El gueros mariscos are amazingly good, I tried them when they came out to the market on Friday nights in down town la puente and got a shrimp cocktail and surprisingly to my liking I am very particular when it comes to mariscos but this family knows how to prepare them
Question, do you still go to the market thing on Friday nights in la puente?

I live around the block from this place and this place has quickly become one of my favorite spots to eat. Best fish tacos I ever had and super affordable too.
I order over the phone before I go in so that when I go in and sit down my food is already ready and the owner and staff are really friendly here.
I have had the fish tacos, shrimp tacos, oysters, and the popcorn shrimp here and all of it is amazing. Free chips and salsa when you sit down too. You can honestly go in here with $ 5 and get full and have a good time.

Hidden gem of West Covina! I’m not sure anyone knows about this place because if they did, they’d come flocking!
Located in the plaza directly across from the Edwards movie plaza!!!
Food is so delicious, and super affordable. I came for their lunch special — $ 5.99 for one fish taco and one shrimp ceviche on tostada! The fish taco was so big it was practically two tacos! Meal also includes a free drink!
What a steal! The taco and ceviche were both very authentic!!! Will definitely be back again!
Highly recommend for a quick and authentic lunch!

The food was not to my liking the shrimp cocktail was very sweet I forced myself to eat it and the tostada de ceviche had no flavor all I could taste was the lemon

Mariscos El Guero is your basic little hole in the wall joint where you can enjoy a quick mariscos meal. Family owned and operated; the cashier, hosts, and servers were clearly the kids and they clearly had no desire to be there. Snarking at each other like they were in the comfort of their own home. Not to mention, they weren’t very pleasant to their customers. Not exactly the kind of dining experience I wanted even if I just wanted a quick bite to eat.
Most of the food is served on very flimsy paper plates. Not a big deal if you’re grabbing a quick bite. The food was tasty though. Nothing amazing but tasty. Unfortunately, I would only eat here again if I really wanted mariscos and there was nothing else open.

Family owned and ran. The mariscos here are ok, nothing extra ordinary. There is no alcohol either. The service is really bad, takes about 15 min before they even acknowledge the fact that you walked in and seated yourself even when they’re not that busy. I had high hopes for this place when it first opened, it’s like a sister restaurant from Colima seafood the food is exactly the same but unfortunately the same bad service oh and not to mention the same bad smartass attitude as well. I gave this place a try twice, not coming back anymore.

This is my favorite place for fish tacos. I come here at least once a week for lunch. The portions are so huge! I usually split my taco in two two because this. It’s almost like getting 2 tacos for the price of one. Great prices, too. Two fish tacos, a soda pop & a side of chips & salsa came out to only $ 6 which is amazing. I came here with my boyfriend once & it only cost $ 12 to feed both of us.
The owner is also very sweet & makes sure all of his customers are taken care of. Great food & even better customer service. My coworkers & I love coming here :)

Excellent service here. I love the way how the owner is here and seems to care about he’s clients and costumer service. I highly recommend coming here to try out their shrimp cocktail is good. I will be coming back in the future also their costa azul.

Their fish ceviche is so delicious and fresh!
The owner is really nice and very attentive.
Its very clean and service is very fast.
Overall, I love it! So glad to have a seafood restaurant in the area!

–1 no beer (this maybe –2 considering its a mariscos restaurant)
–1 store bought chips
–1 place is small
–1 inexperienced wait staff (seemed to be lost) /​slow to bus tables.
+ 1 ordered costa azul and campechana. costa azul was excellent. Campechana was a little too sweet even with the limes, but it tasted fresh.
+ 1 the servers were nice and the effort was there
You’re better off ordering to go for now.

Went here with wife and kids after reading some great reviews on Unilocal.We’ve been on the hunt for a place that serves aguachile after craving it for long. This place does, & let me tell you… its bomb! My wife & I shared one order of aguachile, 1 dozen oysters & 4 ceviche tostadas. The kids shared a chicken nugget with fries meal. We all had drinks & it came out to $ 52. I think that’s a great deal considering how full we all got. I mean ridiculously full! The food quality was extremely on point! Everything we ordered was fresh & tasty! Can’t wait to go back!

Another great dinner here ! Love the seafood. My favorite is the mix cocktail. The service is always great and again the owners make you really feel @ home.

Wow. I am in love with this place. Very clean and the food is absolutely delicious and fresh. What I like the best about this place is the hardworking staff. The people who are waiting tables are actually the owners. Now that is admirable. I will continue to come here and send all of my friends here. Keep up the amazing work!!!

tip: great big fish tacos pan fried and not deep fried.
Free chips. Refills are 50 cents. Fish tacos $ 2.10 each. The tacos are not your ordinary dollar fish tacos off the roach coach. They give you Two large pieces of pan fried fish, with cabbage and white sauce only. No pico de gallo which is a bummer. The shrimp cerviche was made with care because they chopped everything up finely. Even the tostada held up for a very long time before turning soggy. Nice and clean dining area with 2 tv’s.
