Quest Diagnostics – West Hills

I don’t understand all the low stars on here. Other than the writers being miserable, difficult people with no concept of time management. But I’ve been here 3 times and I think that this facility and the staff are great. Once I had to wait a while, not significantly longer than any other medical facility I’ve been too (and I’ve been to a few), but they have always been professional, patient, courteous and considerate (I’m scared of needles). Plus I just listened to a kid hysterically scream the house down, and the staff handled it with such grace. So maybe all you ‘patients’ should learn to be more considerate to the staff (you don’t know what they have to put up with every day) and stop being so critical. So my advice is to please ignore the negative comments, book your appointment in advance and be on time.

They are the worst! Yes I’ve been there to have my blood drawn and they are not very friendly or courteous. But my 1-​star rating is because I just spent 25 minutes holding on the phone to speak to a live person, which is virtually impossible! All the phone prompts are automated and don’t give you the opportunity to speak to anyone. I ended up holding to speak to someone in billing, hoping they could transfer me to the front desk or receptionist so that I could ask a couple of questions. When someone finally answered, he told me that he was unable to transfer me and that both the receptionist and the phlebotomist were too busy so they don’t answer phone calls. He said there was really no way for a customer to speak to someone because they only speak to physicians. Customer friendly… NOT!

Terrible experience! I went there on a Friday afternoon for a urine sample and waited for 1 hour and 50 minutes before finally walking out. It was a glorious waste of 2 hours. For 30 minutes at a time, there wasn’t even anyone at the front desk! 4 other people walked out before me. How does this place even stay on business? Better to head to Lab Corp or some other place. Never again!

I had a great experience at this Quest location. I was fasting, came in around 9am, and was seen within about 5 minutes of my arrival. Christine was an amazing phlebotomist. You can really tell with these people that they love their job and that they are great at it. Her interaction with me was professional and comforting. My blood-​work was done before I knew it with no pain at all. All of the staff here seems very professional and welcoming. I noticed a few elderly people having trouble with the computer registration and the staff was glad to help– but also remained on schedule with others waiting. Make sure your doctor faxes over the order because sometimes their computer system doesn’t show the order– or just be sure and bring a copy with you from your doctor. Definitely recommend this Quest and Christine (Kristine?) especially if you’re fearful or nervous.

Wish I could give more stars but it’s always a long wait here (even w spot) unless u happen to get lucky. Also rather than staggering lunch hours for employees they close for an hour at lunch which for many is the only time to make it.
Update: got here at 3pm and it took over 30 minutes before they called mom in. There was only one person waiting when we arrived.

I was nervous after reading reviews about some of the Quest Diagnostics in the area but had the absolute best experience one can getting a blood test. I walked in a few minutes before my appt, signed myself in, and was called before my butt touched a seat in the waiting room. The facilities were super clean and the plebotomist was competent and efficient. I was done faster than it took to find parking (free!) and left happy to break my fast at the Subway across the street.

Very nice facility. Took my son here for some blood work. Huge and clean! On the 6^th floor in West Hills, AMAZING VIEWS. Christine was our phlebotomist. She was very friendly and professional. I’ve worked and taught in the medical field for over 15 years and she was one of the best I have ever experienced In a lab, medical back office, or hospital. From technique, to sterility, to professionalism, and friendliness. My son was impressed at how much it didn’t hurt. He hasn’t had blood drawn since he was little (bad experience), and he is 17 now, so he was expecting the worst. Very minimal pain and no bruising. A++++

Quest has always been the McDonalds of testing labs. They give consistent service but there is room for improvement here. The staff is well trained and nice. However the management is absent, lacking, and I highly doubt well trained. Their copier and office equipment is constantly broken and they get no support from home office. Try calling and no one answers the phone. I’ve never seen any management staff present.

The receptionist was very rude. Made a comment to someone behind the desk «just shoot me» she really did not want to deal with any patients. Then got up and left the reception area with no one in attendance at all. The computer said 5 – 9 mins wait and 15 mins later still waiting. Really disgusting no service at all. No one cared at all just left people sitting got up and left.

Now located in a different suite #605.
Todays experience was interesting. The lab was super packed. Practically every seat was taken. I came as a walk in and I was informed the wait would be about an hour wait.
I stayed and waited it out. I noticed that many of the patients were complaining and were beginning to get upset at how long they had to wait.
Very few people came in with appointments. I only notice 3 people that did. Perhaps there might have been one or two at most that I did not notice. staff was a team three people working and one of them was checking people in as well, so in others words only two workers were doing labs while the other person worked at the front desk.
Once I got in the service was great. My lab tech was very nice and easy going. She explained what she was going to do to me and what I needed todo for them. So i proceeded with my blood work tests per routine.
The lab was very clean and organized but note to self if possible «will make an appointment next time…»
A suggesting to the lab please work on getting people in and out faster perhaps one More Phlebotomists on board could keep your clients happy which should be priority.

