Overall– Amazing pizzas! Definitely worth a stop. Service– it was quite a busy night but our waitress was on her toes and always helping our large group of 12 people. Food– the special blackboard pies were amazing. Great flavors/combinations! Can’t think of any pizza that wasn’t awesome in flavor. Drinks– the drinks were a tad strong but that is nothing to complain about. Atmosphere– fun VT crowd.

We visited the Waitsfield location, the food was decent but little expensive for what it was. Now on to the issue with this place. They have a decent tap list but serve using terribly dirty glasses. I sent a beer back and tried to explain to the waiter how to tell when a beer glass is dirty he was not interested and brought me another beer in a dirtier glass. They are serving decent craft beer in dirty glasses which is very bad form, makes me question the health of this place over all. I am a brewer and you do not serve craft beer in dirty glasses. Even Budwiser representatives warn servers about using clean glassware. I would stay away from this place till they clean thier act up.

Blackboard specials are out of this world! Some of the best pizza I’ve had in VT! Yet, the slices not off the blackboard were just okay. I love the environment here and wonderful beer and cocktail selection. The only thing this place is missing is live unplugged music. It seems like such a natural place for music and something Waterbury is lacking. Food for thought Blue Stone. Will definitely be returning and look forward to trying other wonderful sounding selections from their menu.

I was not really impressed with the place. I thought the draft beers were overly expensive and they happened to be out of the cheaper brand(one that I really liked) the night I was there. As far as the food was concerned, the burger that I ordered medium had to be sent back because it was barely cooked. The second burger was not much better. The burgers didn’t include any fries or even a pickle and, for the price I feel I should have gotten more.

My fiancé and I took a trip down to Vermont over the weekend and we came here for dinner. We wanted to go to a place that was local instead of your run of the mill everyday restaurant. It has a great atmosphere with great food! The pizza was heavenly! If you are in the area, definitely go here! You won’t regret it.

It’s very hard I am learning in Vermont, to find a beer tap list that isn’t at minimum, mind-blowingly great. With that being said Blue Stone also offers excellent choices of pizza, fresh local toppings, and excellent ambience. The bar is roomy, and filled with great beer selections. The main chalk wall on your left when you enter is what you want to pay attention to. Here are written the fresh item flatbread pies and the staffs recommendations on toppings to go with them. Had a fantastic local Vermont Mozarella, with vine ripe tomatoes, charred sweet peppers, garlic cloves, basil, and a nice balsamic reduction. Soft, chewy, bursting with flavor, sweetness and acid tartness with the balsamic, divine. Really good pizza. Only minor complaint, it cooled off a little too fast along with the served fries. Another good pie joint in the state is always nice to know about. Definitely worth a visit.

Great selection of brews, both local and regional. Pizzas were really fine. Friendly staff, clean, reasonable prices, also does a strong take out business. Try the chalkboard pizzas!

We came on a Saturday night when the place was very crowded; they needed more staff. It took an extremely long time to have our drink served. When our tiny water glasses were long depleted, I forlornly tried to make my way through the crowded bar to get some more liquid, and ended up pleading with the maitress d’ instead — she did quickly bring us some waters, larger glasses this time. The place was too loud, but alas that seems to be the norm these days. Finally — the pizza! It was a very good thin crust pizza, not overloaded with toppings. The two of us devoured a large. We custom-chose our toppings from a very ample list. The beer list was also more than adequate. I’m sure the bumps in our road were merely due to our picking an unlucky, understaffed night.

Disappointing, I had reasonably good expectations for here because of some positive references. Unfortunately, The chicken on our pizza was very very old and funky tasting and should never have been served. Clearly, no one smelled or looked at that chicken before plopping it on our pizza. Ditto for the chicken on our salad. The margherita pizza was acceptable, but overpriced for the quality of the cheese, sauce, and crust(at least it did not contain spoiled ingredients like the chicken though). Thought this place might have good stone-oven pizza, I’ll have to keep looking. On a side note, I was surprised to find the pizza at the Matterhorn was better, which I never would’ve guessed by the looks of the two places.

