I ordered the ribs and bulgogi tofu combo. Delicious! The service was great and the sides were also amazing! I’ve been here several times and will continue to come!

Service is baaaad! As a Chinese, you need to name the full name of the side to get a refill. And the servant will tend to neglect if you are Asian but don’t speak Korean…

My experience here was great. It’s my second time back. The place is clean, and the servers are polite. They refilled my side dishes with generous amounts. The food was good, I love Korean food. And the portions were good.

I have tried many tofu house before but this one is the best one. The food is very tasty. And they always give wonderful services. If you don’t know anything, the waiters will like to explain. Very satisfying.

One of my favorite tofu houses to go to. Never really had a bad experience at this place. The sides they provide are very good. They even give you a free order of Korean pancakes with your order. The owners and emoyees at this establishment are very nice and attentive. The tofu is flavorful and delicious. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting.

This is a perfect place for practically every occasion: just because, family whatever dinners, anniversary, dates, too lazy to cook, etc. I say that because it’s quaint, food is made with love it’s delish, customer service is on point, prices are decent, and it’s only 5 minutes away from home. It’s no fancy resto but it’s clean and simple. I love this little family owned resto. The owners take pride in the business so they really aim to please. I usually get the jap chae and my other family members get the Bulgogi, short ribs, and hot stone bibimbap. I wish I had pictures but once the food is in the table, it’s kau kau time.

Yep, you got it. I am giving a little hole in the wall a five star and this is overall, not just based on food, which can be given a five on its own. There was a good crowd in this place, not empty for a Thursday night. We were seated immediately and our orders were taken pretty quickly(typical of a Korean place). I asked for a dolsot bibimbap combo with beoseot sundubu(mushroom) and no beef. And the boy got kalbi. We were served a free veggie pancake as an appetizer woo! And then the owner or someone who seemed like it came out with the side dishes and was so perceptive because he asked if I was a vegetarian based on my order! He didn’t even take my our order. Yeah, that’s some service! So he then proceeded to tell me that the side dishes were heavily fish-based and I was ok with that! Then later he saw us taking photos and asked if he could take one for us which was really nice because he could have tended to other tables, as this place wasn’t dead empty. And then he walked out and let us know that we could ask for more sides and such from the server. What. Never have I ever had service like this at a Korean(or Asian place for that matter) restaurant! Thank you! So the food: the sides are good. The kimchi could have used more fish sauce and salt, but it was pretty solid. Everything was pretty good — not too tart or spicy. Odd things too like dried squid and sautéed potatoes, egg/potato salad(made with mayo). Anyway, the bibimbap was good — hard to mess that up, but places have. The stone was hot hot hot and def made some crispy rice(which I loveeeee) and it had a good assortment of veggies — carrots, nori, mushroom, bean sprouts, and fried egg! Put an egg on it and it’ll be good. The sundubu was heavily spiced, less mushroom taste, but it was good enough. It just tasted very sundubu brothy. And the kalbi… the boy was raving about this. Good quality meat, not just crap with a lot of fat. And it was sizable. The cuts looked to be larger than an inch in width(of bone) which is hard to come by. Usually they’re super thin slices, but he was so stoked about how they cut it, which he presumes they did on their own, but unsure. Also, he got about 13 huge pieces when at most places, he gets about 8 – 9. That’s pretty awesome.(At the same $ 20 price). We came at the tail end of the day when they were closing too(8p and they close at 9p), so we always expect places to treat us less kind, but not here. They didn’t try to rush us out or anything. We just ate and tried to get out of their hair. Don’t go anywhere else in the area if you’re feeling Korean. Maybe if you want all you can eat, but remember that won’t be very quality. This place is awesome. I’ll def make the boy take me here more often bahaha!

I was happy to see alot of side dishes laid out infront of us. It was good too. Their tofu is pretty good, we asked for mild and it almost has no spice in it though. I will order spicy hot next time. Will definitely come back. The staff was friendly too, especially the guy that helped serve us.

Officially found my favorite Soon dubu place… they don’t have fish as a side but their side dishes are ALL so yummy, fresh, not MSG laden They even refilled my side dishes as I’m eating by myself Kim chi beef + side dishes after a terrible case of Monday blues = heaven ^_^

Me+friends, after waiting a while after ordering: «Can we have side dishes?» Server: «No. You have to wait.» He sounded rude and was dead serious and didn’t come back for another 20+ minutes. Seriously?

