After visiting many Mexican restaurants in my life, I consider myself a Mexican connosiour. Our waitress Casey got is everything we needed and more. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

A little nervous about the location but as soon as we walked in we felt like ‘regulars’. Had reservations and cancelled them to sit at the bar instead! Bartender was super attentive. Had cocktails in a flash and menus as quickly. He had no problem with us wanting to take our time and not ordering right away! I had eggplant rolatini(sp?) and my husband had salad with lobster. Both dishes were fabulous! To top it off we had a dessert consisting of vanilla ice cream, carmel, bacon, and pecans(yes, BACON). Fabulous dessert! The food was great… The staff was outstanding! Would definitely go back there again.

I’ll start by saying that I’m not a fan of the Northwood area, and this restaurant is not very close to our home so we are not quite regulars. When experimenting on the hot new place is not an option and a guaranteed enjoyable evening with a great meal is a must, we go to the Sunset Grill. The restaurant is small and has a very bohemian feel to it. The bar dominates the space and is located in the center of the restaurant. You can choose to dine at a table, booth or at the bar, but there is really not a bad seat in the house. The menu is full of choices and I highly recommend that you begin with the lobster bisque. I also recommend the blackened dolphin, the sunset crab cakes, the marsala pork chop special is delicious, and don’t hesitate ordering any steak because it will match or exeed the quality of any steak served at a fine steakhouse. The burgers are also out of this world and will satisfy any appetite. All of the desserts are wonderful but if the Pot d’ Crème is available, do not think of leaving without ordering one. This chocolate masterpiece is nothing short of amazing and is hands down my favorite dessert served anywhere !!! In closing, the food and the environment are great but what makes this place truly special are the people. Rarely have I felt as welcomed as I have in this place. They say positive energy is contagious, so thats the only explanation I can come up with why this place is such a happy place. From the hostess, to the servers, the bartenders(especially Nancy), and the manager, the staff really makes you feel like you’re special and their service is what sets this place a cut above. I wish I could give them 6 stars.

Very nice place nice crowd very friendly low key comfy nice bartender but when it came time to eat, I was blown away. I had mussels marinara fra diablo over angel hair and it was amazing. I am very particular about my fra diablo and this was as good as the best I have ever had. Hot, delicious bread, just perfect. And very reasonable. Will definitely be back.

Just noticed I did not review on Unilocal. This place has it all. From friendly staff to very unique and delicious food. The décor is inviting and warm. It is high end with out the stuffiness. I love it. Everything on the dessert menu is top notch and again, unique. It changes constantly so try them when you can. The hummingbird cake is a staple. Delicious! The Filet is probably my favorite dinner food. Oh and the bread! Warm and tasty. They are open for lunch and I frequent this place often. The lunch specials are exactly that. Special! Everything cooked to perfection with again, I have to mention it, a very unique spin. The burgers and the wraps are my favorites. And yes, I have tried quite a few of them. Great local vibe and inviting to out of towners. This is a must. Visited July 2015

One of the best bars/restaurants in West Palm Beach! Nancy is the best bartender ever and the food is consistently high quality for a really good price. Ambiance is nice as well: elegant with some Florida kitsch. I always take my family here when they come to visit…Christmas is especially fun there.

This restaurant is so much fun! The food is great! It’s located in the cutest area called Northwood where there are plenty of shops and other great restaurants as well! I recommend this restaurant to all my friends and clients you can’t go wrong!

Stopped in while here on business. I had their express lunch deal which was a half a turkey wrap and cup of split pea soup. I could taste how fresh the tomatoes and vegetables on the turkey wrap. The split pea soup was great and thanks to the nice recommendation of the staff, the oyster crackers made it just right. Atmosphere was awesome with the most friendly staff serving. I would recommend stopping here for a nice meal and a good wine selection when visiting West Palm Beach, Florida.

Went here last night for the first time and what a real treat. Atmosphere is a cool casual and the food is amazing. Vegetable Lasagne melts in your mouth, veal was cooked to perfection and plenty of great fresh seafood to choose from. Reasonable prices and a perfect place to go on a date or a big group.

