Dulce De Leche Bakery

Must be the best secret in the area. Nice and clean, and many customers lined up for bakery/​pastry. The line was out to the door on Fathers Day morning.
Had a spinach pie and a potato torta at café, larger than I expected, and very tasty! Café con leche was delicious. They have separate kitchen menu so they have hot foods other than sweets.
Bought a box of mini cakes, those are ok.
Their filled churros are very good.
Bought a chocolate cake for Fathers day, VERY DELICIOUS!!!
Their packaged sandwich (in crust-​less white bread) are very popular among customers, and good snack!
Note: people behind the counter speaks English (as a second language for some), patiently helped my questions.
Only downside is to find a spot on street parking!

I went to a friends engagement party and watched them cut the cake like any other day, any other party… She reached over with a plate as everyone was talking. When I took the first bite. My palate exploded, literally. I looked down at my plate and holy sh*% that was the best tasting cake I’ve had in a really really long time. I cut the conversation short and needed to know what this Slice of heaven was called and where it’s from. It was the dulce Leche cake (apparently it’s very popular and it’s clear why). Long story short, she is bringing me the cake this weekend– So long beach body.

Amazing! I had my wedding cake done here and it was gorgeous and delicious. They are very fairly priced as well I will keep coming back for future events

I’ve come here many times for birthday cakes, pastries, empanadas and more.
The flavor and quality is all there.
They have a great selection of cakes, I’ve gotten a rich chocolate cake with dulce de leche inside and a large cake that looks like all the others but is actually tres leches inside with strawberries on top.
The also have an assortment of empanadas including chicken, beef, ham and cheese, spinach and cheese and I think a few more. They even have what type each Empanada is printed on the side.
Don’t get me wrong I love the beef empanadas but I have to say it’s disappointing to get there at 6 am sometimes like this morning, and the empanadas are ice cold inside.
I would think they would be fresh from that morning but I guess that’s not the case.
No matter what time of day they are always cold. Even when I ask for them warmed they are warm on the outside, but after one bite I can tell it has not been completely cooked through.
My second pet peeve is when I order for pick up.
Now, I completely understand that they are busy. However, being put on hold for over ten minutes is a little ridiculous. Especially when I call back immediately and someone helps me right away? Something tells me they just forgot.
Also when I went in to pick up the order first thing after I had ordered the night before to pick up at a specific time I still had to wait 25 minutes.
Overall, the food is good.
The service could be a little better.

I love this bakery, but they need to create a better system for their ordering process. All their baked goods are excellent, especially their Tres Leches, which is not overly sweet, like other establishments. However, it takes around 15 minutes to order anything, as you order, pay, wait, and receive your item (s) at the register. If you forget to add something after you’ve paid, guess what? You have to get back in the line that seems endless.
Love their baked goods and sandwiches and I’ll continue to dine here, but they should really implement another system, maybe similar to the one Starbucks has, in order to provide better service.

The baked goods are amazing and the sandwiches are excellent at their Bergenline Ave. store.
Such a great find and happy they opened up on the waterfront! Now I don’t have to drive to get my churro fix.

Love this place! Definitely my favorite bakery! Makes great cortaditos, café con leche, freshly squeezed orange juice. They also have delicious pastries, quiches, and breads. Assorted, beautifully presented mini pastries are great as host gifts for dinner parties. Definitely a go to place for me and definitely one of Hudson county’s best bakeries

I just come here for the pastries but the customer service is awful. The emoloyees are always engaged in conversations between them and pay little to no attention to customers. When it is your turn, they make you feel like they have no time for you. And that they have no patience for your questions or inquiries. Too bad because some of the pastries are really good. Honestly I prefer to walk to 76 st to a similar but friendlier bakery.

I live in west New York… its take me 20 min for walk to get to this shop… coffee is delicious just the way i want fresh clean and affordable price love it…

This place is always a pleasure to come too!!! I don’t mind the drive but I do hope they expand! The café con leche, cheese empanadas, beef empanada, pastries and Spanish omelette is our staple brunch here!!! But everything is amazing!!!

I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve never had a bad coffee, bad service, or bad pastry. I’ve bought cakes for birthdays that were rich and flavorful.
Recently I’ve been eating their pre made sandwiches before or after running to get my nails done on the corner and they’re pretty tasty!
Honestly tho, best cafè con leche and the prices are ridiculously low. I’ve even gone in w change from my car and gotten a coffee and something to eat.
And the cashier didn’t even give me attitude for being «that customer.»
During the World Cup when Argentina was winning for finals everrryyyyooonnneeee was outside/​inside the place celebrating with the HUGE Argentinian flag draped over the entire building. That was the day I realized it was an Argentinian place LOL.
Free wifi also a plus and outlets all along both walls where the tables are
Would recommend for sure.

Love Dulce De Leche Bakery! Located right on Bergenline in West New York this store front is the perfect place to get some good breakfast or lunch with additional Argentinian pastries. Anytime I am hosting a gathering I always place an order of empanadas from here because they are the perfect size, taste delicious, and I think the labeling of them (beef, chicken, etc.) is really cool.
For today’s treats I had a ham and cheese (swiss) croissant that the wonderful ladies toasted for me. These are super delicious mostly because the croissant itself has the perfect amount of sweetness. I also had a beef empanada.
This bakery has very limited seating so if you are looking to sit down and munch be on the look out for seats. No matter what day or time they always have customers in and out. On weekends especially you’ll easily be waiting on line for 10 – 15 minutes. The staff does an excellent job with serving everyone as quickly and most importantly friendly in a timely fashion.
Don’t want anything from the bakery window itself? No problem! On the side they have freshly made sandwiches (ham and cheese, tuna, turkey, etc.) that are prepared daily and you can grab and pay and you’re on your way. These are packed with a lot of sandwiches cut up so they are good for more then one person.
Cannot forget to mention the delicious cakes that they specialize in. True Argentinian cakes that are made with fresh fruits and sweets. Lastly, free wifi! So if you want to pass up on Starbucks one day while finishing up some work stop by Dulce De Leche Bakery and grab yourself un café con leche y un postre!

