It’s the most beautiful restaurant inside! The food is very good… but only if you come at the right time of the day like the busiest times so that the food is fresh and there’s actually food out there on the buffet. If they’re slow don’t bother.

I agree with it being a mixed bag. The sushi was a nice touch for a Chinese Buffet and do have a nice spread of options. Problem is some are good, some are terrible. After eating there once I will go back, but I know what to avoid!

The food was a mixed bag: some delicious, some(dumplings, soup) not. There was plenty of variety, but the food needs to be kept hotter; many of the hot dishes were cold. Also, please turn off those damn boob tubes — why do so many restaurants now blare idiot boxes at customers even when no one is watching? I was seated in an alcove with no one else around, and a tv was roaring with some stupid kiddy show. No one was watching it. Other boob tubes were blasting competing shows. Can we not have a quiet meal anymore? I asked the waitress to please turn off the tv, but she either didn’t understand or didn’t feel like it.

How much do Appalachian Trail thru-hikers like this buffet? So much that I heard people still discussing it with reverence in New Hampshire, still marveling at the sushi and fast wifi. This place is well-known on the trail as one of the best Chinese places in any trail town, and with good reason. The buffet is routinely well-stocked with a larger variety of dishes than I have seen almost anywhere, there are sushi and the American offerings that seem to come with a lot of Chinese buffets as well, the place is large and seems cleaner than many Chinese buffets, there are power outlets for customer use, and the wifi was fast! Seriously, what’s not to love? Rarely do I feel very impressed by Chinese buffets but I liked this place so much I visited it two days in a row. Nothing better to beat your hiker hunger than Ming Garden!

I don’t have words to describe my disappointment. The food trays were neglected, some empty and some with barely edibles-ready for the trash. I’m gluten free and relied on the sushi section. Most of the sushi bar/section was faux sushi. I was lucky? enough to get the last measly piece of tuna(poorly cut), one wavering piece of snapper(inedible) and a couple pieces of un-sushi rolls. I asked the chef if there was more sushi coming out. He hunched his shoulders, pointed at his watch, shaking his head«no». «We close at 9, was his reply. I asked politely perhaps if I could have a couple pieces of tuna or salmon. He pointed to one plate on the sushi bar that contained what was left of the sushi for the night– fat, rice rolls The hot&sour soup was tepid, a hint of sour but slightly sweet?.Did I get the wrong soup? Gluten free people should stay home. There was the usual thickly coated, deep-fried chicken and shrimp variations. The potato salad and Cole-slaw, store bought. Barely a small serving of white rice in the warmer, turned to rice crisps. Baked salmon was pale and flavorless. I tried a squeeze of lemon to revive it; no good! I gave up and ate lots of fresh cut tomatoes and a few pieces of carefully selected chicken and broccoli. This was not an enjoyable treat but a punishment for me since I did not listen to my inner voice telling me to go home and dine. It’s a shame for such a beautiful new place to slip so quickly into the bad habits of tired buffet doldrums. To add, I was seated at 8:00, the sign on the door and advertisement states 10:00 as the closing time.

Horrible horrible horrible. I ordered food from this place they didn’t even get my order right and then when I called them back they said that I confirmed the wrong order. Super rude never ordering again from here

The lunch buffet was horrific. My wife and I circled and circled looking for something that looked edible. Everything was cold, looked like it had been reheated several times or was swimming grease. The sushi was, without a doubt, the worst excuse for sushi I’ve ever seen. The price wasn’t bad at $ 7.15 per adult but it was the only thing that wasn’t absolutely horrible. We nibbled several items then decided to go home and make a sandwich. With tip, $ 18.00 down the drain. Will NEVER eat anything from here again. It is the kind of place that made my wife start looking up possible food inspection violations online as soon as we were in the car. She said she found a few.

My family has been coming here for years now, pretty much since this place opened. The last couple times we had all noticed that the food had changed, not sure what, just knew that it was«different» and not good. We stopped here for lunch buffet on Thursday and that will be our last time… sorry. The buffet is just not up to par. My daughter, her boyfriend and I each made the mistake of adding bacon bits to our salads. The bacon bits were rancid and made our salads inedible. I had some of the bourbon chicken which had a really good taste, but was full of gristle. My 4 year old daughter had a slice of pizza. She wouldn’t eat it; she said it was bad.(My 4 year old never turns down pizza). Don’t know what has happened, but we won’t be back.

