As soon as we entered. We were immediately greeted by a hostess. Inform to select a table of our choice. We choose this restaurant because of the good reviews on Unilocal… We were not disappointed. Started with Utica Greens. Very tasty. N Calarmari. Perfect. Main course. My husband had ChickenRiggies. And they make them mild to hot. Your preference. I had Shrimp Scampi over Liguine. Excellent. House wine good. Met the owner. All was great. Too full for dessert. Service very good. Water glass always kept full.

My family stopped on our way to Canada. We found the reviews on Unilocal so helpful. The food was very good. The portions were perfect. We had the house bolognaise sauce, chicken piedmontese, and shrimp scampi. All of our food was really good and the complimentary bread was warm and fresh. The house Merlot was decent. The waitress was very nice and attentive. We were not at all dressed up and felt fine. We would definitely stop in again if we were in the area.

I can’t comment on the food. We didn’t make it that far. The restaurant was half full, but we still had to wait for about 10 minutes for a table for two. The older gentleman acting as host was slow and bussing tables. He was friendly and sat us down to a table that had not been cleaned. I didn’t really think anything of it until he didn’t wipe the table and began to only replace the silverware that had been used. So, the place settings and table clothe still had the previous couple’s unused dessert spoon and butter knives. He did replace the entrée and salad forks, but that was enough for me and separate small group watching it unfold to find a different restaurant.

First off, be advised that their online web information may be incorrect or out of date. We visited restaurant for the first time after reading reviews and looking at web menu and posted specials. That menu is no longer valid and there are currently no specials. Waitress said web is maintained by a third party and is difficult to have changes made. Sadly, two of the dishes we were looking forward to based on prior reviews were no longer available. So, we decided on an antipasto to start, followed by «chicken riggies» — a chicken rigatoni dish with mushrooms, peppers and onions — and a pork chop with onions and peppers, accompanied by oven roasted red potato. While waiting for food, we noted the ambiance was… dated. Obviously a hotel lounge at one point, the setting was more Americana than Italian and looked tired and worn. Peeling wallpaper, stained drop-ceiling tiles and older worn carpet. Main course arrived(no salad) and appearance was also a little old, like a dish from 20 years ago, with parsley dust sprinkled on everything. The rigatoni dish was good, if not overly inventive. A basic dish that could easily be made at home. The pork chop was dry, tough and overdone. My guess was it was partly cooked in advance and«finished» for serving. Double cooking not done right. The potatoes were the best part of that dish; at least they were warm and seasoned. Waitress was pleasant(2 for restaurant on a Saturday night, and able to keep up with the mostly elderly diners) and when she realized she forgot our salad offered to comp it, which we declined. They did apologize for the chop and comped that. Given the area, our expectations were not too high, but I do feel that this place could use an update before returning.

Amazing little restaurant which does not look like much from the outside. Ossobuco was amazing. My daughter had gnocchi with meatballs and an amazing marinara sauce. I had pork tenderloin. This place is well worth it.

Food was ok. service was marginal — how can 2 people handle the dining room, bar and kitchen? Very hurried and brief, spreading themselves way to thin. The nicest thing was the fabric on the booth backs. Hats off to them for effort, but not the Italiano way of a life to be enjoyed.

We both had the manicotti special(I with sausage, Carol with sausage and meatball) and it was great. As Italian as we’ve had anywhere. Lemon cream cake for desert. Mmmmmm. And at a good price.

The good: We ordered the meat and cheese appetizer, which was very delicious and accompanied with some wine. Then we ordered their manicotti special. It was very good as their house red sauce was just right and the filling was excellent. Also the bread they gave us complimented the meal very nicely and came with an herb butter to put on it. The Con’s: The only thing we did not like was the chairs did not have a cushion so it got a little uncomfortable over time. they do have booth seating however with cushioned seats. This small Italian restaurant surprised my friend and I and it was a good experience overall. The owner even approached us to check on the table and make sure we were taken care of.

My husband and I ate here last night, and I was so glad that we finally tried it! A great Italian Restaurant, and very reasonably priced! I always love a non-chain restaurant that is serving amazing food. We had been told by an old neighbor that this was their go-to Italian restaurant, and restaurant in general in Watertown in October, and we finally got around to trying it. I was sad we had waited so long to give it a shot, but we will be back. The service was fantastic, and the waitress was very nice and attentive. Good service is always a plus! My husband and I started off the meal sharing a ceasar salad, which was nicely dressed and had homemade croutons. Fresh homemade bread with a chive butter was served as well before our meal and was very yummy. I had one of their chicken dishes(can’t recall the name, but it was amazing) which came with a side of pasta. I tried the homemade meat sauce with my pasta and it was so good. My husband had the Chicken Riggies, and he thought it was some of the best he has had. Just enough heat, and good flavor. We didn’t save room for dessert, but we will be back!

Good but most certainly not great. House sauce was excellent but that’s about it. Pork tenderloin was overdone, yet still came out cold. The red wine reduction was overly sweet and did not complement the meat in any way. Service was great.

We never would have noticed this restaurant due to the location away from restaurants, if it weren’t for the Unilocal reviews, but I am truly glad we did. This is now our favorite local restaurant in the area. Authentic, affordable Italian food that rivals the expensive competition in Watertown. After meeting the owner, and learning that his recipes come from his long family history in northern Italy, it is no wonder the food is so good. I got the spaghetti with meatballs – the best way to judge an Italian restaurant is by this meal choice. Amazing. My wife loved the salad, homemade balsamic was sweet and amazing as well. Lastly, you can’t beat the affordable prices for this kind of food. What the facility lacks in flare and fine dining expenses, it makes up for in food quality and taste.

My husband and I frequently head to Watertown for dinner out and pass by Ricardo’s. I always suggest too late that we could pull in and eat there, but tonight I remembered. Boy, am I glad we did! They were just opening for dinner and we had our pick of seats, and I can say that there are no bad places to sit. The service was friendly and attentive, the wine selections were very good and the specials were interesting. We ordered two appetizers(Gorgonzola Flat Bread and Utica Greens). They were delicious and we devoured them alongside the warm bread and herb butter. For our entrees we chose Linguini with House Special Sauce and Rigatoni with House Bolognese. We sampled from each other’s plates and loved everything. We would have loved to try a Homemade dessert or two, but we couldn’t possibly! Before we left I already vowed to come back and I can’t wait to try more of the menu!

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food at Ricardo’s. The bread was excellent; nice and hot with a great herbed butter. The Chicken Piedmontese was superb and the bolognese sauce was excellent. My wife said the Caesar salad with homemade croutons was one of the best she’d ever had. It was great to find a restaurant with real homemade food on this side of town.

My brother and I go to Canada fishing every year last year we spent the night in Watertown and found Ricardo’s.OMG the service was top notch and the food was everything I expect to find in a first class restaurant here at home in Philadelphia. This year we purposely spent the night in Watertown going to Canada and coming back home just to eat at Ricardo’s. Everything from the app salami and sharp provolone platter to the Italian Lemmon cake was awesome. All of the food is handmade and delicious I highly recommend Ricardo’s to anyone in the Watertown area. I’m actually thinking about making a trip 7 hours north to fish a little and eat at Ricardo’s!
