Holiday Inn Express Washington

Small indoor pool. No hot tub. Clean. Breakfast pretty standard. Attendant at breakfast kept things full and clean. Front desk staff very friendly.

«What are you doing?» Was the first comment received from the gal at the front desk. No «hi», «welcome» or «how are you today?» While checking in my mom tried to talk and joke with the lady who had no interest in being personable. She gave us our key card and was in the back sitting in front of the computer before the elevator doors closed on us. The 3^rd floor had fans lining the hallway, and there was a odd musty smell. Opening the room door we noticed a smell right away and decided we could not handle that the entire evening, so we went back and asked for a different room. A different lady passing by the desk asked what was wrong and said she would check it out while Miss not so Congeniality gave us a new room. The new room also had an odor but not so strong. Breakfast was not so nice. The milk was slightly off, so I switched to orange juice, but it was watered down. The pancake machine made flat rubbery pancakes, and the eggs were over cooked. Not at all what we’ve come to expect from a Holiday Inn Express.

Nice enough hotel, good breakfast and friendly employees. Breakfast is good, the automatic pancake machine is cool and makes surprisingly tasty pancakes with a touch of a button.
Warm cookies offered in the evenings are a nice touch.
