I have been coming here since I was a little girl with my parents. Such great memories here when my father was still alive. We lived in West Bridgewater for years and we always, always got this place and loved it. I still come here a few times a month and I still love the food! Yes, it still looks like it did when I was a little girl, it needs many updates– but honestly? I rather love the fact that it still looks as it did when I was little, its nostalgic. I think it needs some money put into it, to make it what it was back in the day– when there were TONS of customers! Where you had to wait for a table on any night of the week. I believe it can get there again with some effort. The staff, I love. The food I still love too.

Got chicken fingers, boneless ribs, crab rangoons, and rice. Food was fresh and tasty. Their crab rangoons are a little«crabby» for me, but everything else was great.

Got chicken fingers, boneless ribs, crab rangoons, and rice. Most of the food was fresh and tasty. Their crab rangoons are the worst I ever ate, tastes like the sour cream is spoiled, but everything else was ok. I would only go here Friday and Saturday nights after 7pm because I have gone at other hours a few times and I definitely got leftovers from their lunch. This is a takeout review.

We have tried the buffet several times in the past year. We won’t be back. We had, not one, but multiple large black ants running around our table. I got lobster sauce that smelled very off, sour… and tasted just like it smelled. Some of the food was very dried out and hard(scallion pancake was hard to chew). The décor is not just outdated, it feels dirty. I’ve seen dust and dirt from my table and there just us no excuse for that. I see staff standing around with nothing to do… clean! I just did not feel comfortable sitting there eating their food. Either bring your restaurant up to code, or close your doors. You are not trying. We have tried enough times to feel confident that it’s not just a bad day. We want to like this restaurant, but we are done trying.

Stopped in for dinner and had a great meal with excellent service. I had the Marco Polo. The beef and shrimp was tender and tasty. They give you plenty of it so I will be having it for dinner tomorrow. I don’t understand why the bad reviews. It could use a little upgrading but I will definitely be going back.

Very rude customer service. Food doesn’t look presentable either. Idk what’s keeping this place open.

This place has been a landmark for decades! The food is always fantastic and quick to be served. The drinks are delicious and potent!!! I’d like to give 5 stars but it is in dire need of some maintenance… but still a great place to partake in a meal or drinks!

I’ll give 5 stars for the food and drinks! The rest of the establishment needs serious updating! Starting with the double front door where only one door is operable! Then there is an inoperative urinal in the men’s room, worn carpet, and barstools that have been repaired with duct tape! Ownership really needs to step up to the plate!!! So sad how dilapidated this place has become. Been coming here for over 40 years.

I pass this spot on my way back to Boston. My husband, the wannabe«Andrew Zimmern» wanted to try this place because of its appearance. It look like a place where you could hear some out of date woman singing«Midnight at the Oasis.» When we walked in, it smelled like cat litter and musty odor. I should of walked out then. We ordered basic fare of fried chicken, sesame chicken, fried rice and soup. No flavor at all. Everything was bland. I know I am in Pilgrim country where spice is not tolerated, but my goodness gracious! There was no flavor at all. It was by far, the worst Chinese restaurant that I have ever experienced. It was so bad(and I was so mad) that I almost left my poor husband kicking rocks along the highway. It was so bad that it hurt my feelings. That is pretty bad when food can hurt your feelings. Yangtze, I feel you stole money from me! No !! No !! No

The food tasted like the oil needed to be changed. It didn’t seem like they used good ingredients. This place is a last resort for me.

I don’t agree with the negative comments here. I understand they use to be super popular and busy back in the day. There are some issues but I still think this is a good restaurant and bar. In terms of food, I have never had a bad meal here. The buffet has been good for the most part. I haven’t tried everything on it mainly because its not something I would eat anyways. The combo orders are good, a ton of food and its not all rice, although you do get alot of that too. I mainly come here for the bar. Lin the weekday bartender is great(although I haven’t been during the week in awhile). On Saturdays, Pete tends bar and is a fantastic bartender(great Mai tai) and creates a very friendly atmosphere for regulars and newcomers alike. The Sunday bartender, Henry, is friendly and is the perfect bartender for a Sunday nite at the Yangtze.