I am one of those lucky people, who was around when this place opened up several years ago and it was nowhere near as crowded. It is always nice to have a sit-​down café in West New York, b/​c there are so few of them and back in the day, my daughter was still in a stroller (she is 11 now) — no way a stroller can fit into the small eatery now!
Coffee at this bakery is very good, maybe a bit better than the other local bakeries; it is Spanish coffee, which is latté style and costs $ 1 (or $ 1.25 — maybe more now) for a modest cup. Who needs Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts? I used to buy the mini «butterfly» pastries (palmier) and enjoy them with my toddler. They were 5/​$ 1 — crazy cheap, probably not the same price now. The cookies and pastries taste of real butter but not heavy. You can get sandwiches with whole grain bread. The empañadas are tasty, but I’m not much of a connoisseur — bought a dozen for my mother-​in-​law and she offered to pay me for another dozen so she could store them in her freezer.
My kids love to watch the orange juice machine at the front of the counter, where whole oranges are tossed in and instantly compressed for juice. Fresh squeezed orange juice is a fantastic treat for any time of day!
I don’t come here as often, simply because I don’t have time to stand on line. But I would come here every day if it wasn’t always so crowded!

Sheesh… this place was non stop… customers coming in and out either to stay and have a quick bite, pick up a savory or sweet to go, or order a cake… it was busy! It was around 6ish at night.
Things to know:
— Street «metered» parking until 9pm so bring them quarters.
— About 20 seats in the restaurant
— Pay attention to the line because it can get crazy
— Lots of savory and sweets to choose from
— Empanadas (Beef, chicken, 4 cheese, ham and cheese, and tuna) (these were just ok)
— Lots of different Quiches
— They make TRES LECHE cakes
— Known for their peach filled dulce de Leche cake with whipped cream (they are sold by the slice)
— Service… busy but they were very helpful especially when I ordered a cake
— dinner options (pasta, Breaded chicken and fries, sandwiches and more)
Here’s my opinion on what I ate:
Milanesa Chicken and Fries… my son loved this and it was good. Breaded chicken was seasoned great and it wasn’t greasy… fries were hot and crisp. Other dinner entrees were veggie/​meat lasagna, ravioli (mushroom, spinach or ricotta) and choice of sauce… I got the spinach Ravioli with pink sauce and it was delicious… I like my pasta more al dente but the taste made up for it… the pesto sauce was sold out DARN! There was other dinner options to choose from including soup (they had split pea and chicken dumpling).
— Quiches were pretty good, kinda wish the crust was a bit more flaky
— DESSERTS oh man… so many to choose from. We had the tres leche and it was pretty darn good.
I will come back and try more of their desserts and their savory options. I can’t wait to pick up the cake. We ordered a chocolate covered cake with fresh strawberries with dulce de Leche and whipped cream… OMG can’t wait!!!

Dulce de Leche is one of the most amazing bakeries with the best cake I ever had that I ordered for my Husband’s bday ! I ordered Chocolate cake with Dulce de Leche n Chcocolate Mousse filling and got some fruit toppings for it ! It was so delicious n beautiful. Will order again for my coming events ! Also, the desserts are so beautiful, tried Chocolate Mousse cup! Tuna Quiche, just love it! Thanks Dulce de Leche

Dulce De Leche Bakery made my wedding cake and it exceeded anything I could have imagined. We met with Mariana and I sent her some images of cakes I liked and they came up with the most beautiful cake I have ever seen. The process could not have been easier, which is exactly what a bride wants and needs. Not only was it gorgeous but it was so delicious, everyone raved about it and I am actually looking forward to having it on our year anniversary. We get all our cakes and pastries from Dulce de Leche now and are never disappointed. The food and coffee in their café are also really excellent.

Don’t be fooled by this little modest hole in the wall bakery. This is an incredible bang for your buck. Solid coffee and pastries. I was particularly impressed with the spinach pie. It was sooooooo good!
Had a pretty decent cappuccino several times. It’s a go to place for sure. Only reason it misses a star is because the tables weren’t clean and they don’t seem to keep a stern eye on them after folks leave. Cozy local spot.

Good little bakery, but nothing to write home about. The dulce de leche cakes had a strange spicy aftertaste — like cardamom or cloves that did not work with the peaches and cream — a bit off putting. The flan is – well — flan-​like but without that indulgent creamy richness I look for in the best versions of this dessert. OTOH the puff pastries with baked cream and a dollop of something that tastes like guava paste were very good; I would get these again. Nice place to have dessert or a quick breakfast or brunch in town. Pleasant folks.

the ONLY reason why is because I can’t handle the lines, they always mess up giving me something short or more (which is good), or the WRONG item. They also take your order and then walk you to the cashier where 10 people are standing in line for, which I have NO clue why. I’m assuming to get a cake, but you still have to wait in line DONT get any funny ideas.
I love the empanadas. My roomie and I are addicted. I love the cheese and spinach, but I always take it home and eat it. They have seating, but its families and I feel bad taking aware from that.
The fresh orange juice is delicious and Its a reasonable price too. I really like the variety, the breads, pastries, cookies, candies, cakes are tasty looking. This place is the happening spot in this area. Looking to kill time and have a cup of coffee? relax, read a book or paper? this is the perfect spot. I will say its not a place to open your laptop up on the weekends. Families come in and hang out and enjoy their family time before, after, and during church (always family time), so please be considerate.
I live about 20 blocks away and have NO problem walking here. :)
