The University Club and River Horse Bistro

I’m not a boy but I feel a bit o’ one whenever I eat here. You’ll see ladies who lunch, preppies with parents… and lots of business types. The service is okay. Not great. The French fries are thin and sweet (the sweet potato ones). Sometimes the food is a little on the dry side. The Cobb salad is large. The back garden room is pleasantly sunny. The courtyard is nice for outdoor seating and the basement is loud. This place is HUGE! I like the burger. Simply good. Served on sweet onion brioche type bun. Prices are normal.
This place is better than most in the area. And gets the fourth star for potential and character. Right ho!

This is right across the street from my office, and this makes me happy. I thought the food and prices here were right on. The salads were huge, my BBQ chipotle chicken quesadilla was California-​level. The steak salad was also good. Everything on the diverse menu looked promising with exciting condiments, etc. The service (they ran out of exceptionally refreshing iced tea and comped it, and brought me another drink for free) and ambiance were high-​class and country clubby at totally reasonable prices ($ 9-​$ 12). We were there for 2 hours, and not rushed in any way. I would be proud, and could afford, to take my mommy here. And feed her well. This place should be booked solid and more expensive, but don’t tell them that.
