If you want to get a feel for Mormon (LDS) historical geography you need to check out Peter Whitmer Log Home. Peter Whitmer was one of the 8 witlessness to John Smith’s finding of the Mormon Plates.
A bit off the beaten path, their is a modern reconstruction of Peter Whitmer’s cabin with a visitor center next to the cabin that is a great contrast to the log cabin.
If can see and walk around the cabin by yourself, but if you want to see the insides, you need to check in to the visitor center and get a docent to give you a tour…
