Wanted to like this place. We came in and were seated, but no one spoke to us or brought us menus for 15 minutes. Even though some of the waiters were wandering around or talking. Once I asked someone for menus though, they brought them right away and gave us great service. The food was ok. I ordered tater tots, shrimp and grits and BBQ sliders to share. The tater tots came frozen in the middle and we had to send them back. The sliders and grits were good. Waitress was nice once she showed up. Martinis were excellent. I would probably return to the bar, but skip the food.

Went here during sunfest. The food was great. Had the blackened mahi sandwich. Was very tasty, and fresh not fishy at all. Love the shoestring fried with garlic churns I sauce. Mmmmm Bf had the tomatillo burger. He must have loved it because I looked away and looked back it was gone! Lol. Now the down side drinks were subpar. No fresh juices. Weird. Guess the gastro pub is only about beer. Sat outside with our dog. Which is cool. Service was dodgy. When I told our first waiter we needed some time, he never came back. Female server came out and said she didn’t know we were there. Nice! We were in no hurry so it’s no biggy. Also it was sunfest Friday night, but the restaurant wasn’t busy. There was only one other table outside.

My co-worker highly recommended this place so the husband and I went last night. First impression, not too good. The front is totally open to the outside, which might appeal to some, but not me. We are in Florida, it’s hot… and humid, give me some cold A/C. They have an open kitchen which is nice to be able to see the food being prepared… but not so nice to see the sweaty chef constantly wiping his sweaty face on his sleeves. Upon sitting, our super nice server took our drink orders and brought us a basket of their free chips, not too bad, but just chips. Totally lacking flavor. We ordered the calamari and risotto balls as appetizers. The calamari had zero flavor, but were hot and crispy. The risotto balls were quite tasty and the mayo based dipping sauce was pretty decent. For my meal I was drooling over the shrimp and grits while my husband ordered the turkey and egg open faced sandwich. My dish was super bland, but the shrimp were HUGE. The menu says cheesy grits… I tasted absolutely no cheese. My husband’s sandwich was cold, even though it’s supposed to be hot. He couldn’t even get through half of it, the cold egg was throwing him off. They were nice enough to take his sandwich off the bill. All in all, I couldn’t wait to leave. I usually give restaurants a second chance but I don’t think I will be back to Gratify.

I have a difficult time with Gratify. I’m confused, Gratify is confused or it’s just a confusing undecided scene. It holds itself out to be a «gastropub,» albeit an American gastro pub; whatever that may be, may not be or in some sense is suppose to mean. The classic definition would be a place that serves«high-end» beer and ale but with an emphasis on food. Granted they do have some good beers, their food however is just barely north passable, but then there are a host of matters having nothing to do with beer, ale or food. Maybe that’s what they mean when they qualify the definition by stating that it is an «American» gastropub. First off, it has flat screens all over the place, and what is it that is being shown on those flat screens? Basket ball, bowling, golf or whatever other sport might be in season. Basically, sitting there gave me the distinct impression that I may have wondered into a what is little more than another low end low quality beer guzzling, crappy food sports bar, but then they don’t hold themselves out to be a sports bar. The other thought is that it might be classified as a «neighborhood bar,» but not only isn’t it actually located within a well defined neighborhood, the patrons there also weren’t from any particular nearby neighborhood. Whatever Gratify is, it left me nonplused, unimpressed and totally ungratified. The service is slow and bumbling, the place is noisy and the food hardly worthy of mention. Yes, their fish and chips aren’t bad, but the fries that I was served with it came greasy and cold. Their crab on avocado comes pretty much just like it indicated on the menu, being little more than a scoop of vinaigrette dowsed crab meat over a smash of avocado topped by a couple sprigs of watercress and side garnishment of three potato chips. Srsly! Yes, as I said, a side garnished of three potato chips which you may witness yourself from the picture I’ve uploaded. I had to take a picture of it since I’ve never myself been confronted by such unstylish, cheap, tawdry presentation. Since the food is OK and since they do have a decent selection of brews, I can give it three stars, meaning that the place is survivable, but do so begrudgingly since it is really more like a 2.5 on a one to five scale.

I went to this restaurant with my wife base on the reviews from this website. Never seat inside the kitchen is right next to the tables and it make the place really hot. The waitress come to the table maybe twice through the whole time we were there. We order appetizers and after we were done the waitress never came to remove the plates from our table. By the time we got the entrees we have no space on the table. They did not refill our drinks. We order the pork chop and the blue cheese burger. The burger was too bitter for my taste. The food was average but I have to say, the service was one of the worse I had in a long time. I do not plan on returning to this place anytime soon.

Well, we returned to Gratify to see if the situation had improved since our last visit for JP’s birthday. I am very sad to report that Gratify is still sub-par. The atmosphere was loud and not conducive to conversation of any sort. There were dirty napkins on the bench when we were shown to our table :-(. The burgers were reminiscent of CostCo patties. The potato chips, which used to be aMAZing, were soggy with deep fryer oil. Our server was very chipper, though, and she recommended a nice beer. Too bad it came in a can. We keep saying that we won’t go back to Gratify. I am afraid this time it might be true.

