When you drive into downtown Weatherford, there is a magnificent old courthouse towering over the town square. This isn’t it. The new courts building isn’t terrible or run down, but it certainly doesn’t emit the same air of historical significance that the old courthouse does.
I don’t often have court in Parker County, for which I’m rather grateful. Today there was no one manning the solo metal detector, so I walked right on through carrying my briefcase. Of course I set it off. The sheriff, who was on the phone at the time, just waved me off. Apparently all it takes is a suit and a briefcase to confirm your security clearance.
