My grandfather had just died and we needed food for 40 people after the funeral service. Not only did we run out of food but it cost 700 $ for the first order which included white fish. I had to order a second time so our family could eat and it cost another 700 $ only this time we received tuna instead of white fish, which should have been cheaper. When we called with our concerns about his pricing we received a rigid response in that it cost per head and not by the amount of food. Despite my family being in the community for 40 years we received little to no compensation in this time of grief. This place is not worth it and the owner is a crook.

Today I went to Reuben’s Glatt Spot to grab a pastrami sandwich for my father who is recovering at Daughters of Israel in West Orange which provided this establishment’s name as an approved Kosher, Orthodox Deli. I don’t even know where to begin!!! When you walk through the front door, the first thing you see is an old broken up formica counter with wads of phone wires hanging down to the cracked, dirty floor tiles with some pieces missing, some lifted and some sunken.(a clear liability issue) Next, there is a huge, non functioning(I assume) refrigerated grocery display that was mostly empty except for the boxes and papers and random items scattered about.(similar to one’s kitchen«junk drawer») Next there was an actual glass meat case which displayed all of about 4 meats! There were no menu boards listing what sandwiches, salads, etc., were available and most shelves were empty. It reminded me of being in a third world country not suburban New Jersey! My first question to the employee was to ask if they were going out of business because the store looked as if it had been picked over and barren.
