Food was delicious. The bread was outstanding and the cold cuts were very fresh. Had the rice balls, too. Vince took our order and he was amazing. I went back to the counter to have my sandwich wrapped and buy another bottled water and I waited forever for someone to acknowledge me and take my $ 1.50. And when the guy did, he barely looked at me. Vince can’t be the only good guy with communication & customer skills.

Let me start off by saying the food is amazing! Everything we ordered was superb! Better than the food is the service. Tammy was super nice and friendly, even gave us extra garlic knots on the house. Definitely have to stop by here when you’re in the area, I know I will again! Thanks Tammy!

I have had catering for Super Bowl’s I’ve had dinners all the time with Tommy’s and I absolutely love their food my kids love the chicken fingers and they think they have the best honey mustard in the whole entire world. I have never been disappointed with the service, and the food. If you are in the Woodland park area please give Tommy’s a chance because you will not be disappointed at all.

Again another disappointing customer service experience at Tommy’s. Picked up my order to find out that the sick worker(read:clogged ears) misunderstood my order… and then proceeded to be pissed off that she was inconvenienced. Never mind that I’m the paying customer who is inconvenienced… why oh why are he sandwiches delicious?! A&S in woodland park is closer, but not as good. Tommy’s, please get your act together.

All I have to say is that this the place that I will get my authentic Italian Subs from now on! Hands down one of the few treasures in NJ. Favorite is The Godfather! Have had dinner here as well– Veal Saltimbocca. Veal was fresh from the butcher portion of the store and cooked to order. Spinach and prosciutto with the mozzarella. The sauce on this entrée however although ok can be much better made. It needs to be thickened up a bit and more flavor added would make this entrée very good! Try the stuffed bread this is also made fresh to order. Have had the sausage one and it was yummy. A side of marinara would have made it even better. Only complaint was the coupon clipped from the local paper that was very mis-leadingly stated as being the discounted price for the stuffed bread but when at the store and ordered, I was informed that that was actually the price per pound of the stuffed breads. Next thing to try on my list is the pizza. Especially the personal size Quattro Stagioni! I love pizza and have eaten this type of pizza in Venice Italy and in Helsinki, Finland. Yes Helsinki has awesome pizza, this coming from an original Jersey Gal. I hope they don’t disappoint!

Food is amazing but the hours are wrong. Sun closes at 3 not 3:30, just learned that when trying to call for pickup at 3:05.

Wow what a great place. The staff are all friendly in a quant Italian deli. I had the godfather and my wife had the meatball and brother and sisterinlaw had pastrami. We shared and all were to die for. And the bread was wonderful. This restaurant is «slap your mama good»

We were kindly guided to this deli from a very friendly jersey native park ranger guarding the Paterson falls. The historic park was what brought me to this particular area and we were hungry for a good hearty sub. Tommy’s screams Italian food as soon as you walk in. From the pizzeria counter to the dozens of fresh subs, there’s something for everybody here. I tried a sandwich called the Mezzina. It was served on delicious toasted ciabatta bread, with turkey, Swiss, arugula, and honey mustard. The 8inch was more than enough to fill me up. I had a side of their tomato and mozzarella salad. The side dishes all looked so delicious and freshly prepared. My friend had a sandwich called the Cowboy, which looked amazing. It had breaded chicken cutlets, Mozzarella, and a whole bunch of other goodies. We were served fast with friendly service. Loved the environment and family feeling of this deli. Food was great. Would definitely recommend.

Ahh… traveling across the US of A, we had time for but one meal in New Jersey. Pretty much everything in the media had led me to believe that NJ was the armpit of the nation. I suppose that may be true in certain parts, but our primarily I-80 trip doesn’t support that notion. Wife looked up Tommy’s Taste of Italy in our quest for a true NJ meal. If this place is representative of Jersey, then: 1) People don’t like to work past 3 on Sundays 2) Damn good subs can be produced, albeit slowly 3) Cashiers play out the stereotype 4) Commercial and Residential can mix without everybody losing their cool. Can’t say I’ll ever visit this area again, but if by chance I do, I’ll be back.

Let me start off by saying this is the second time, I have been here and always the same horrible experience. Today I went at about 10:30 to pick up a Yankee Clipper(veal, mozz, peppers). Well there were about 8 people behind the counter and no acknowledgement till about 5 minutes in. Finally someone took my order, the same person that took my order was talking to staff, doing absolutely everything else but making my sandwich. After about 10 minutes, I left. I really hope they made the sandwich, at least I’ll get some justice that way. Never again

I dont live too close to here to eat here but when i worked next storw, it was my go to spot for anything Italian. The sandwhiches are super fresh(my fav is the chicken, arugula, mozzarella, roasted pepper panini called the Torino). But my ultimate guilty pleasure that destroys all hope to keep a slim figure is the tortellini Alfredo with garlic knots. I literally make sure i prepared to fall asleeo after this carb loaded delight! Price is fair too but parking is an issue around lunch time and with very good reason. I have more to explore in this place but i cant get past the torino or tortellini. Also, if its busy, it will take well past 30 min to fet a sandwich so call ahead!

Alright so I tried a few more subs from this place and have come to the conclusion that they might make the best subs in the tri-state area. I know Graham ave deli got all the hype and I can definitively say that this place is better. By a healthy margin. It’s unfortunate that this place is so out of the way, but it has a permanent home in my navigation system so whenever I’m in the area, I will stop by.
