Giant sign on the front window saying fried chicken… And they never have it. The food is pretty good, but the wait for it is not worth the visit. It is just like Jamaica… Painfully slow. I used to go a few years back almost twice a week for lunch, but I just don’t bother anymore. I don’t know how they are still in business. The traffic in the place has dried up.

I make it a habit to support local businesses in WPB. Today I decided to try the poorly lite Caribbean Choice(located on N. Military Trail) and was highly disappointed. I ordered a large stew peas which was mainly a lot of beans and rice. Two pieces of pig tail. $ 12.50, two dollars more then the advertised price of $ 10.95. We also ordered a jerk chicken lunch special. Thanks for the kids portion of food. The«lunch special» came in a side plate(not a full togo container) and was literally a chicken thigh cut in half on top of a pot spoonful of rice and a dinky portion of cabbage. The best part is, the lunch specials are $ 6.00. An insult really. I always tell people«if a restaurant is not full of people, don’t go to eat.» That applys to Caribbean Choice. Plus, the food is not the Caribbean flavor I’m use to. Pretty bland. My Advice? Go to Oxtail’s. Its less then a two minute walk south from Caribbean Choice. Large portions and quality food. They don’t overcharge and skimp on the meat. You DONOT get what you pay for at Caribbean Choice.

As you walk into Caribbean Choice you may think you entered Popeye’s by accident. It a big fast-food counter with pictures of fry chicken specials with fries and stuff, until you look around an notice there is more to meet the eye on this little place located on the far west of Belvedere Rd. Ox tail, Jamaican patties, chicken jerk, pork stew, Caribbean beef soup… the list goes on. They serve different daily specials and It seems quite popular among the locals. The place looks new and it was very clean and taken care of. The staff was very friendly, the food was quite cheap, quick and everything I tried was tasty), and I’m intrigued enough with the offbeat menu to get back there someday and try the other dishes. The Good: Very affordable, Spicy Jamaican beef patties were good. The Bad: Looks like a fast food place. Parking is a labyrinth. The Ugly: A weird looking soup that looked like tripe.