Stopped in for a couple of beers on a Saturday afternoon. I had a Maduro Brown Ale and a Palm Belgium Ale on tap. Not a big fan of Brown Ales. They are a little too grainy for my taste. Hard to explain. I like the smooth texture of Pale Ales. The Palm drought was tasty though, I can’t recall having that prior, but I’ll ask for it again. Gratify is a pretty cool place and a must-stop to visit when on Clematis. The bartender was very helpful in picking out a couple of beers for me. You can sit indoors or out. On the inside, they have three TVs with sports on. The music in the background is 1990s alternative. I’m looking forward to returning. There are more beers that I want to try. I do want to hit happy hour though. A little sticker shock when the bill arrived($ 14 for two beers). Again … This is Palm Beach.

I found the service to be slow but pleasant. The mussle appetizer was interesting but had a taste that made it less than suitable to me but others ate some without making mention. The sauted calimari I found just okay and that seemed to be the general overtone. Were it not for the bug in my chopped salad it may have been better. The fact that no one seemed to care made it all that much worse. Others in my party had the mac & cheese which was reported to be very good and the pork tacos which were good. I found the whole experience a bit lack luster and were it not for home made potato chips and the beer probably a disaster.

Oh man, I want to give this place 4 stars for even existing in West Palm Beach. In reality, though, the food is just ok and the beer selection is getting there but not amazing. I started out with a manhattan because I really needed a cocktail. I was definitely on the fence about ordering a cocktail, as this seems like a beer place, but the bartender made it well. When I was ready to move on to the next drink, I was happy to see that there was more than one dark beer option(even if there were only two). I ordered the honey mustard glazed salmon for dinner. The salmon itself was very good but the honey mustard was overwhelming. I had to scrape most of it off in order to taste the fish. The veggies and potatoes that came with it were very bland. They reminded me of banquet food. I love the staff’s enthusiasm, the chill atmosphere, and there are some intriguing small plates on the menu. It’s possible that I ordered wrong. In any case, I would definitely come back for some beers at the very least, and probably some snacks.

Sometimes first impressions can make or break an establishment. Luckily for Gratify, it didn’t. When the waiter came and asked us for our pre-brunch drink orders, I asked about the Bloody Mary, and was told that it was really good. It wasn’t. I don’t know what kind of mix or juice they use, but it was bad. So bad that I sent it back and got a beer instead. Luckily though, everything else turned out really good. The arugula flat bread appetizer had people fighting for the last piece. My fish tacos were full of flavor, and while I normally don’t like flour tortillas, these were warm and tender. Unexpected! I have it on good authority that the Cristo was tasty, and the salad was good too. The beer selection was good as well.

It has a really fun atmosphere with loud music and a great beer selection. It’s also right across the street from the Intercoastal waterway and only a block or two from Clematis St. where a bunch of bars are all grouped together. The salmon was delicious and they have Dale’s beer. I found it because they participate in the Hilton Honors Rewards Network. If you travel a lot, sign up and eat here for HH points.

Great location next to clematis at night action. Good beer selection and service! We talked to the Chef a few times with questions and he was polite and very willing to chat an discuss the food. Pork tacos were better than good but not amazing. Pork was crunchy but perfectly seasoned. Not enough spice for my taste bur you cant please everyone when it comes to spicy foods. Great banana chocolate desert wrapped in a wonton wrapper and deep fried topped with ice cream.

