspect of my next cut, I trust his instincts over mine. I look forward to my hair appointments. The staff is a pleasure to be around and I always walk out feeling 100% satisfied. For $ 20, I can get a men’s cut that looks like it’s been customized for me. I’ve been to a barber regularly in for men’s haircuts before but they didn’t always nail it. It often didn’t look quite right on me. So I’m very grateful that I discovered Rashan and have him in my corner! I highly recommend him and I also hope to see the salon for many more years to come.

I love Rashan! He always takes the time needed to get it done right the first time! I went in yesterday for a second time. My first time I got my hair straightened and trimmed (I’m natural). It was great! And no heat damage! This time I went to get a full head weave for an upcoming vacation. Although it took quite a few hours, he didn’t rush and listened and did everything I asked for. I kept in contact with him for weeks before hand and he followed up with me a day later. Also. The shampooing part of treatment was AMAZING!

I’ve been getting my hair cut there for a while. Rashawn cuts my hair but there are other great barbers on staff. The Shop is primarily a salon for women. It’s located on busy Florida Ave. and 7^th Street. So there is transportation, both bus and train. So if you are looking for a place to get your hair taken care of consider The Red Chair!

I have been going to Rashan since my freshman year at Howard in 2007. He is the only person I trust in the DMV to style my hair. He does wonderful work from natural hair to weave. He has helped me to correct the damage from swimming, as well as transition from relaxers to natural hair. He definitely takes care of your hair and will advise you on the upkeep of your hair. I’ve been a dedicated Unilocal troller for a few years now, but this is my first review because all of my fellow Unilocalers out there need to know how awesome Rashan at The Red Chair is. If you look through the pictures, I’m the girl with the smooth side ponytail, the super long curly hair that I trusted Rashan to cut up to my ears (it turned out super cute!), and the little bob he did after it grew a bit.
Rashan is very sweet & easy to talk to, his prices are extremely reasonable, and it’s convenient to make appointments by just shooting him a text. He has been formally trained and currently teaches at a cosmetology school, so you know he’s an expert with a passion for styling hair. Talk about fabulous — he often styles wigs for the divas at Nellie’s Sports Bar! Whenever I come out of the salon I get a million compliments on how my wildly thick curly hair has been transformed to beautiful, bouncy silk. Want to look your new year’s best? I sure do! That’s why I’m seeing Rashan tomorrow. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the C Alan Salon and with Rashan’s services. The place is very warm and relaxing. Rashan’s prices do not break my budget and you get top notch hair services. The most important part is Rashan was so friendly and he provided me with excellent customer service. I have seen Rashan on two occasions for a sew-​in weave. He really took time to listen to what I wanted and adjust as needed. He gave me a style that I can wear to work and be conservative and taught me how to make it a little more fun for the weekends. He also didn’t braid my hair and sew-​in the weave where it was too tight. I was surprised it lasted for so long because I didn’t feel the normal tightness I was accustomed to. I will definitely be back for other services.
