Bird

I am European, so if a store stocks European designers, for me, that doesn’t make it an immediate hit. European design has its mistakes as does American. However, my two star review of this store is for the customer service I received today. When asking the stores proprietor if she had any more underwear lines coming in she said ‘No’, a blunt ‘No’ no further explanation, then she turned backon me, going back to her computer which appeared more interesting than her customer. The only customer in the store. Granted, I had just returned from having a facial at Kate Somerville next door, and had a bit of a red face, which combined with my rather crumpled button down, meant that I did not look quite as dressed up as her. She in question wearing a rather weird get up of double layer, Tulle skirt, leggings and bondage shoes. However, customer service should be given at all costs regardless of s customers appearance. I have given two stars for the Repetto ballet flats that are stocked here which are fabulous and another for the equisite line in underwear (even if the lines haven’t changed since I last purchased some lingerie there 8 months ago) Minus three stars for the very ‘Un European’ lack of manners.

This place is overrated. I didn’t find anything interesting there and everything was really expensive.
i didn’t recognize any designer there and the clothes were rather boring.
but i’ll give it two stars for the location — it’s in a very beautiful place, a little hidden on melrose place. right in front of the store, i saw an actress from «entourage» posing in front of a fire truck for the paparazzi. It made my day :)

It’d be five stars if I could afford anything here. But it’s not Bird’s fault I’m a lady on a budget. The staff is always ridiculously friendly, no matter how junky I look, and the selection of clothing is amazing. They have lots of European lines, including my beloved Repetto ballet flats and Sonia Rykel. If you’ve got cash to spend, this is a great place to do it. And if you don’t, but enjoy a good browse, Bird is still an excellent option.

Nutshell version on this very cute store is that it’s filled with very pricey little outfits, jewelry, fluorescent undies (I know what?) and a few cute shoes that were in the upper $ 400 range (yeah, not so much). The girl working there was super friendly and tatted up and it felt like we were in a grownups dollhouse or something. I didn’t buy anything as it was all way out of my price league, but if you have money to blow and want to see some cute stuff, then check this place out!
