I haven’t been to Flaherty’s in a very long time, and I was pleased with my lunch here. I arrived around 12:30pm on a Friday to meet my dad, and it was quite busy. I arrived first and was offered the option to sit in the bar, the dining room or on their patio. I wasn’t sure what my dad preferred, so we sat at a booth inside the dining room. They were tending to two different larger groups, one looked to be a party of some sort(maybe a retirement lunch?) with about a dozen people, and another lunch group of about 8. Despite this, our server was very pleasant, friendly and efficient, coming right over after I was seated to take my drink order. Their menu is expansive, but leans heavily to bar/pub type food. I was going to be all sorts of healthy and get their blackened chicken salad but haha, it’s Friday, so I went with my number one sandwich love, the French Dip, sans the swiss cheese(I know, I know). It was delicious; lightly toasted hoagie roll with a good amount of very thinly sliced roast beef, and a delightfully salty au jus to dunk it in. You have options for sides, but I kept it classic with their french fries. Their fries are GOOD. Crispy yet with fluffy insides, nicely salted, and cooked well; my dad and I polished our respective portions(or I did with his help!), with no problem, and each took half of our sandwiches home. The only thing that I would add to the French Dip would be some caramelized onions; mm! Also? The sandwich was freaking huge; so yay for leftovers! The server apologized for the wait for our food(it was really only 15ish minutes), and the owner or manager popped over at the end of our meal thanking us for our patience while they dealt with their larger groups(also we noticed no issue, I assume the kitchen was backed up/overwhelmed). I really enjoyed my experience here; a great spot for a casual meal and the bar looked inviting as well. I’d definitely return!

We got here about 3pm. We asked to be seated in the dining room as we had our 6 yr old daughter and did not want to be seated in the bar. We were the only ones in this area at first but were joined by another table pretty soon after. The Server came over promptly, and was quick to deliver our waters. After that everything went down hill. I am not sure where our waitress kept disappearing to, but she was not out with her two tables. Took a while for her to take our order, I got the Buffalo dumplings as an app, Cajun chicken wings(xtra seasoning). My wife ordered the Buffalo wrap with mayo(we asked for a couple large sides of mayo). My dumplings came out and were really good, I recommend them. The rest of our food took what felt like forever. When they came out, the waitress had forgot the mayo, and had to go get it. I tried my wings and all I could taste was grease. No seasoning. I could not eat them as they were. My wife finished her wrap and most of her fries prior to the waitress showing back up. I asked for some bbq sauce to be able to eat the wings. Again she dissappeared. Not very happy. Will not be back to this location for dine in. We do like the one in honeoye falls location though.

Went here regularly for years until they stopped making their steak sandwich. That was the start of a serious decline. About 6 months later On a cold winter night we decided to give them another shot and ordered the lobster bisque and 2 Irish stews. I called the order in I was told 20 to 25 minutes for soup that was already made but OK I figured they were busy so I got there exactly 15 minutes later. The place was completely dead except a few regulars at the bar. Imagine my surprise when The bartender told me the bill was over $ 32 for three bowls of soup! The Irish stew used to be served in a bread bowl and you got a lot of it well whoever made this to go decided a bowl was literally one cup of stew. When I realize this I called them and said I think there was a mistake. The two pieces of bread we got were dry crusty ends and there was barely a cup of stew in each of the to go containers. They said that is their standard to go order for the bowl of Irish stew they would not give us more unless we wanted to pay for it so I drove right back and demanded a refund for that food. While they did credit me the full amount it is mind blowing that they charge so much for just a little portion of mediocre food, they gave me an over exaggerated waiting time and they would not offer to make the customer happy by providing the amount of food that would be expected if we were sit down customers. Fast forward three years we decided to give it a another try and again everything was a complete epic failure. This place is at best a bar for socializing with free popcorn do yourself a favor and skip the meal here altogether.

Ok, if there was a way to keep the bartender off Facebook in her cell phone and actually serve the patrons the business would probably be more profitable.

Slow slow service in the dining room. Used to love the food but now seems less homemade and too retail/food chain style. Ordered an old favorite-nachos with chili. Chips are plain out of the bag. Chili was not hot, looked old, tasted blah and there was about two tablespoons full on the entire plate. No longer baked, just some microwave action. No lettuce, little bit of tasteless cheese, jar salsa. Husband had philly steak. Size was good but quality was freshly frozen from Swanson lol. Fries are cheap skinny plain guys. Friend had pork chops. Literally two plain boneless chops on a white plate with a tiny dish of applesauce. That’s it. Not even a garnish. All food was mediocre warm. Plates cold. Take the old family pride out of the business and this is what you get. Save your money here and get the free popcorn and a drink and be on your way for a better meal.

