Garbanzo Grill

This place is the worst. They got my order wrong never called me to tell me they couldn’t substitute rice for fries. At the end didn’t get fries or rice called them they said they were too busy. My food was dry and cold. I am very disappointed I paid $ 15 for something didn’t even enjoy.

First time ordering from here tonight. Delivery was quick. I have been looking for a good Mediterranean food place for awhile around the Hoboken area. I ordered the gyro and chipotle hummus and both were delicious! I will definitely be ordering again soon.

The delivery and service is really pretty terrible therefore, at least that is consistent. Tried so many times to give this place a chance and always a disappointment. Afraid to say officially now, never again. If you want small portions, 2 hour delivery, and eh food. this is your spot. Sad to cross this one off the list but just not worth the aggravation and bad service with such a saturated market of different restaurants in the area.

Delivery review: We’ve ordered here a few times and the food is pretty good usually, even if the portions are very small. However, today will be the last time due to exceptionally rude service. Our dessert didn’t come with the original order, so I called and asked about it, the lady didn’t apologise, but said she would send the guy back. 2 hours later and the dessert still hadn’t shown up, so I called again. She again didn’t apologise and said she was going to ask about it. She then left me hanging on the phone for 5 mins while I heard her talking with colleagues and generally avoiding me. I hung up and called back immediately to get her attention, not surprisingly she answered straight away so she can’t have been that busy earlier. I asked not to be left hanging like that again and she hung up on me! She’s now not answering my calls! I’d avoid delivery from here and don’t go at all if you’re hungry as the portions are tiny.

The best middle eastern food in the area. Vegan friendly as hell. Fair prices and nice portions. If I could, I’d eat nothing but their grape leaves. Always and forever. Garbanzo Grill’s babaganoush is what dreams are made of, too. The falafel this restaurant makes isn’t the best I’ve had but it’s close enough. Actually, I suggest trying the falalfel burger instead. It’s a unique twist on the dish at hand and tastes better. I’m still searching for hummus in the area that tastes as delicious as the hummus I had at Sultan Gyro in Lyndhurst and much to my dismay, this place does not even come close. The baklava is alwaaaays fresh and tastes terrific so don’t pass on it! Oh, and don’t bother ordering the lentil soup. It’s… just. not… good.

Ehh. The service yet again

I placed an order for delivery from here for an early dinner one evening. We spilt the chipotle hummus and I had the Arizona rice bowl. I thought the bowl was delicious, but they did forget the sauce. It was a little small for the price, and there was a lot of rice compared to the other ingredients but it was very tasty and light. The hummus was great. I would definitely try this spot again.

I live 0.5 miles away from the restaurant and i ordered delivery. First of all it took one hour to get delivery to my house (even the distance is walking distance). Also, food came super cold. I ordered hamburgers and fries. I had the worst burgers of my life. Never ever going to order from this place again !!

I have been here a couple of times and will not be returning. There was no one in the restaurant and the service was still slow. I placed my order and the waitress did not send the complete order to the kitchen. The falafel is delicous but not worth the bad service.

I ordered the chicken kebab platter with hummus and tahini sauce and two falafels. If I could order just the rice, chicken, and hummus I would. I thought t was delicious. and I will be ordering here again. :)

Delicious! The falafel platter was amazing! The hummus was creamy and tasty as well. The restaurant was clean, had nice décor and was cool in this humidity we’ve been having. I also liked how they served sodas out of mason jars. The rice was also delicious. It was nice and plain; wasn’t loaded up with all the seasoning as you would find in a typical middle eastern restaurant. This place is very affordable and healthy also. Definitely will return!

Best Gyros in town! My husband and I have a Gyro at least once per week. Won’t go anywhere else. They busy because Service is great, so please be patient when ordering for pick-​up.
All other food is really good too. Definitely a 5 star all together.

This is such a chill place w great food and its BYOB! I had the Garbanzo Salad w was beyond delish!!!

One of my FAVORITE spots to go to for Mediterranean! I order a Falafel platter ($ 1 off during lunch time, along with a free drink) with my boyfriend and it fills us up! Sometimes if we are extra hungry we’ll order one of our own each. The owner is incredibly sweet! Healthy food for something around Union City (literally a block from one of the edges of UC.) Honestly, everything on the menu is WONDERFUL. and IT’S BYOB! Their Babaganoush (sp?) is to die for, along with their red wine vinegar!
I’ve also tried their chicken bowl, and a chicken mozzarella panini, I don’t think I will ever stop coming here! Thank you so much!

The Falafel and gyros are good, but I’ve had better.
The portions are pretty small and prices aren’t great considering the small portions.

I have orderd a delivery, and it was alright.
Tandori chicken was just a normal, but the shrimp was great! You should try one!

it was healthy
but the meat didn’t seem THAT fresh, also the portions were small. We had two plates and a container of hummus and it was around $ 35. That seems very pricey for an arabic place in Jersey… I was expecting to be impressed.

I began my dinner outside past the kitchen. Mind you, there is absolutely no way that you would even know that there is an outside. Coming in it looked empty (it was 7pm) and there is nobody in the front to greet you.
Ok, I walk past the kitchen to meet my friend and it is very lovely outside. 4 very personal tables with tents under what looks like last years Christmas lights but it’s ok. Now to the food, had mozzarella for an app. definitely do not recommend it for one bit. The cheese was dry and lacked texture. My entrée was the chicken tandoori, quiet possibly the most bland and driest chicken I have tried in a long time. The hummus was good but not great the salad was bland and the rice was ok. I won’t even mention the awfulness of the baklava.
It’s sad that a place with such a great ambiance and the greatness of BYOB has such mediocre food. Only reason I am giving the place a 3 and not a 2 is because the server was very nice, seemed completely oblivious to the menu, but very nice indeed. Unfortunately, I will not be going back.

Let me start off by saying I was a frequent Garbanzo Grill patron. I would eat Garbanzo Grill at least twice a week. The food is tasty. However, Garbanzo has consistently upped their prices by making the food more expensive and increasing their delivery minimum. Their most recent one this week went from $ 12 to $ 14 (15% increase). Subsequently they got my next order wrong.
It’s very unfair to charge more money for poorer service. It will be a while before I give Garbanzo Grill my business again. It certainly will not happen until that delivery minimum drops.

Garbanzo is perfect for great food and conversation with your significant other. The place has a warm and cozy atmosphere. Its BYOB which I love!
Items on the menu that I tried and were soooo gooood! The chicken kebob and chicken curry are served with hummus delicious pitas (you have options whole wheat or regular) which by the way come out nice and warm. The salad is fresh and grilled veggies are tasty.