I was hesitant to come in here just for the ratings, and expect too much. I was wanting to eat Japanese that night, and settled on the restaurant next to it, Ami Sushi, since there wasn’t any customers in the sushi place it gave me pause. And since, Jeun Tong Tofu(here) had a few customers, I opted to try it. I used to live in Rowland Heights(where on every corner there is a Korean restaurant) and just moved here to Walnut. From what I gather, I haven’t seen too many Koreans up here. And, from experience, I noticed that even if the«Korean food» is bad, people still like it. So like I said I wasn’t expecting much. For that reason« Unilocal» wasn’t a reliable source for me when it came to Korean food. I am so glad that I did come in, the food is spot on and the service is very refreshing. Not to mention, the bathroom is immaculate. Everything is so clean and fresh. I found me a new tofu house in my new neighborhood I’m so happy!

Solid Korean house with great service, fresh variety of banchan, and English-friendly menu! Tofu soups are priced at $ 9.50 each. I went for the combination soup spicy, and it was perfect for me. It wasn’t overwhelmingly spicy, but definitely a deeper red than I’ve seen my bowls at other places. The combination was definitely packed with a lot of shrimp, oysters, clam, and meat – they definitely did not skimp here. We went after prime lunch time but it was still packed with random families and ahjusshis, so I had no doubt this was a solid pick. It’s not the most extraordinary tofu house, but it’ll definitely satisfy any cravings you may have for a pot of tofu soup… right in the middle of West Covina suburbs. They do have other items on their menu, but they were the usual bibimbap and japchae, both of which were priced around $ 12 – 13. Not sure if anyone ever gets those items here – I’d stick with the tofu soups!

So I have been here over 10 times and honestly this was the worst time yet. Usually I would’ve given this place a 4 – 5 stars but today was just awful. Let’s talk about the service. There were 2 people serving, a man(usually wears a hat) and a woman(not the older lady that wears glasses). The man was actually friendly and constantly asked us if we needed more side dishes/water. However the lady literally did not give a shit about us. We would talk to her and literally … 0 response. When we said thank you she literaly just ignored us and walked away. She wouldn’t even come to us when we needed anything.(The guy did) idk if we pissed her off or something but I find that extremely rude especially since we thanked her 3 + times The food wise was ok. Tofu is tofu nothing special but still very good. However what pissed my dad off was the meat(galbi) that was served to us. All the pieces looked extremely fatty and they gave us like 4 pieces. Also if you take a look at the picture it literally looks like someone chewed on our meat before hand. I’ve been to countless kbbq restaurants and I’ve never seen the meat like this Honestly I personally will probably give this place another shot. We’ve been coming here for so many years and it’s never been like this. I can’t say the same of my parents though. They were pretty set on banning this from our choice of restaurants

I have come to this place over the last few years due to it’s proximity to my sister’s place in Walnut. There are not many restaurant selections in this sleepy part of Southern California so Jeun Tong Tofu House is our go to place when we run out of ideas to eat since it’s got consistently good marks for it’s food. I especially love the assortment of little tiny dishes(ban chan) they serve with each meal. The helpful man always comes a few times to ask to see if you need a refill of the ban chan which is very helpful and rare in Korean restaurants. I usually get their combination plate which comes with a main dish and a tofu. It could get pricy but usually you get left overs for lunch the following day. The tofu is consistently very good and service is wonderful. I would likely recommend this place in a heart beat.

New hidden gem I have discovered. They give you a huge korean pancake as appetizer for FREE! This place has the best side dishes ever! The guy who works here is super attentive and he moves really fast! Very affordable, perfect service and and really good food. My favorite tofu place now! Beats even the LA ktown places. Got to bring all my tofu soup lovers here :) I came here on a Tuesday night and it got packed! Come Early!

This has to be my favorite soontofu restaurant, all thanks to the delicious banchan here! First of all, I always get the combination tofu, which comes with beef, shrimp, clams, and oysters. Crack an egg into the boiling soup, stir a bit, and enjoy! It’s flavorful and I recommend getting medium or hot(I’m a total wimp at spicy foods but the mild here tastes like nothing, even to me). Best part of this is that they give you real shrimp! Not the dried kinds that other places do. Now for the banchan… literally the best I ever had. Normally at Korean restaurants, I’ll enjoy 2 – 3 side dishes and the rest I disregard. NOTHERE. I like almost all of them but here are some of my favorites: — marinated dried squid is so unique! — seaweed in vinegar is refreshing — seasoned broccoli or spinach — the pan fried carrot and green onion pancake is SUPERGOOD — spicy pickled cucumbers — bean sprouts — marinated fish cake Also, you can ask then for refills which is awesome! So much food for so cheap. Overall, this place has great soontofu and great banchan. I would definitely recommend coming here over BCD if you were looking to satisfy your soontofu cravings.