If you like frozen food that is pre breaded and premade then this is the place for you. The fish fry was horrible and cold. We have gone here multiple times and the food is the same! Bad. Beer selection is good and soup is good. It would be a great place if they just made cooked fresh food that wasn’t frozen.

It is sad… I have gone to this bar for over 30 years and it seems that with each passing year the service gets worse. My wife and I went to Flags tonight and sat in a booth for 20 minutes before any staff acknowledge us. I am sad to say that is time to cross this bar off the list

Have been here for dinner 3 times in last few months… each time I leave disappointed and ask myself how do they stay in business with the crappy food they serve?

One of the best places to go in Webster. The free popcorn is of course a huge plus but the atmosphere is great! One side is a nice calm environment and the other side is a super fun bar. Not sure what type of night you’re looking for? Stop here and have a bit of everything! And the food is top notch. Highly recommend.

Great location and free popcorn :) Food menu is good, Clams Casino were really good with a nice combo of roasted red peppers and bacon stuffing. Beef Irish stew was decent, just not great. Drinks are the normal bar type. Bartenders are friendly. They also have a wide selection of food items on their catering Menu.

Nice bar. Solid bar menu. Better than average wings. Way better than any national chain!

Only 4 stars since I only came in for lunch. Will definitely come back for dinner and review again. Burger was delish. Tasty. Friend he’d Cajun chicken sandwich and it was fantastic. Homemade mac salad could have used more eggs to make it creamier but… I ate it all so it wasn’t bad! I’d give that a 4 stars. But the sandwiches are def 5 stars!!! We’ll be back!

While this wouldn’t be on my normal rotation, it is perfectly adequate. Nothing was bad by any means. The open faced Reuben was tasty but nothing stood out… bread, salty meat, cheese… the end. The fries were fries. But the service was excellent and they seemed accommodating of all ages and group sizes. It was a little disheartening that an Irish restaurant didn’t have a special menu for St Patrick’s Day(so I couldn’t get the fish fry as it is only available Fri/Sat). Plus, they were out of several beers. again, poor planning for the holiday’s rush.

Extremely slow service with a server who was only attending to 1 or 2 other tables in a generally dead restaurant? Check. Blandest garlic bread I have had in a while? Check. Raw chicken breast in a sandwich? Check. Server(despite being told before the orders were taken that we need separate checks) claiming she can do them at the end but has no idea who got what at the end and gets it wrong even after asking a million questions? Check. Ridiculous upcharge of $ 4 – 5 for getting the French Onion soup instead of Soup Du Jour(with nothing on the menu to indicate it)? Check. Lots of attitude from the server for asking about the upcharge? Check. The odds of me going back being zero? Check.

Making a bad name for wings in Rochester. On a family friend’s recommendation, we stopped by Flaherty’s for some good olé buffalo wings. Unfortunately, this family restaurant did not meet expectations. The 45 minute wait on a Friday was to be expected, but the meal that followed was more than subpar. I think the holidays were a little overwhelming for the staff as our server had quite the impatient attitude throughout our meal, acting annoyed when we asked for more time to look over the menu. We put in an early order of garlic Parmesan and Guinness BBQ wings, extra crispy, and settled on other items later, including the club sandwich and beef stew bread bowl. The wings came out hot, but there was almost no meat on them. The garlic Parmesan had almost no flavor except«oily.» Unfortunately I actually preferred those to the other wings, as the BBQ wings were so boring, no different than if I were to just smother my own home-cooked wings with Hunts. The rest of our meal wasn’t awful, just very plain. Maybe all family restaurants are like this, but our family friend had given great recommendations in the past and we had much higher expectations. Until next time, Webster.

Nice place. Good food, decent portions. I’ve been here three or four times over the past few years when I’ve been in town to visit family. This past visit, on Halloween, I had the shepherd’s pie. It was very good, but perhaps had too much Worcestershire sauce on the meat portion. Still, I’d order it again. The hostess was welcoming and competent. The waitress was good. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The only service glitch was very minor; we asked for two more wine glasses; the waitress brought them and the bus boy tried to take them away within two minutes because they were sitting on the end of the table. We stopped him in his tracks. After dinner we stayed a couple of hours for their Friday karaōke. It was a good time.

