VINCE.

I visited the store for the first time on a Tue during lunch break. Excellent service — the right balance between attentive while still giving me space. Also they picked some cute outfits to go with the shoes — some things I wouldn’t have picked on my own but was glad they did. I tried shoes on and walked around in them in the store for maybe 20 minutes just to make sure they were comfortable and no one was bothered by this. They also honored the 10% coupon you get when you sign up online, though the manager initially told me she couldn’t. I asked her to try and then when she took a closer look at my email she realized it said «online or in store.»

On Saturday, I bought a pair of sneakers, a dress, and a vest. The sneakers were marked final sale and I was told I could not return them before confirming I still wanted to buy them. The dress was marked 40% off retail price, and I was not told the same thing. In fact, my receipt only had a stamp that said «Final Sale» for the shoes so I did not anticipate having issues with returning the dress until I brought the dress and vest back to return. The vest was not an issue as it was full priced but I was upset I could not return the dress. All I got from Casey was that sales are final. I didn’t want to put up a fight and was not interested in looking at other items in the store since I felt misled at the time of purchase.
Instead, I left the store with the dress (which is beautiful but expensive) and checked the receipt. I could have exchanged for store credit but Casey didn’t tell me this. She also was not as friendly or polite this time either. I guess they work on commission here. In any case, the lack of information, courtesy, and prices will have me going to Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack for my Vince products.
By the way, Nordstrom does a great price match, had the vest on sale, and has tremendous customer service. I didn’t encounter issues with returning a Theory dress from Nordstrom to Nordstrom Rack, and I could return a Vince sweater (purchased on sale) at Nordstrom Rack without a receipt.