After walking around Clematis Street, we stumbled upon Gratify and thought we must come back. I think what sold me was the outdoor seating area. I hadn’t even looked at the menu yet, so that’s a bold statement for me. And speaking of the menu, I don’t enjoy how it’s just on Facebook. While you don’t need an account to access it, I think it could have been on their site as a PDF, but now I’m just being OCD. Anyways, we made a reservation for 7:00 on a Saturday evening for a party of 7 and there was no issue with getting one and outside at that! When we arrived, no one really brought us to our table they just said we were welcome to go out there. And of course the table was set for 7 so it was safe to assume it was ours. The atmosphere here was great! The lighting was perfect and the music was good and not too loud which was key. While we waited inside for the rest of the party, I induldged in a Shipyard Pumpkin beer, this time of year, anything pumpkin … sign me up! Our waiter, Rick friggin rocked! My fave part about it, he was so knowledgeable about the menu and more than willing to point you in the right direction of what to eat. We started the meal with two apps, the risotto balls and the palm cakes. We had to have the palm cakes because we had them at Darbster and well I wanted to compare the two. From what I heard, the risotto balls were outstanding! And the dipping sauce really accented the flavors of the cheese and crispy outside. The palm cakes were also delicious, while these were flash fried as well, I do feel the ones at Darbster had a little more flavor to them. For entrees, that night there was a few specials, and one happened to be a burger with blue cheese, peanut butter and onion rings. Both my brother and dad got this. While they thought it was a weird combo of flavors, the savory and sweet worked perfectly together. My mom and I split the the Scallop salad: 6 Large Scallops seared and served over fresh spinach, red onion, brie, strawberries & tossed in a raspberry-poppy seed viniagrette. The scallops were huge and had the most beautiful sear marks on them. The accents of the sweetness from the strawberries with the brie cheese was also quite the combination of flavors. This is a great dish to have and it can be passed off as an entrée for sure! We also had the honey Salmon: Pan-Seared Salmon glazed with stone ground mustard-Walker Farms honey served over roasted seasonal veggies & potatoes. This really wasn’t anything to rave about. I felt that the glaze could have been a little more potent and flavorful. My grandmother and cousin had the truffle mac and cheese with grilled chicken. At first, my grandmother wasn’t too into her’s and I think it’s because of the cheese’s they used. And even though its under the small plates part of the menu, with the added protein, this can also be passed off an as entrée. My grandfather had the Sage Seared Pork Chops: Thick cut Pork chop seared & topped with maple butter served with sweet potato purée and sauteed green beans. His plate was clean so I’m assuming he enjoyed it. He also made note that it was nicely prepared and not as tough as the pork chop he had from The Living Room. And since it was my cousins birthday we ordered dessert. They had a chocolate chip peanut butter pie on the menu and when Rick told us that, I think all of our eyes lit up! Needless to say we ordered two pieces. The peanut butter flavor wasn’t nearly as flavorful as the cheesecake from The Living Room. It was a good dessert and the crust really made it for me. Again, everything about this place, the location, the atmosphere and the food was excellent! I was very glad we stumbled across this place and then happened to give it a shot!

I’d probably say this is more 3 ½ stars. Love the ambiance of this place. Wasnt so sure on this place after my first visit so I’m glad I held off on my review. I’m sorry, but simply adding truffle oil to something doesnt make it the best thing you’ve put in your mouth, so yes, the mac n cheese is overrated. too overpowering for me. I usually get the shredded pork tacos or a burger. They have good beers but not enough. Only 3 or 4 on tap

Gratify is a solid three star place and a shaky four star establishment. The food is thoughtful and well prepared. I loved the veg sliders and enjoyed the flatbread. Food was well seasoned, good portions and unpretentious. I like the menu. The salad selections were not appealing and the sandwiches were nothing fancy, but still good. A The beer selection seems thoughtlessly thrown together. Could be a distributer issue but I doubt the owners are beer geeks like I’m used to in Seattle. Still, a dozen different craft brews in bottles is a heck of a lot better than most places on the east coast. Specials were great. Staff was super friendly. Those two factors push the place from mediocre to pretty darn good. Happy hour til eight also helps

This Gastro pub is gratifying gastronomical goodness. Now say that 10 times fast. Décor and ambiance is excellent; romantic yet cozy; chilled yet with a little bit of elegance. The scene is perfect for downtown west palm beach. Perfect for a date, happy hour, or catch up with friends that you haven’t seen for a while. Just a tip: if you are hungry, I’d advise you to get the«big plates.’ They have«small plates» which the waitress told us it can be shared amongst people but from the looks of it, they are not like tapas style. My friend ordered this scallop, which was considered a «small plate.» The waitress raved about it but when the dish came out, it was one(although big) scallop over sweet potato purée. It would have been fine but the plate was huge so it looked a bit dispassionate. My friends said it was good but she ended up eating the(awesome) complimentary chips. I got the seared duck(cooked medium) with roasted fingerling potato’s and a side of Chinese vegetables. The duck was tender, juicy, and sweet and the potatoes were roasted just right. Wish I could have had more of those Chinese veggies; they were flavored so well!

Fun, imaginative cuisine in a casual environment right in the heart of the new downtown waterfront. Truffle mac and cheese, potato skins, risotto balls… a comfort-foodie heaven. WIsh the menu would change from lunch to dinner or rotate more frequently… I am burned out. Always bring friends and visitors here since most downtown restaurants in this price range are unimpressive.

LOVED the food and atmosphere, it’s exactly what downtown West Palm Beach needs to be flooded with. However, the restaurant’s management and staff seems a bit unorganized and not customer focused. I’m all about customer service, it is was REALLY lacking. Not a fan of teammates that«ream» out each other and when the manager claims they already«did you a favor» by splitting the check.

My new favorite place in WPB! Great food, nice selection of beer and wine, good happy hour specials, and wonderful atmosphere. We’ve sampled most of the small plates; our favorites are the shrimp and grits, artichoke fritters, and risotto balls. The flat breads are also delicious(I’ve had both the olive one and the arugula one) and are more than enough for a meal. All day happy hour on Saturdays and Sundays, which gives my boyfriend a good chance to try out their selection of microbrews. Definitely make a point to try Gratify!
