Tiffani left me hanging in the middle of a cut for 30 min to attend to another friend client, the next time I called asking when her first available was, just to see last min availability, they said 4 days later, so glad to never go back

I had heard this place does a $ 20 blowout so I came in for a try. When I showed up, my appointment ended up being with someone different than they mentioned on the phone. Her name was Ebony. She had a faulty hair dryer but once she switched it with someone else’s she did a great blowout. Better than the one I had been getting from my other salon. My only complaint is that she charged $ 5 extra to run a flat iron through it. My hair is thick so I understand but it kind of defeats the $ 20 blow out. More like the $ 30 blowout with tip. I have thick curly hair and she blew it out perfectly straight so I will give her that. I’m very particular and usually come home and restraighten. I did not have to do that this time!

My mom has been going to Mark’s salon(and to Mark himself) ever since I was in elementary school(I’m 24 now) if that says anything to you. Obviously she really likes the work he does, and I agree. Her hair always looks great after. I’ve seen Mark several times over the years myself, though not much since I moved to Chicago. He’s a little pricey, but worth it. He’s cut, colored, and styled my hair on numerous occasions, and he always makes me feel great. He did my hair for prom a few times back in high school, and his designs were always innovative. He’s great with color-knows exactly what he’s doing and what will or won’t look good on you. If you suggest something he thinks won’t(for instance, I am definitely NOT meant to be a blonde), he’ll let you know and come up with something even better than you wanted. He’s always pleasant to talk to as well. We’re on more of a personal basis since he’s known me since I was a little kid, but he’ll still have a full conversation with you. He’s also done my makeup several times and he always picks shades that work perfectly with my skin tone, something that seems to be hard for most people to do for me. If you’re looking for a great cut and color, Mark is definitely the one to see. I can’t really comment on any of the other stylists since I’ve never seen any of them, but my best friend saw Igor many years ago and got a fabulous cut. My best friend had her wedding hair/makeup done at D’Alleva’s last fall. Unfortunately due to scheduling complications, Mark was out of town at the time. I’m fairly certain Jennifer did her hair styling, and it looked great. Avita did her makeup and did a wonderful job. I feel bad that I can’t remember which girl did my hair, but we switched around and my hair was done by someone other than who I was scheduled with, but she did a fantastic job. I’ll update if the bride can remember her name for me. They served us bellinis and some breakfasty snacks, which was nice. I’d recommend Mark to anyone. I’d like to note however, that due to Mark’s popularity/being the salon owner, he’s very very busy and you’ll want to book at least a month in advance. It is possible they’ve had a cancellation and can see you on short notice, but it’s not very likely. Book it in advance, it’s worth it!
