What a cool, eclectic assortment of… stuff. There’s retro clothing and vinyl in one room and smoking accessories in the other. I’m sure the vintage apparel is all fine & dandy, as others have commented, but what I’m interested in is their smoke secsh. I’ve bought a few things from them in the past, beginning with a blue Sharpstone grinder I got three years ago. The threads have gotten worn down since(and I lost the little scoopie, sad day!) so I ventured back downstairs to peruse their wares. I found a medium-sized silver Sabertooth grinder for $ 25, which was less than other smoke shops in the area. The employees have always been helpful and chill(a prerequisite to work here, no doubt), and they treat their customers well. A few Aprils ago, on 4/20, they gave away free handpipes for anyone that made a $ 10 purchase, which I thought was awesome. They have a nice assortment of vapes, waterpipes, and one-hitters, too. Good hookah collection and lots of shisha to choose from, if that’s your thing. Even after ‘shopping around’ for the lowest prices on pipes and whatnot, Amused still had the best deals in West Lafayette. Cool people and quality products at a reasonable price point. They’ve definitely earned my repeat business.

I’m reviewing their clothing area. =) I love skirts and dresses. Actually it’s all I wear. Amused has two kinds of women’s clothing — kind of vintagey(from classic to kitsch) and what I lovingly term ‘hippie’. They have probably the best hippie dresses that I’ve seen in the area. The prices are pretty affordable($ 15 for some of them up to $ 30ish) — and while the selection isn’t department store-esque, that’s not why you came here, right? You wanted something different! The sizes range from small small to plus size(size 24+). They have a little bit of separates, but the thing here for women’s clothing are the dresses. Flowy long and short ones, adjustable tie tank-tops, cute skirts and from silk velvet to polyester vintage stuff. For flowy cute funky hippie dresses, this is the place in Lafayette/W.Lafayette. It’s why I continue to shop here =)(well, that and their great hookah selection, but you can read Jon C’s review for more about that side of their store =))

I’m reviewing their tobacco/hookah department, not the clothes/accessories area. My wife and I wanted a small hookah to have at home, and we’d seen Amused’s sign a few days back, saying they carried hookahs and accessories. Boy do they! The dude that helped us choose one was super knowledgeable and helpful. He helped us pick out a small glass Mya hookah which we love. Their selection of shisha rocks. They carry Starbuzz(ALL flavors), Fantasia(probably all the flavors; they have a ton), Al Fakher, Tangiers, and a couple others. They also have coals(natural and self-light) and everything else you need to smoke hookah at home. If you’re looking to get into hookah — go here!

I got lots of clothes here during college. Funky hippie skirts and dresses, funny t-shirts, etc. My favorite is a skirt made out of an old Oakland Raiders sweatshirt(funny enough, I live by Oakland, CA now). This is a great place for Breakfast Club and Halloween costume materials. The all-time best purchase was a pair of exquisite cream colored cowboy boots, already broken in, and fit me like socks. $ 20. I don’t think I’ll ever beat that.

This place really makes me miss the good old days in college. They had some clothes, shoes, purses/bags and did piercings as well. I had my nose and tragus pierced here and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. The thing I loved the most about this place was the sweet vintage ties. I worked at Olive Garden through college and having awesome ties made me feel less like a dude in my uniform :)

There can be some good clothes and then a lot of bad clothes. They have started carrying American Apparel now so that is a bonus. I don’t skateboard, but if I did I would be shopping there.

I miss the stickers they used to sell here. The hair dye is good shit though. The clothes are ok, some really cool others look like trash.