Was in town on business and was working a few blocks away in a industrial area that wasn’t the nicest area in the world. Funny how when you cross the railroad tracks everything seems much cleaner and nicer. We went here completely blind, no one told us about the place, we only stopped for lunch because there were a lot of cars out front. Very cool little place with a very inviting dining and bar area. We sat down and were greeted by a very friendly server. We both ordered the fast lunch combo which was the half turkey wrap and chicken corn chowder. The menu wasn’t lying, we were served our food quickly. The plate came with a large«cup» of soup(more like a bowl) and the wrap with some grapes, a slice of cantaloupe and cole slaw. The wrap wasn’t anything mind blowing but was good, the soup tasted more like chicken gumbo than corn chowder, but was really good. The cole slaw was very good, I believe it has wasabi in it ? We are going back tomorrow for lunch and anytime we’re in the area in the future.

I have been dining for both lunch and dinner at the Sunset since they opened. I have never had a bad meal in fact this is the only place my husband doesn’t put ketchup on his meatloaf. This is the place we celebrate birthdays and anniversaries and other special occasions. The owners are fantastic and their staff is always upbeat and accommodating Get the black and blue burger cooked perfect. My favorite meal is chicken Marsala And my husband always has the filet. Try if you can to save room for desert. Just try always a nice selection but get the crème brûlée yum! The inside has a real artsy eclectic vibe and on some weekend nights there is a great local jazz singer.

Trendy, eclectic, a little dark but fun. Came here with friends after already eating somewhere else… I tried the gazpacho which I found to be oily and a bit tasteless. Others in my party had a 3 star experience. One ordered the Ahi Tuna Steak diner and was presented with the appetizer portion instead. Another ordered the Mac & Cheese which was was good. The forth ordered the Mahi Caesar salad which was tasty but the fish was dry however the fish was seasoned well.

I’ve gone here a few times, and all but one trip was perfect. The drinks are always delicious, I love the vibe and décor of the restaurant, and the wait usually isn’t terribly long, though it can get fairly long on Friday/Saturday nights. The specials are always fantastic and the different desserts; the blackened dolphin wrap, the Asian chicken salad, and the chocolate bread pudding are my three favorite things I’ve gotten there. Normally, service is somewhat slow, but not too bad, and friendly. My only complaints are the one less than ideal trip we had there, many things we wrong– fiancée ordered a well-done burger and received one completely pink in the center, and the server didn’t check on us for more than 15 minutes for him to get a new burger(who I assume was the owner came out to apologize though). I had the lobster wrap, which I’d had before and it is normally fantastic; this time the sauce was very runny though, making the wrap soggy and fall apart. It still tasted good, but it made quite a mess and was difficult to eat. Then, the owner brought out bread and sat it on the table, that was actually intended for another table– so, the server came over and grabbed the bread and put it on another table(I’m no expert, but I’d venture to say serving food that you don’t know if another customer touched it or not is a health code violation of some sort… And if it’s not it should be). After my fiancée finally got his burger made correctly, the server didn’t check on us the rest of the time, except to bring the check. I hope that server is gone, so he doesn’t continue to tarnish an otherwise lovely restaurant. Overall, I’d recommend this place for a date night, or a small lady’s night(it’s too small to be really good for big groups, in my opinion).

