Great, fast service… very efficient. Hannah was very nice. She is very busy but manages to handle everybody. I will go back just for the quick service alone. The prices are very reasonable especially for being in West Newton Square.

Hair By Hanna has been a staple in the newton community, because of Hanna’s ability to provide unparalleled experience. When one goes to Hanna’s salon they get an experience. I don’t want to say anymore, CHECK IT FOR YOURSELF.

This place is horrible. I went for a haircut. The owner did my cut and talked on the phone the entire time, phone tucked between her ear and shoulder. I ended up with a cross between a shag and a mullet. The «layers» were essentially a bowl cut over my long hair, not blended at all. I kept thinking it would get better, but I was wrong. A few days later I went back and she barely acknowledged me. After arguing, she said she’d fix it herself. I said, no thank you. Worst experience ever.

Hanna is the best! She is so quick and knowledgeable! A real expert in her field.
Ive been seeing her over 10 years now and her salon feels like a good friends home to me! I have tried different places here and there just to compare and no one does my hair with such fast precision as her. Im not impressed with those fancy expensive salons that fuss on you for an hour, to not even get the same results as hanna does in 15 minutes! Hanna, im here to stay!

I had my highlights done at Hair by Hanna. The color is amazing. She took such great care and pride in choosing the right color. She styled my hair after that and I must say this is the first time that in a long time that I absolutely love my hair. Hair by Hanna is the best. I highly recommend.

Efficient and wonderful. Yes she’s fast but she also works with her customers. If you want a fancy salon you will pay more and it will take longer. She also does kid’s hair; tell her what you want and she’ll do it. Yes she cuts quickly, but that’s great for me. One wonders why we spend so long in the salon chairs. She is an interesting person with a great sense of humor too.

I have gone to Hair by Hanna for 9 years. But this time, I wanted something very different. I showed Hanna a picture and she made it happen. Hanna has a gift for listening and giving me exactly what I want at a reasonable price. I love the neighborhood feel of her salon.

I’m new in the area and was looking for a new salon. After reading the current reviews on Unilocal I decided to give this place a try, but I should have known better. It sounded like a reasonably priced salon with experienced staff. I parked at a meter on the street and put in the maximum amount of time I could, enough quarters for one hour. Honestly I was worried that maybe I wouldn’t be out of the salon in time before my meter ran out. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I was there at the salon no longer than 20 minutes that’s including walking to and from my car, waiting in the waiting area, a hair wash, cut and dry. The woman barely said hello to me and was not gentle at all. I told her I wanted a left part and bangs but she began cutting my hair in the middle. When I told her again I wanted a side part it was if she didn’t hear me and she kept cutting my hair in the middle! She also «forgot «i wanted bangs. Honestly felt like I wanted to cry as she quickly hacked at my hair and rushed me out the door. I felt unwanted and left feeling terrible about my hair. I will never go back to that place… a place where they did not listen to what I wanted, didn’t take the time to even get to know me as a new customer, and where I felt like I was so rushed I couldn’t enjoy the experience! Don’t waste your money!

NEVER EVER GET ANYTHING DONE FROM HANNA! SHE IS AWFUL! Worst haircut of my LIFE, which has finally grown back out. cut my hair WAY TOO SHORT and she was trying to make excuses for it, saying things like, «no, you just sweep them to the side like this», even though she obviously knew they looked too short. had a nasty smokers voice, tacky accent and talked way too much about herself. i was SO MAD for MONTHS at this woman for ruining my hair.

I was very impressed with Hanna! She was friendly, quick, and talented. My hair drives me crazy, and I wasn’t sure what to do to make it easier to manage. I told her I wanted a few inches off and maybe some layers. She did a great job! She even did a nice job straightening my hair without any product or a flat iron. I wish I could do that!
I was particularly impressed that she washed my hair, gave me this nice haircut, and blow dried it straight in less than a half hour! I will return.

I am so tired of the $ 70+ haircuts on newbury street. you pay more for the expensive rent and don’t necessarily get a great cut.
I came here after seeing the before and after pictures in the window of this very humble salon. Hanna asked me what I was looking for by showing me magazines, giving her advice, and listening to what I wanted. «Yes, Rihanna haircut would look good on me, but I want to keep my hair shoulder length.» Thank god!
She’s very casual, sings while she cuts hair, but man, the cut is great! And I have hard to cut stick straight asian hair! And only $ 35 — so I gave her a really good tip.
I wish that I would have found this place earlier! I’m going to come back when I’m ready to have a high maintenance Rihanna hair cut. :)
