Typical diner, service is usually quick. The owner lords over the place and ensures you get seated without delay. The vibe is to move customers in, get them served, and then get them out quickly. Food is fairly good, a notch above typical diner fare. Keep your orders simple, don’t customize too much or ask for unrealistic special accomodations. Prices are Ok. I used to visit whenever we went to the shore a few times year, but last couple visits felt the staff and some customers were rude, so we skipped them. There are tons of places to eat in the area, but I don’t think they’ll miss my business, plenty of cab drivers and night owls to keep the seats warm.

Average diner. Gyro was pretty good. French fries we’re tasteless. Kind on dungeony feeling. They need to redecorate and make better fries. Also the desserts look unappetizing, they need a new display case.

Went last night and food was okay. Not sure why there was only one server on for dinner service when they could have used at least one or two more. We most likely won’t go back.

Good diner and I’m a new yorker so I know a good diner. Service was pleasant but slightly delayed. Food was hot and tasty. Recommending the breakfast wrap and Portuguese omelet!

Dingy and dirty, our waitress was an ass. This was our first and last visit. My daughter preferred hash browns over home fries when we were sat I asked if they had hash browns and she said yes and I said«oh good» apparently I had to really really express my need for the hash browns, when my daughters food came out with home fries I said Oh she wanted hash browns and the waitress said you didn’t tell me, I said we talked about it when we were sat, so the waitress says if you still want hash browns you’ll have to pay extra. if you want a tip you’ll have to be a little nicer. Would it have broke the bank to give a 12 year old some hash browns? It’s stuff like that I’ll hold against you and never return, there are lots of other diners.

Been here a few times. Fast friendly service and food is always spot on! I love that the owner is always here and greats everyone as soon as they walk in. Also this place is very clean which is a big deal for me! Or of the better diners in NJ

Excellent service and friendly staff. Really made you feel like home. The waitresses obviously knew the regulars, and they were quick to service me, having casual conversations, and engaging all the customers. It didn’t even matter who my server was, whenever I needed anything all were quick to help me and each other. It was lunch time, and relatively quiet, so unsure if its different when busy. I got the rueban, it was the best Id ever had in looks and taste. It looked so good, in fact, two customers who watched the waitress bring me my order and asked what it was, and ordered it themselves. Two different tables. Even the waitress told me she was going to order it on her break. The taste completed the look. It had the perfect amount of sweet and tart, not too greasy, piping hot cheese that strung from the fork. I think I want one right now!

Delicious & classic diner fare! Grilled cordon bleu is amazing!!! We also had the pot roast, it was so tender & the turkey meatloaf smothered in yummy gravy & even my 3yr old nephew ate grilled salmon for dinner!

Coffee not so good(tasted burnt), however, I got the corn beef hash, with sunny side up eggs and was very satisfied. If the coffee was better, I would’ve gave this place 5 stars… The workers are very friendly. Great place to go for a quick breakfast before hitting Monmouth Park for the day. Just make sure to have your coffee at home.

First of all: Seriously it’s a diner NOT a bar — I don’t understand dinging them for NOT having a liquor license, few diners in NJ do(the only one I know of is the one in Middletown, and I’m not even sure if they still do since this was YEARS ago I remember them having one). A diner serves mostly breakfast and food. If you want beer or booze go to Applebees or Fridays. SMH I love this diner. It’s probably my favorite in the area. Pete the owner is super nice and very friendly. Their breakfast is delicious. Their food is great(for diner food). If you want something you don’t see ask, and they should be able to make it if it looks like they have the stuff.(i.e don’t ask for Masaman Curry but if you want your salmon seasoned with something they should have ask). Waiters and waitresses have always been nice, place has always been clean enough for diner, service is always as fast as they can given staff/crowd.

This is a small but basic diner. Nothing more, nothing less. There are much better diners in the area so this would not be my first, second or third choice. And to the poster complaining about the lack of a liquor license, in NJ no diners have liquor licenses. This is due to how expensive liquor licenses are in NJ.

Horrible service. Not prepared for weekend rush at breakfast. Food very mediocre and not worth the 9 dollar omlette

I don’t understand the complaints really. I have never been to a diner that had a liquor license, so I don’t know why you would expect them to serve beer. Go to a place with«restaurant» and/or «bar» in the title. «Diner» generally means they specialize in breakfast all day, large lunch specials and carry almost all staple cravings. Friendly attentive wait staff. Building is a little run down, but I reiterate… its a DINER.

Its a diner and they serve standard diner faire that was decent. I just moved to the area and looking forward to their breakfast. Ethan was a very nice waiter.

Maybe this is a great breakfast place, but for any other meal go somewhere else. We wanted two fairly simple things — I wanted a decent salad, and she wanted a beer. The salad options were meager at best — house, ceasar, and greek. The greek salad was made with iceburg lettuce. Really, diner? You don’t have mixed greens? They also don’t have a liquor license, apparently. I’ve never been to a diner that didn’t have a full bar. We ended up getting two waters, a root beer, and leaving $ 5 on the table before leaving. We don’t plan on going back.

Yuck. Thats all I can say. Its not a 1 star because it wasn’t the worst exeperience in my life. But from my weak turkey burger and fries, to seein the collective dissapointed look on my coworker’s faces when the food came out rightly earns this place 2 stars. Don’t go.

I stopped in for breakfast one Sunday morning — had a very filling round of eggs, pancakes, bacon, grapefruit juice, coffee and the local morning newspaper. There were a lot of families eating breakfast, including a plethora of old timers. Nothing spectacular here ambiance-wise, just solid diner food.
