Great great great queso, wonderful flavor and my kids ate it up. The salsa was also tasty the flour and corn tortillas were great. Our server was so kind and helpful kept everything filler which makes my husband extremely happy. The qusadillas were good not great. Husband didn’t like the Carne sauce.. Over all great will go back.

Visited Fresco’s Cocina last Friday for dinner with my mentor as she’d been wanting to take me here for a little while. We sat in the covered patio which was very cool because it was more like an extension of the dining room but had an outside feel to it. It was a little chilly but there were fancy space heaters to warm the air. The menu is pretty sizable which is great for varied dietary preferences. There are salads, combos, burritos, tacos, entrée plates, Tex Mex items and more. The Acapulco Shrimp Brochette is apparently very popular. I didn’t try it but definitely want to next time. Chips and salsa are of course on the house. I liked them. The chips are thin and crispy and the salsa tasted fire roasted and like there was a little chipotle in it-worked for my tastebuds. We got the table side guac and I loved that there was the option to make it mild, medium, or spicy. We got everything in it and got it spicy. My heat tolerance level is high so it wasn’t as spicy as I would have preferred but I think it was the right kind of spicy that would complement most palates– just the right amount of heat. It was also garlicky, yum! I got the brisket tacos($ 10.50). When I saw there were only two I was afraid it wouldn’t be filling but I needn’t have worried. The tortillas are large and each one was doubled up. The brisket was tender and hearty. The tacos came with onions, cilantro, red hot sauce, and lime to squeeze over. I piled it all on-delish!The charro beans and rice were good too. The rice was purty basic but was a great vehicle for the well seasoned charro beans. I also got the sangria margarita swirl, which was $ 6 for a pint glass. Good amount and I felt great afterwards so there was just the right amount of liquor. All in all great place. They have live music many Thursdays and some Satirdays. It gets crowded in the evenings too. I’ll definitely be back if I’m in the area again.

This is a nice place to eat. I love their food and salsa. The salsa is not quite as good as La Hacienda Ranch but it is a close second. The atmosphere is nice and the service has always been very good. One of my favorite places to eat.

Probably my best Mexican hangout. Great food, great service, reasonably priced. Nice thin chips with thick salsa that sticks to the chip, not runny or chunky, just great and taste awesome. My first time here and will be back very soon.

Good place. We’ve always enjoyed our meal there. The kids love the balloon animal guy. We’d go more often, but it’s a bit on the expensive side for a family of four. The one big problem — it’s so noisy you can’t hear each other talk.

Major points for atmosphere, I love the way Fresco’s is decorated and am specifically having a love affair with their enclosed patio. Drinking a giant glass of wine on a warm patio when it’s 30 degrees outside is magical. The food is good, but I haven’t had anything life changing yet. I do love the hatch chili queso, but it’s on their seasonal menu. The best thing about their menu is that it is very vegetarian friendly, with all the veggie items clearly marked. And they have two kinds of vegetarian beans, awesome! My husband ordered a sopapilla last night and we were blown away by the bowl of sopapillas that arrived at our table. See attached picture at your own peril. Yummmm.

REALLY on the fence on this one. I think 3 stars«A-OK» probably fits. Haven’t been here since probably 6 mon after they opened. First waitress, when asked when they opened, didn’t know. Next waitress I’m guessing was in training because 2 ladies came to the table but no explanation given. Friends’ alcoholic drinks ran dry and no waitress. Food runner delivered food; gave him alcohol order. No drinks. Grabbed another waitress to find waitress. No drinks. I think the bartender himself finally delivered. One friend had Pechuga de Pollo — loved it and had leftovers. Other friend had Acapulco Shrimp Brochette. Bacon was TOAST!(Toasted?) Anyway, he ate his food(minus some bacon) and told both the waitress and the manager who came by that while he is fine with a little more char, they might want to tell the cook to back off the flame.(Oh, and we told the manager still missing alcoholic drinks.) I had«The Mexican» Steak Dinner with the 12 oz ribeye. Subbed red rice for potatoes — no problems, thank you — loved the beans, HATED the sauce on the enchilada; the parts that touched my rice I couldn’t eat. The waitress asked me when I ordered if I was okay with the red sauce(I forget the name) and I said yes, but OMG, it was truly not something I would eat… on anything. Steak was cooked as I asked — mooing with some track marks. Unfortunately because it is boneless, it came out the same color throughout so I spent a lot of time spitting out the marbling since you couldn’t look at the steak & see it. My friend thought it had too much tendon(she watched me try to cut off the marbling); I write it off to the hazards of a ribeye. Bottom line: if someone said, «Let’s go eat at Fresco’s,» I’d go. If someone wanted a recommendation it wouldn’t come to mind.

I’m on the fence about Frescos. It’s okay, but definitely not my favorite Mexican food. I’d rather go to On The Border, myself. Their queso is good, but $ 9.50 for a bowl is way too much for me. Our service was great and everyone there went out of their way to make sure our glasses were full and we weren’t lacking for anything. I think it’s too expensive for what you get, though.

DFW and Mid Cities are over populated with Tex-Mex. You can’t throw a paper airplane without hitting a place. Frescos dominates the over crowded scene with their variants on standard fare. Their house salsas all have something a bit bolder than normal, the rib tacos are decadent without being too fatty or sweet and the brisket taquitos are mesmerizing. A lot of Tex Mex places fool the average Joe by covering up their bland grub in an ocean of thinly veiled cheese sauces, you won’t get that garbage here.

