We were very disappointed in this place. We ordered the steamed mussels as an appetizer and they were just ok. They didn’t have very much flavor and there was no bread to go with it. My husband ordered a strip steak medium rare. The steak was poorly seasoned, was cooked medium well and looked more like a rib eye based on the large strip of fat he cut off of it. I ordered the prawns and they arrived cold. There was a pot of cocktail sauce on the plate and a pile of rice pilaf. The prawns were poorly seasoned and slightly overcooked. Service was just ok. We were finished with our meal before the waitress checked on us and refilled our drinks. We were the only table that didn’t get bread and butter. Had our meals been less expensive, I might have given them 3 stars, but each of our entrees were $ 23. The quality of the food did not warrant the price. Good: ambience, selection Bad: overpriced for food quality, poor service, not very good food

It is so cool to find a true gem in out of the way places. Amazing food. My pot roast had layers of flavors with a very generous portion of tender beef. This was also my comfort food after 4 nights backpacking in the Trinity Alps. My wife had clams and grilled asparagus and raved about them. Great service and good value with great food. Thanks Unilocal reviewers for leading us here!

Sweet potato fries with peanut sauce. Delicious. The sauce is delicious but to thin to «stick» to the fries so its messy. Would be even better if it had some viscosity to it. We kept it simple with gourmet burgers and had a great meal in a beautiful historic setting right on Main St.

This is an outstanding mountain café. Food is excellent, service is friendly, happy hour is terrific. Reservations useful for large parties or weekends. The owners Duane and Sharron are usually there, visiting tables, making sure all is good. Definitely a place to go in the Weaverville area.

Living and working across the street from LaGrange, my husband and I have eaten there many times and have, additionally, referred many of our hotel guests to LaGrange. I remember only one complaint!(Everybody is entitled to one bad day.) Great wine list(some of our local wines are nothing short of amazing!) Great food! Great service! Ambiance, yes! Old, old building with brick walls, arched doorway, 1930’s bar, yeah, my idea of food paradise. Casual is the word, jeans, fishermen talking over the day’s adventure, and if you don’t know anyone when you arrive, chances are very good…
