A pretty low-end Greek option, which has a certain local following, I guess owing to its longevity. All the servings are generous; the problem is that nothing is very good. Dry lamb kabobs, meh rice, pale salad, oily veggies, lumpy hummus, and flat, cold pita(called«Syrian bread,» a phrase I last heard in the ‘70s). The guys who work here seem very friendly but also kind of baffled about why a group of sober adults has entered their nearly empty restaurant. Believe me, this is not a good sign.

This place was just meh. That’s the best way to explain it. The interior looks fairly sad and run down. Doesn’t look like it’s been retouched in years. Menu options were fairly limited, and week. Ordered the lamb kebab; which came with rice and«Greek salad». The Greek salad was a plate of chopped lettuce, two wedges of tomatoe, and a single olive, drizzled with olive oil and goat cheese crumbles. Hardly what I call a Greek salad. No cucumber. Onions. Peppers. Tsaziki. Fairly disappointing. The meet was good. Juicy, well prepared. Not a lot of seasoning though. The rice was just as sad as the salad; overcooked, mushy, and topped with a tasteless tomato sauce. We ordered a side of tsaziki, and the guy came with a small saucer and waited until we paid the obligatory 1.50. The tsaziki was like a watery, almost milky consistency with grated cucumber. I’ve had much much better. It’s alright as an absolute last resort kinda place. The only thing going for it is the meat, kinda. Otherwise, just like the décor, salad, and rice… This place is kinda sad.

Ordered food to be picked up, but ran into a snag and was super late. They were remaking my order when I came to pick it up. Very thoughtful, so accommodating. Place has been around forever, and we love it:)

Came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. I ordered the two skewers lamb kebab with rice and salad. My wife ordered the one skewer chicken kebab with salad. In terms of quantity, I was pretty full from the meal. I think one skewer would have been enough but I was really hungry at the time so I ordered two instead. The food was good but it wasn’t anything super exceptional. It tasted just okay in my opinion. I do want to go back and try their gyro though because after looking at some pictures here, they do look very delicious. Takeaways: 1. One skewer option should be enough to get you full. 2. Ask for rice and salad along with your kebab. 3. Try their gyro in stead of the skewer option if you want to eat something simple and clean.

Fast, delicious, and fresh. I love Greek food, so I was thrilled to try Demos and found their souvlaki to be delicious. I give the restaurant four stars because of a less-than-ideal atmosphere. It’s more of a bistro, where you pay at a counter and seat yourself to wait for your food. Although this is ideal for a takeout/weekday lunch situation, I didn’t enjoy it in the context of visiting for dinner.

This is a really good hole in the wall place. If you’re interested in good, reasonably priced Greek and Middle Eastern food, I’d recommend it. I really like the chicken kabob dinner– comes with Greek salad and rice or French fries. If you get it with rice, it’s a very healthy, light meal. I’ve also had their chicken rice soup. It had a hint of lemon– very good. I’ve also had the moussaka. It was a little greasy, but very good! Overall, great value for good food!

What a disappointment. Fordees was closed so we tried this place down in the square and it was truly bad. I ordered a Gyro sandwhich and fries which is a staple in this Greek and Arminian town. The gyro meat was frozen and grilled with lots of oil on the flat top. One of the worst Gyros I’ve had. The fries are served with no salt or seasoning of any kind. They did NOT provide salt pepper ketchup or napkins in the bag to go… I guess saving the few cents is more important than having a return customer.

I get kebab take out all the time there. It’s very yummy. However they really need to update their seating and dinning area. It’s very dingy and not appetizing. I would totally dine in if they renovated the front.

Demos is my go to for turkey kabobs and Greek salads in Watertown or Waltham. I used to eat at the Waltham location religiously(I don’t cook much) but the Watertown location is closer now. They do basic Greek fare and they do it well. The kabobs and salads are the best around in my opinion. As far as service goes I always takeout but the guys at the front desk have never been rude or rushed me. If you want a good quality salad with chicken or turkey which I recommend try this place you won’t regret it.

I’ve lived near Demos for almost 3 years and just finally visited. Should have gone way sooner. It’s delicious. It’s affordable. Side of some quality spinach pie for $ 3.50? Yes please.

Atmosphere is ok, not great but not bad. Crew are nice people. Food is coming fast and seems healthy but not very tasty.

This place is just my kinda place. It’s definitely unique and the food is great. As a heads up, there is no table service — you order at the counter and they bring things out to you. The menu is large but not extensive with some classic Mediterranean dishes — moussaka, gyros, hummus and pita, but you can also get a burger. They appear to have a full bar. The food was super cheap — I got a gyro, Greek salad, and soda for 9 $. The dining room is large and in some ways quite nice actually. The restaurant is a strange mix of high and low class — you order at counter but they have a full bar, there are nice paintings on wall, but a TV too. The food was good, though not fine dining — the salad was rather simple — oil, lettuce, tomato, feta — but memorable. The gyro was overflowing with lamb. This is not the place to go for a special occasion, but is definitely the kind of place one could become a regular at.

The kabobs and gyros here are excellent. I also really enjoy the rice with the tomato based sauce! I’ve gone here a few times and food is always great. My aunt ordered take out one night and brought it to my house and it was just as good as having it there and it was still warm, and we live an hour away! Now I really want a gyro.

Rounded up to four stars, cause the food is really good, Kabobs like everyone has mentioned, as well as gyros and the Tzatziki sauce are all really great. Just a weird place, décor is really drab but the weirdest part is the guys behind the counter, I really get a soup nazi feel(Seinfeld reference) from them especially from the shorter gentleman. Not that there rude but more of it’s like I’m bothering him and order and sit and leave me alone now vibe… Anyway, the food is really good.

The food at Demos is amazing! If you want great customer service. you will not find it here! They are super rude and want you in and out as quickly as possible. Definitely call ahead if you are taking it to go! I suggest ordering to go.(messy and noisy inside)…but they will hook you up with everything you need for take out. The chicken kabob dinner is my favorite and you cannot beat the price! Great spot… just wish they were a little nicer:-)

Ordered the open faced kabob sandwich and it was excellent. The food was out quick. The french fries looked excellent but lacked flavor. That’s probably the only thing holding it back from four starts. Pita bread was so fresh. Made the meal. Staff is friendly and service was good.

In two words… chicken kabob. This place has great ones. It’s a Greek style place with great options. The place looks like an old school diner, and feels darker than it should. It could benefit from more Windows and natural light. I suggest the kabob, but I’m told the Gyro is good as well. Everything is made to order, and tastes fresh. The salad is pretty much lettuce with feta and olive oil. I once saw a tomato slice, I think. Stick with the kabobs and you’ll be happy. The inside could use a few updates, as it doesn’t feel modern at all. It’s big enough inside to get a seat, and the food doesn’t take too long. The staff is nice. I think it’s always the same guy, but he’s cool.

The shish kabob dishes are pretty good and I’ve been going to this place for 25 years but a few years ago the ownership changed and the food hasn’t been quite as good. The chicken kabob in particular doesn’t have as much flavor as it did in the old days.