This place disappointed yet again. Hopefully my few remaining friends who haven’t been here will read this and save me the misery of going back. Not only is the food forgettable(the«6» pizza fingers are actually 3 cut in half… Fun trick. Did I say fun? I meant cheap), but the staff is forgetful. Somehow the burger my friend ordered came out AFTER the rest of us finished our meals — literally. The waitress apologized after we said to keep the burger, and didn’t mention it again. Not the way to deal with a glaring mistake like that. It’s a wonder this place remains open.

Stopped by on a Friday night with my wife and two of her friends. Ordered a burger, which is usually a safe choice anywhere you end up. I ordered it medium rare. When I got the burger I was surprised at how small it was, and also the small serving of fries that came with it. Found the burger to be done well. I would have sent it back but service was so slow that everyone at the table was done by the time the waiter came back. Wont be going back, and I have no idea why the parking lot is full every weekend. Overcooking a burger is usually no big deal to me, It gets busy in a kitchen on a Friday and things fall between the cracks, but the bad service on top of that makes me think that they need to revamp, and maybe get some experienced kitchen management.

Flaherty’s sponsors my softball team so I frequent this place about once a week. I like the food and drinks. The service is usually fantastic. I do agree with another reviewer saying that the menu could use a change. I have come here so many times over the years that I am sorta-kinda getting tired of the food. There’s some days I’ll just grab a beer and call it a day because I don’t want to eat the same ol’ stuff. My usual«go to» is soup(French Onion) and a salad. I recently tried the chicken parm sandwich(minus the roll due to being Paleo/Primal). This thing was HUUUUGE. They should have Billy Fuccillo introduce this sandwich. I couldn’t even imagine it on a roll because it was big without all that bread. All in all, definitely a decent townie bar. You’ll usually see the same faces if you go often. There’s karaōke on Fridays. I like to go to watch the drunks try to sing. It’s entertaining… I admit I don’t have the balls to do it myself.

Unfortunately, Flaherty’s has become a victim of its own success. What do I mean? They have an extremely large following that visits very regularly. The parking lot is always full. There are drinkers that stay until closing every Friday and Saturday. Because of these factors Flaherty’s has been extremely slow to change — they obviously haven’t felt the need to. Their menu hasn’t been revamped in years and their quality is a result of overcrowding and a small kitchen. Service is slow; the hostesses are young and tend to be overwhelmed on the weekends. If you come for the dining, be prepared to wait. Come to think of it, if you come for the bar be prepared to wait for that, too. All of this is very disappointing because I used to love, absolutely love, Flaherty’s. It used to be my second home because it’s right around the corner. The layout is classic with dark woods and greens. I used to get my Irish up at the bar with a Jameson’s and ale chaser, but no longer. When they first put the bar in, all those years ago, it was a true Irish pub with a little Celtic tuneage now and again but no longer. Now it’s no different than any other neighborhood bottle-bar. Back in the day I could sit at the bar and converse with the tender for a spell while I sipped and relaxed. If you can get a drink from the tender there’s nowhere to sit. There’s no peace. There’s no justice anymore. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t begrudge Tim and Terry their success, I really don’t. I just want my old Flags back. Can’t we start over Tim and Terry? I want things the way they used to be. The bisque has become way too thick with too much cream. The fish fry is better at Wegman’s right next door. The pub fare is well. .. just pub fare. Wraps and sandwiches and blah, blah, blah. They used to have a wonderful Sunday brunch a long time ago and it was extremely good but now it’s gone. And where, for the love of all that is holy, is the bangers-and-mash? Where’s the soda bread? Where’s the shepherd’s pie, the corned beef, the leek or Irish potato soups? Corned beef and cabbage only on St. Patty’s? Please, oh please, put the Irish back up on the wall. HOWEVER, if all you’re looking for is an appetizer or maybe a chicken Caesar wrap with a domestic ale, then Flaherty’s is still your place. It’s location is excellent and the only place in the area where you can get it. The prices? Ouch, babe. And don’t even get me going on their diminished imported beer selection. I’m hurting myself saying this. I really am. Flaherty’s has been my one and only Irish pub but I just can’t take it anymore. Now with the senior living center across the street the clientele is not only shoulder-to-shoulder, but very. .. let’s just say they like to take their time. Oh well. To everything, turn, turn, turn. .. there is a season, turn, turn, turn. Flaherty’s. .. you and I had so many special, happy times together. That is all in the past now. I will always hold a special place in my heart for you, but I must move on. I will think of you as I cry in my drafted Irish ale, down the street at MacGregor’s.