Great restaurant, but not exactly ‘perfect’. I’ve been here twice within the past year with my boyfriend and felt the need to give this place a review. Although the location isn’t my favorite and the parking area off in the back seemed kind of risky to me, the restaurant is overall a fun place to go for dinner. On both occasions we experienced fast and friendly service from our waiter/server and the atmosphere is fun, cute, cozy and inviting. I especially like observing the paintings on the walls. Both my boyfriend and I were very pleased with our appetizers, dinner and dessert. The Blackened Mahi Caesar Salad was excellent as the fish itself was seasoned cooked to perfection. If you’re a fan of banana desserts, the banana cheesecake is a must try. Now, here are some minor issues(in my opinion) that bugged me a little and perhaps shouldn’t have, but if I don’t include them in the review, it will bug me even more. On both times that we went, we did not make reservations. First time was alright, we were greeted by the same young man who was our waiter and we sat at a table off to the corner which we liked, until we noticed a few sugar ants crawling around on the table which turned me off quite a bit and we asked to be seated somewhere else. Our waiter quickly sat us at another table and our experience was fine from there on. The second time we went, as soon as we walked in the door we were immediately halted by a lady who seemed like either a manager or owner, who pointed at us and asked if we had made reservations. We said ‘no, we didn’t’ and she told us to ‘wait off to the side’. Just moments later, another couple came in who were probably regulars because they were warmly greeted by the same woman and were seated right away. Perhaps they had reservations, I’m not sure, but the night and day contrast in the way we were spoken to secretly irked me a bit. After she sat us at a table(so close to the entrance that we might as well have been seated outside, at least then we wouldn’t see everyone’s butts facing us as they walked in and waited to be seated) — our dinner was good and we had the same friendly waiter as the last time. In conclusion, I did have a good experience aside from the couple issues and I would still recommend it… and still look forward to coming back, mostly because of the food and ambiance.

Very cute atmosphere, extremely friendly staff. Service is a bit slow but it’s only because they are so busy with a small staff. If you want a relaxing, delicious meal, then try this place out. Chef presents creative new tastes and pairings. Also, the desert menu has much more variety that most places. I’ve already been to this place twice in a week. Unique, boutique, delicious.

I’m conflicted about this review. The restaurant itself was small, cute, and had a great vibe. Lovely music both live and electronic all night. Even the bathroom was fun to go into! But too many weird things happened that affect my review — some the restaurant had control over, and some, not so much… To start off, my GPS sent me there a very wacky way. I ended up driving down small back streets at dusk in a dicey part of town. I was uncomfortable and it all felt wrong. Signs weren’t apparent on the building, so when I got to the restaurant, I didn’t really believe I was there; it felt like the middle of nowhere. When I called for directions, I told them I was lost and a bit rattled that my GPS had taken me so far astray. Their response? «Do you have reservations?» WTF? I’m LOST! Help please! So I ended up walking into the restaurant annoyed and embarrassed(the phone answerer didn’t seem to take me too seriously…). In my defense, when the rest of my party arrived late(three cars worth), they had all gotten lost, too(and had GPS devices). When we were seated, I ended up on a wooden pew-like bench that rocked — alot. I asked the waiter if that was on purpose, or if the bench was broken. He said it was broken and didn’t seem all that concerned. No offers for a new chair. The two of us had to balance at times… But stayed seated there for the duration. When I got there, we had requested a specific table, that we didn’t get. Not a big deal, but the restaurant was empty, and they didn’t have our table ready either — I had to sit at the bar(and Yes, I did have reservations). When we got our food, mine was the biggest disappointment. I ordered the special of the day(was it the special because they were trying to get rid of it before it spoiled?). It was red snapper. Everything else was great on my plate but the snapper. At first I thought I just didn’t like red snapper, until everyone else tried it. The thought was that it was either overcooked, previously frozen, or old. It was rubbery and had an unpleasant texture. It did allow for additional conversation! There were positives, and lots of them — loved the wine list, the apps were great(especially the artichoke and spinach dip — although the chips served with it left something to be desired), everyone else’s meal was wonderful — the sesame ahi tuna was superb. And the chocolate sin cake was to die for(it’s worth a star all on it’s own). The only other weird thing(that they corrected immediately), was the bill. There were six of us; all paid with cash except me. The bill was in the mid $ 200 range, and one of the guys figured it all out, including tip. My part was $ 60. When we paid, they took the cash, and then charged me the total bill — $ 276 — on my Visa. As I said, they quickly fixed it. I don’t live in the area and don’t know what the competition is. As a local place, I’d probably support it, but except for the company of old friends, and lots of wine, I wouldn’t call the dining experience wonderful. Let’s stick with a-ok.