I have been here a couple of times so far and will continue to go back. Please do not go in with the mindset that this is Tex Mex. It’s a bit southwestern, if you must categorize it. The salsa is interesting and has kind of sweet flavor. It took some getting used to, but it is good. The first couple of times I ordered the chicken fajita quesadillas. It came with a chipotle crema, black beans, pico, etc. Very good and a great price for the portion. The 2nd visit I actually ended up sharing it with my partner and we both left full. That is probably the best thing about this place — the portion sizes. Everything is big enough to share and then some. So while it may seem steep at a $ 14/plate pricepoint, when you share, it is worth it. My most recent trip the service was not good at all, but I will call this one a fluke since the last few times have been great.

We’ve been here twice now. Once on a Sunday for an early lunch and then yesterday evening for dinner. The first time we were really impressed with our food. The salsa is roasted and is so good. The chips are thin and crispy and fresh. The first time my husband was offered a trio of additional salsas, two of which he really liked. They were hotter than what they automatically bring to the table. Both times we’ve gotten the same thing. For my husband the mixed fajitas. The difference here really is the additional vegetables that come with the fajitas — broccoli and cauliflower are what automatically stood out. Very different than your typical fajitas, but my husband really liked them. Both times I’ve created my own combo. Both times I’ve gotten the chicken flauta as one of my choices. I don’t remember my second choice the first time, but yesterday I got the chicken soft taco. The flautas are really good, the chicken taco I didn’t care for so much. Too sweet for my liking. I have to remind myself that the food is somewhat of a different style than the average Tex-Mex around here. Both of us commented on how the food wasn’t AS impressive this time around. In general, the food is good. The restaurant itself is nice and open. I like the décor and how it is set up. The wait staff each time was great. Our waiter yesterday was a great kid. He mentioned how he’s headed back to Austin for UT in a couple of days so we talked about Austin for a bit. He was very nice and very accommodating. Will we go back to Fresco’s? I’m sure we will. I think I would like to branch out and try something else off of their menu. It’s a comfortable place. The first time we were there it wasn’t too crowded because it was fairly early. Yesterday it was more crowded with it being dinnertime. But I have the impression that they stay busy.

What an amazing place. I have been coming here for over 7 years and it is a staple of my diet. The staff and management are amazing and nothing better than walking in where everyone knows your name and service and food is always consistent. No wonder it is packed for hours every weekend. Only thing I would change is the bar. They need a bar. We love to sit at the bar and it kills my knees. Please make the investment for a bar.

Go for the salsa! It is absolutely amazing. I got my food to go but the salsa was great and the queso was good. The chips are thin and crispy. Even though I got my food to go, it was delicious. I got the combo with the cheese enchilada, chicken enchilada, and the brisket tamale. All three were very good and the tamale is a meal itself(it’s huge!). Overall very good. I definitely will be coming back to dine in!

Wow what an amazing restaurant. The food is by far better than any restaurant I have been to(including Papasitos). And more amazing is the service. Ana made me feel so welcome. Definitely ask for her table. I had the Guacamole made at my table and the Brisket enchiladas plus the Esquites which was to die for. I travel all over USA and by far this is one of the best Tex-Mex restaurant. Please don’t miss the chance to have a delicious meal and a friendly and welcoming server, Ana

I have eaten at Frescos for eleven years. I admit up front a bias. I don’t like them, never have. My daughter does. Took the family there on her insistence. I’ve eaten a lot of Mexican food across Texas and New Mexico. Chips are micro thin, crumbled. All of them were crumbled in several baskets of chips. Not edible. Salsa is Chipotle smokey flavor if you like that type. We asked for another salsa, it was tomato sauce. So either basic tomato or chipotle. Not enjoyable either way. Cheese dip was good. This was one thing I can say wasn’t bad. Mango tea was nominal. My wife ordered one cheese enchilada. It came with some strange brown sauce. The waiter said it was red sauce, but it was brown. My wife and I have eaten a lot of Mexican food across Texas and New Mexico. I know red and green sauces. We lived in South Texas for 7 years and I know enchilada sauce. This was gross. It had a molasses mole combination flavor, was sweet, and nasty. Had to send it back. Very rare we ever send anything back anywhere. The waiter said it isn’t something customers enjoy. At least he was honest. My wife asked for salsa verde on her replacement, she said it was average. If you don’t like fresh onions on everything, you better tell them. Tons of fresh onion. The number one quesadilla with no meat was good enough, not special, but edible. My daughter got cheese enchiladas with cheese sauce, she liked it. Sat on the patio, beautiful evening. Live music was good. Waiter was decent. The atmosphere was nice. Prices are high if you ask me. I still am not a fan, though I keep an open mind and try something different each time my daughter wants to come here. I just can’t find much that is redeeming about this place.

Seriously Fresco’s. Your server chase spills an entire dish of sauce all over my son-n-law and he doesn’t offer to take anything off the bill? When I say spill, I’m talking all over his sweater sleeve, jeans, shoes. Well, at least Chase offered a free sopa pilla. Disappointing to say the least! This will cost our future patronage unfortunately!!! In a world of social media you simply can not do enough to take care of your customers!

I am upping my review to 5 stars. I had previously docked them a star due to all the TV’s being audible. Well, we gave them another try and were very pleased to find out that the TV’s were on mute and some nice music playing. Yeah!

We have visited Fresco’s a number of times and we like it but are aware that friends have had bad experiences. The food has always been spot on and we like the uniqueness of some of the dishes. I like the bacon wrapped shrimp and then the fajitas. My wife usually gets something lighter and I believe she enjoys the fish entrees. I will say that the chairs that face the seating bank are uncomfortable but we cannot find many faults with Fresco’s.