High quality ingredients, funky pairings and all round good service make this place a great choice. Food is fast and portions are more than generous.

Awesome service, great beer list, amazing pizza… but no air conditioning on a very hot day! Still — highly recommend, would go back in cooler weather for sure!

I really like the pizza at The Blue Stone, a great representation of thin crust. Their cheese is tasty and so are the many combo or single topping options. What is a nice touch is their take-out counter in the back that has some slices ready to go. And their tap list is very good as well, with a lot of local options being poured. For some reason if nothing on draft strikes your fancy, you can order a Heady. This is one of the newer places on my list of great spots in Waterbury & I am happy to have them as an option when passing through this beautiful area of Vermont.

We stopped in here for lunch back at the end of March and we were happy the place lived up to the reviews. We had a good pizza(covered with lots of garlic!) and a small salad with a can of Heady Topper. The pizza was very good and was cooked well and the salad had good goat cheese on it. It was nice to find Heady Topper to try(though it’s vastly overrated) and the service was pretty good overall. If you’re in Waterbury and in the mood for some pizza, I would suggest stopping here!

Went here Saturday night and had a great time. The atmosphere was awesome. We had to be seated on a corner since it was pretty packed but we didn’t mind it. The waitress was really nice and our order was on point! Great selection of beer and cocktail!!! We had their pizza and was sooooo good! Highly recommend this place! Def coming back!

I’m sad to say on our most recent visit we were disappointed. We ordered one of the special pizzas, it took awhile to come out and when it did, it wasn’t that great. It was cooked well done(not by request) and lacking in flavor and appeared to be missing at least one of the ingredients in the description. We each had a slice then packed up the rest. I was even more bummed by our pizza when I got the bill and saw that it set us back nearly $ 30. We polished off the remainder at home the next day(with that price tag and because we don’t waste food, we felt it necessary) but I doctored mine up with some seasonings to make it more palatable. I hope it was just a fluke because I really enjoyed this place on our past visit.

This is a really nice pizza place. Upscale and fun vibes all around! Garlic knots rocking my world like oh-my-god. I couldn’t stop eating them, so amazingly good. We got the three little pigs pizza. I was surprised my picky boyfriend was willing to try out something new, I told him he might not like it. Guess what? He ate it, but a surprisingly small amount! I totally called it. I really liked the pizza it was interesting and tasty. I wasn’t a fan of the braised pork though. Where we were seated was awesome, we had a wall with words on it to put together and make sentences, we came here as our 4 year anniversary, it was romantic and fun. It was a really good night!

I went here on a recent trip to the Stowe /Waterbury area and ordered the Woodchuck pizza to-go. So while I’m strictly basing my review on the quality of the food, the restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere as far as I could tell. I found the place after learning with great disappointment of the closure of Pie in the Sky, a local favorite and staple of the area for many years. My all time favorite pie was the Blonde Vermonter and it seemed the Blue Stone had something similar named the Woodchuck(Tomato sauce /ham /chicken apple sausage /white cheddar /green apples /thyme). I ordered with tempered expectations, but can honestly say that the Blue Stone’s version was as good, if not better than Pie in the Sky’s. Every ingredient tasted fresh and was used in the right proportion and the chicken apple sausage was a nice added touch. It was so good that my girlfriend and I finished the entire thing in under 10 minutes! Sure the pie could have been a bit larger, sure it could have been a bit less expensive(I think it was around $ 18), but sometimes you really do get what you pay for. Given the regional nature of the pie, as well as the quality of the ingredients, I didn’t think this was a significant enough negative to warrant less than a 5-star rating. Would happily return any time I found myself in the area! I’d probably just order the Woodchuck again, but many of the other dishes on the menu sounded quite appetizing as well.