Went today on my 1 hr lunch and the office was clean, fast and friendly. I was very pleased with the phlebotomist Iesha she was awesome! Very happy and will come back again if I need anymore lab work done. I even made back to work on time.

I was extremely nervous to go and get blood drawn. In most places like these, people can be standoffish and a little cold. What a nice surprise I had! Amy checked me in and was professional, swift, and very nice. We even found out we were from the same NYC borough! Everyone! Get your blood drawn from Arlene… I didn’t panic for the first time! And it didn’t hurt.

Skilled and caring staff. Low wait times. The facility is very nice and professional, it’s also easy to find. The phlebotomists their really know what they’re doing and are very kind and patient. I feel very secure when visiting this location.

I’ve been to Quest Diagnostics many times for blood work.
This place get busy! Every time, the waiting room has at least 7 patients waiting.
Ironically, what’s unexpected is the flow at which people are taken-​in, drawn and out the door!
The average time you spend in the waiting room is 5 minutes, if that. The phlebotomists are great, specially Rodrigo. Since my pregnancy I’ve seen him 3x in 5months. He’s fast at the computer and is thorough in letting you see all information is yours/​correct before samples are sent to the lab. Hopefully this will be my last lab until next year but Rodrigo joked with me and said, «See you next month!» He’s a nice man and very professional.
The best time to come to the office is 2:00pm or after and you’ll be seen right away.
The only downside to this office is that they will never pick up the phone, probably why work is handled so fast here. If you ever need records you have to pick those up from the doctor that referred you to Quest, it’s not their rule, it’s the California law.

It is a lab, so I dont expect too much, but as there is no parking issue (parking is free), it is great.
I didnt wait too much in the line for the blood work, everything was quick, simple.

Place is kinda hidden! Receptionist likes to sing out loud! She def should keep her day job!

I frantically called them at 4:23 on a Friday, lost in the parking lot and without any idea of which building they were located in. Although the lady was very nice and steered me to the right building, she did mention to me that I needed to be there by 4:30 in order to be seen today. I ran as hard as I could, found the building, and dashed into their 6^th floor office right before 4:28. The receptionist was nice, but that alone would not make me give them a 4 star rating…
I did not feel it. Yea, thats what she said… I simply did not feel the needle being injected into my arm and withdrawing 5 tubes of blood. The nurse was so gentle with me that I barely got a little bruise on my arm. I tend to look beat up after giving blood but this lady really knew what she was doing. Anyway, I got my blood drawn and out of there in no time. I probably won’t be back since I have Kaiser insurance but I would recommend this place for anyone needing to get blood work done.

I came to get a blood test and arrived at 4:32, two minutes after they closed. Before I could say anything to the receptionist, I was immediately told, «we’re closed.» After briefly pleading my case and asking if there was any way I could get it done while I was there, I was faced with another rather rude «we’re closed.» This is just about all the interaction I had while I was there. I understand if they can’t help me given that I was late, but what really bothered me was the way the receptionist wasn’t the slightest bit helpful other than telling me «no.» Also, if they can’t bend a bit or at least be mildly helpful/​accommodating to make a customer happy, that’s just bad business. I’ve been here before and they’ve done a fine job, and I will likely be back because of their convenient location in relation to where I live. But this whole experience really tweaked me the wrong way.

Jose is excellent! He was fast, efficient, and trustworthy. My doctor is from out of state and problems with billing may occur just because out-​of-​state doctors are not in their system (yes, this bill is to be forwarded to my doctor). However, he re-​assured me that he will make another call and find out if this can be billed through another way. True enough, few minutes later, Jose confirmed that they will do it manually. The re-​assurance I got gave me peace of mind. I didn’t have to cut my lunch break short, nor wake up early tomorrow to resolve this issue because Jose just made everything easy!
There were the other 2 staffs– another man and a very helpful and friendly woman. You can tell that they are caring indivuals by the way they interacted with the walk-​ins. I fully recommend this office. They are fast, friendly and professional.

Seriously, one of my doctors gave me a requisition to have 3 tests taken and I googled the locations and this one was the closest for me. I left work at 9:10am and got back a half hour later, (my job is about 10 min from this location), THAT’S how quick they were at Quest.
I didn’t have an appointment because I had read that they accept walk-​ins, so i walked in hoping it wouldnt take too long. One guy was already signing in but another employee came to greet me right away while the first guy was walking to the back to do whatever he needed to do. The Phlebotomist took my insurance card and made a photocopy while i filled out my address on the requisition. I literally sat down for maybe 30 seconds before I was told to go into a specific room. As I was walking back, everything was nice and clean, the other staff members smiled and were friendly as i walked past them. The Phlebotomist drew my blood and it wasn’t painful, she filled the 3 tubes while chatting with me, then pulled out real quick and bandaged me right up.
The entire process from walking in the door to walking out the door was 5 minutes excatly. Talk about speedy service. It took about 2 minutes for the elevator to get back to the 6^th floor and here I am. back at my desk, my absence not even noticed :)
Clean/​sterile surroundings, friendly customer service and FAST!