Lots of Chinese restaurants in the vicinity, this is my favorite. Been going here for about 40 years, since I was a kid with my parents. I have had very few bad dishes in that time but they were few and far between. Maybe three in 40 years. There is one closer to my home but I drive to W. Bridgewater to get their food. It is the best, usually! I do not do their buffet nor do I recommend it. The plates are cheap enough, they offer great lunch and dinner combo meals that if you share a bit of this and a bit of that with each other, you will always have enough leftovers for another meal.

Very interesting atmosphere with excellent lounge piano entertainment. Food is so so, buffet is a good deal with many selections but leaves something to be desired in the quality department. I would recommend ordering off the menu if quality is a huge issue for you.

Usually I think the reviews I see on Unilocal are overrated, however most people nailed this one. This is by far the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had, and the service was terrible! Not to mention the place was just dirty. On our way out the hostess asked us how are food was, at first we tried to be nice and said it was ok, but she had to keep pushing until we said we didn’t like it. To say she was offended is an understatement. She was clearly of the opinion that this was top notch and her excuse was we must not be used to Polynesian food. What she didn’t know was we lived in Hawaii for three years and ate plenty of good Polynesian food. This was crap, and not exactly what I’d consider Polynesian. She can keep it, you’re not going to catch me eating it again! Later!

I remember the place used to be clean, atmospheric, good service, with food a pleasure to eat. Something has gone terribly wrong. The place was dirty and unkempt. And the food was so bad I didn’t even take the left-overs. Very disappointing. We won’t waste our time going back there.

My original review compared the food here to dog food. I feel terrible saying that since i have fond memories here from many years ago so I removed it but still, If I could have given a negative star I would have. This is my first review on Unilocal and I felt compelled to tell others to avoid this place. I grew up not far from here and loved this place back in the 80’s. Clearly it’s gone so downhill my dog eats better food than this. I went in today with my brother who also has good memories here. It seems they took the crap off the buffet, added grease, oil and other disgusting things and tried to pass it off as food. If it wasn’t dry and tasteless it was greasy and nasty. The vegetable fried rice was dark brown? Filled with so much grease we all felt noxious after. In addition the service was terrible. Our waitress looked angry to even be there and addressed us like we were putting her out. The tea was cold. Everything about this place is just wrong. So sad to have seen this place go. The Keno they have was there to distract patrons from the horrible food.

The most amazing this about this restaurant is that it is still in business. I went in search of a decent buffet and came across this place. ugh. Outside looks shabby but went in anyway thinking the inside could be better. Its not. Big place, some of it closed off, remnants of its heyday. Its late 70’s/early 80’s here. Really dated, worn and just feels sad. My optimism gave way to skepticism but still there was hope for the food. The buffet was not very big but still i had hope for the quality. Alas, it was my last disappointment. The food was dried out and not very appetizing. Some of the selections actually smelled pretty foul, something ive never experienced before. I know Chinese food is often criticized for being salty but its never really crossed my mind until this place. While i usually turn into a carnivore at buffets i actually found myself sticking to the rice at this place. This easily became the worst Chinese food ive ever had. The whole experience was awful, its defined the new low of chinese food. I can only assume its stayed in business due to location and lack of competition.

We headed to Yangtze last Friday for their dinner buffet. They had everything you’d expect for a Chineese buffet, egg foo yong, chicken chow mein, crab rangoon, chicken wings, chicken fingers, etc. I was surprised to see Lobster Sauce though, which was a nice treat. Nothing really popped out at me though as being really exceptional. For the money, it was a decent value, but I know other buffets that offer better quality food for a couple dollars less. The Jazz Bar was pretty happening though. We got to enjoy some great music while eating.

This is my local Chinese place. New Years eve, we called ahead for take-out for 6PM… … I arrived at 5:45 and left with my order at close to 8PM. Other than that, the place is normally ready in 15 minutes.

I’ve been here about a thousand times, it’s a local favorite. Food is average American Chineese fare, nothing jumps out at you. They have a fairly inexpensive buffet. One thing they do very well is run a lounge that caters to Jazz music. They frequently have really decent musicians play there.