What disappointment! The food was simply inedible. I have low expectations of buffets in general but this place given a good review by someone who had steered us right on some other things. ALL of the seafood dishes were cold. all of them! forget that it was all frozen. one might expect that. The other food was similarly lukewarm and tasteless. While the décor was very nice, there was no instruction about where to go next whether we wanted the buffet or menu or how much it even cost! The server while very pleasant did not speak english. The potential is great… the execution needs a lot of help. Get a consultant!

I think this is a wonderful restaurant, and the décor is very relaxing and beautiful with the large aquariums and koi ponds. The food is exceptional and fresh, and it isn’t expensive considering the kinds of foods they serve. The sushi and all seafood I tried was wonderful. The only problem we had was our server was not as attentive as he should have been. They should be more diligent with refilling drinks, etc. We waited and waited for our ticket while he stood around talking. Servers need improvement.

I have been to many of the local buffets in the valley and this is by far the best I have EVER been in. This includes Chinese restaurants in Chinatown in Washington, D.C. The price is awesome, the selection is wide and everything is fresh and very clean. I ordered from the Tampanyaki bar, and it was also very awesome. How can you say anything bad about fresh food grilled perfectly? One more thing. The restroom was clean!

Really liked the atmosphere and cleanliness of the place. Food itself was very average/mediocre — most of it was too sweet for my tastes. The sushi selection had a lot to be desired. The hibachi grill was the best part of the place — cooked up hot and fresh and for that I give it 3 stars.

Ming is not a bad place to eat. Descent buffet for a descent price. They have a pretty nice selection of foods. From sushi all the way down to pizza. But, I have to say the place is nicely decorated! Nice service, average food, clean bathrooms. Have to give it a 3 because I compare to other buffets I been through world wide.

Ming Garden is legendary among hikers on the Appalachian Trail. When I shuttle them into town, it’s often where they want to go first. Good selection of food on the buffet, and all you can eat. A sign on the door during peak hiking season reminds hikers that they can get a free shower at the YMCA just down the street. :-) For those of us who live here, it’s reliable Chinese-American food. You can buy take-out by the pound from the buffet. Or, order standard lunch and dinner dishes from the menu to eat in or take out. Overall, good value for the price. I agree with the reviewer who suggested going during peak meal hours. The buffet food is more likely to be freshly cooked then. If you’re ordering from the menu, though, it isn’t important, since that food is cooked to order.

I hate to say it but this was by far the worst Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to – and I’ve been to plenty. My wife and I sampled a variety of items from their buffet and none of them tasted good. Not one. In fact, most of them had a funny taste, and not in a way that sent us away laughing. The shrimp didn’t taste like shrimp. The crab didn’t taste like crab. Even the mushrooms tasted like a petroleum product. The General Tso’s Chicken had a medicinal flavor. The desserts were inedible. I’ve had better prison food. I was stunned to see the place so full, and wondered how that many people could enjoy such bad food. We sure won’t ever return. My only thought on the way home was, «I sure hope I don’t get sick.» Time will tell.

I gave them two stars because they have a great sushi and hibachi grill. I have been there several times and nothing has changed. The bathrooms are disgusting, I have seen better in a port a john. The food, is eh. Just disappointed.

Your typical Chinese Buffet. I have visited this establishment on about 5 occasions… usually in the mid-afternoon. The food is okay… but it often looks like it has been sitting out for a while. This might simply be the result of my visits at 3pm, perhaps when they are busy this is not too much of an issue. Pretty good assortment of food in terms of variety. Please be aware that some of the waitresses speak virtually no english. They understand«Pepsi» and«Tea»…but that is about it. If you ask them to split the check, it is obvious they have no idea what you are talking about. They have a decent sushi selection and hibachi grill… and the interior is pretty nice complete with huge fish tanks, fish ponds, and nice lighting. If I could make two recommendations: Visit during the peak dining hours when you are more likely to get fresh food(instead of sitting under heat lamps forever). Second, they need to hire waitresses with more english-language skills.

I’ve only had food from the buffet and even the sushi has been good(surprisingly for a Chinese restaurant). Their ginger tastes fresh and you can pick your foods and have them cook it for you with your choice of sauce. Or you can pick from their variety of other buffet foods. Great for a casual meal with friends… A little something for everyone.
