On the way home from the hospital(where we had spent almost the entire day in the emergency room), I suggested to my wife that we order and pick up from La Marsa, which we generally prefer to Mezza. She agreed with me, and ordered online and picked up the food on the way home. It was a simple order — fattoush salad and Mujadrah. When we arrived home, we found that the fattoush had no dressing — our favorite part of the salad. But that’s excusable, though disappointing. However, when we served the Mujadrah, we found several small bugs crawling in it. Despite having not eaten in the hospital for almost 10 hours, my wife could not eat the food from la Marsa.

I started going here after the Palm Palace closed. Get the sampler for two. It is outstanding. You get a little of many items. Was disappointed this time as the bread they sent with the dinner was rock hard. Not the fresh soft flat bread I normally get

I’ve come here many times ever since first coming here with my friend, Megan T., and her husband in 2013. The food is always great– flavorful, fresh, at the proper temperature, and served in a timely manner, and the service is very good. And you haven’t lived until you’ve tried their garlic sauce! Plus, though I am not a vegan, I have noticed that there are many options for those who are vegan and/or just trying to eat healthier by cutting meat and dairy of their diets. Bottom line: La Marsa is marvelous!

The staff was really nice, but the food was just meh. I had a falafel wrap, and it was quite soggy. My husband had lamb with a side of grilled vegetables — the pieces were huge and difficult to cut, and had been cooked in a sour-tasting sauce. We could not eat them. Also, no alcohol here, despite the Unilocal profile saying there is alcohol. No surprise, but good to know.

La Marsa is awesome! We took the kids here and they loved it too. One of them is a picky eater so that is saying something. The portions are large, their garlic paste is fantastic, and so is their bread! I love the fatoosh salad with feta and chicken, the girls tried lamb and chicken. Everyone had something to take home and enjoy later. The service is very good, we drank a lot of water but they kept up with us, and our food didn’t take long either. the place itself is done very nicely.

Somehow this review got linked to a different La Marsa in Ohio?!? I’m talking about the REALOC La Marsa — in WB. Came here back in 2013, and this is the restaurant that made me get a Unilocal account. It’s that good. AMAZINGFOOD. Period. Good service(I’d rate the service a 4 of 5) but overall it is a great restaurant. The inside décor is beautiful and it is overall the BEST Middle Eastern restaurant in West Bloomfield(proper). The Food: We ordered a variety of food, all of which was excellent: Koshary, Meat Shawarma sandwich, Fried Kibbeh, Hommus and Garlic Dip & fresh juices(carrot-beet and apple juices). Everything was awesome. I ordered the Koshary which came with good soup(Lamb Chili). All was great. As someone who spent 10 weeks studying in Egypt, the Koshary here was better than any Koshary I’ve had in country. Delish. Everyone was VERY happy with their food. The Service: Service was good, but not great(I would give the service a 4 of 5). The server Bebo was great: personable, knowledgeable and excited to tell you about the menu. The only downfall is that they didn’t refill our waters often enough, so we were left thirsty. The food comes in a timely manner, but it will take you a full hour to consume juices, appetizers and an entrée. I would not recommend this place if you have a time constraint. Overall, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. This is my new favorite restaurant in West Bloomfield and we will definitely be back

Went today for the lunch buffet. Total is $ 9.53, not including the tip. They have chaffing dishes setup for self service. They only offer the buffet on Mondays. Selection was limited but the food was good. The 1st dish had toom and hummus. The 2nd had fatoush salad. The 3rd had rice with vermicelli noodles. The 4th had chicken schwarma meat, the last had falafel and sautéed vegetables. All it was missing was maybe some kefta, tabouli and a dessert. Bread was fresh and brought to the table. I think only this location and Troy have the buffet.

Awesome, awesome! Easily the best Mediterranean food in the area. I tried the Arabic coffee, cucumber salad, baba ghannoush and meat shawarma sandwich. The Arabic coffee is a revelation. Greek and Turkish coffee have nothing on this divine elixir made in the Moroccan style with cardamom. The shawarma sandwich is the best I’ve had anywhere. The herbs and spices used were unlike others I’ve tried and definitely stand out. A word about the service; I found the staff to be friendly and engaging. They were happy to join in a conversation about the food and tell us a little about it. If you love Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine, try this place. It is likely to become a favorite.

La marsa always serves high quality food at a reasonable price. Please do me a favor and order their spinach fattoush. Unfortunately they don’t have a liquor license, if we have family dinners we love getting their platters to go. Overall the food is delicious!

I can only speak to the lunch buffet and the service, but both were excellent! The lunch buffet had garlic sauce, hummus, rice, grilled veggies, chicken, falafel, and kibbeh. Very reasonable price and friendly staff. I will definitely return. :)

La Marsa is a good choice for Arabic and Middle Eastern food in West Bloomfield. The deboned chicken is my favorite entrée at this establishment. The chicken is seasoned right and cooked to perfection. The salad is very tasty and the hummous is as authentic as it gets. The rice and fries are good complements to any entrée and the service is very good. Highly recommended

Good food!!! Enjoyed the evening with our friends!!! We sat in a booth at first-but noticed how small it was constructed and not very comfortable ! It may have been OK for 2– but to small for 4 people! So-we moved to a table on the other side! Service was good & the food was fine! Asked for more bread/garlic – the waiter was very nice! I’m sure we’ll visit, again– some time in the future!

This is 3.5 stars. This is one of the larger chains of Middle Eastern food I have seen in Michigan, and it has become some ubiquitous for a reason. Although I am more partial to bread at Mezza, I think this place covers all the bases of a solid utility Middle Eastern restaurant. Good bread, garlic sauce, fatoosh salad, lentil soup, and grilled meats. Another awesome feature to this particular restaurant is they have a lunch buffet. The selection is limited, but was more than satisfying to me. They had fatoosh salad, falafel, stuff grape leaves, chicken kabobs, hummus, rice and grilled veggies. I also know that this place has take out down to a science. The one in Troy has a separate express section just for take out. In sum, I think there are better places, but as chains go, this is one that will consistently deliver solid product day in and day out.

La Marsa! Very similar to old school La Shish for those of you old enough to remember that franchise. This was my first time coming to this Orchard Lake location, it’s right in the mall. I came here with my good friend Connie G and our families. Since we were a pretty large party of 9 we got the Flaming Feast, or at least that’s what we thought we were getting… Unfortunately they ran out of the kebob skewers so it didn’t look anything like the picture, which was disappointing. The waitress also did not tell us this when we ordered. Anyways, the food was fantastic. The chicken and lamb were perfectly cooked and the rice & veggies were a great supplement. For the price though, I’m not sure if you get as much meat as you would have if everyone ordered an individual dinner. I’m also not a big fan of the Shish Kafta for appearance reasons… ha. Not sure I would do the group plates again, I would recommend everyone order individually. Other than that, great service and a fun time. The restaurant itself isn’t that big so if you’re a large party I would advise making a reservation(which is what we did). We were seated in a large booth which was perfect for 9. Looking forward to seeing Connie G’s version of this review. :)

The food here is very very good! We ordered shawarma, kafta, majidra, and of course hummus. The food exceeded my expectations, the service was slow but they were extremely nice. I think we came in on an off time, around 3:00 on a Saturday and there were 7 of us. I will definitely be back again, hopefully they can staff more servers.

Ordered carry out. Staff was pretty friendly and quick to greet. Received hot bread(nice quantity) with my lentil soup and sandwich. Always like the oven baked stuff. Food was hot and tasted good.
