Baked gnocchi and Bloody Mary! Great dinner choice. I love love love this place. Food is so tasty, the service has always been good when I was there, and I love how family oriented it is. If you haven’t eaten here yet, you need to ASAP!

My sister and I, long time residence of WS, thought hey, we’ve never eaten in Vince’s let’s go see what that’s about. It’s been here a long time, it must have something going for itself. Unfortuantely, it’s from a by gone era like the Pleasant Club but darker and foreboding. No one else was there so we were seated right away. The service was horrible and the food was just standard fare and nothing out of the ordinary. The waitress didn’t wear a name tag, nor did she introduce herself. She didn’t mention any of the specials. When the water came she didn’t bring straws. I ordered a beer and she didn’t bring a glass. I ordered the steak dinner cooked medium, when it came out it was rare, so I sent it back. When it came back it was still under cooked. She never came back to see if I liked it. My sister and I were both very hungry and was debating on leaving or not at this point. To top it off, we couldn’t understand her when she did speak. I believe the meals came with a dessert but we weren’t offered one. Needless, to say we will not be patronizing Vince’s again.

A family favorite! We always stop by when we are in the area. The food is great and atmosphere is very nostalgic. The staff is incredibly kind and friendly. Prices are great. Good for groups. The steak and sandwich is a personal favorite. Good specials too.

Garlic bread was hot dog buns with butter and powder sprinkled on it. Lasagna was very flat, messy, and swimming around in a round pie tin as it was togo. No togo bags, gave me an old tomatoe box… wtf

I have not been here for decades. No changes in appearance or in the quality of service — they were fabulous. With a group of 17 ordered from the banquet dinner menu and were impressed with the quality of food. Prime Rib was excellent, the soup was out of this world. Thank you Rossi family for delivering an impressive dining experience in comfortable setting.

I like old established places and this place is 50 years old but I didn’t find it to be as special as others seem to find it. I found the Minestrone soup to be mediocre with a peppery taste. The half steak sandwich, which is two 4 ounce pieces of steak tasted good but was a tad chewy. I presume the more expensive cuts were better. My wife liked the cannelloni.

Last night I took 23 people to this restaurant. I had been told that they had changed ownership since I was last here and the place had gone down hill. Well, I’m happy to say this was not the case. My steak was exactly what I had in mind when I ordered it. The waitress, Josie was friendly, helpful and efficient. All in all a good experience with a good crowd.

Josie is awesome. She greeted us immediately, her timing was impeccable, and the food was excellent. Everything came out in the perfect order. I’m a slow eater but with two kids, Josie put in our order perfectly.

Showed up here on a Monday night at 9:15 after hitting a bar up downtown. Closing time was 9:30, despite our near tardiness they still showed my girlfriend and I a seat in the dining area. Service was awesome and the food was amazing. Felt like home cooking with a nice setting and a fancy feel to it. I ordered the ribeye and ravioli while my girl ordered the Bay Shrimp Fettuccine. Steak was one of the best I’ve had; comparable to Cattlemen’s steakhouse. My dish was a special for $ 20 which you can’t beat. The soup and salad filled us up and we were able to take our main dishes home after what felt like only a few bites. Since it was my girlfriends birthday I pulled the waiter to the side and asked for a candle in the ice cream. They not only surprised her with that but also had a couple waiters sing happy birthday while bringing it to the table lol. Epic! This place really made an exception in letting us in late and made the night memorable. Thanks guys :)

Absolutely delicious! My husband and I usually go to Club Pheasant, but decided to try here tonight. Boy are we glad we did. This blew our regular«fancy» place out of the water. The steaks were cooked to perfection. Super juicy and tender. The tortellini with marinara was to die for. We ordered their steak special. It’s soup, salad, a baked potato, a pasta, and a steak for each person for only $ 39. Plus two glasses of wine and ice cream for dessert! The waitress was wonderful too. I felt like we ate a 5 star restaurant meal. Definitely making this our date night place.

Still good… except the fried mushrooms were a little underseasoned. Think they need a fancier presentation, too, since they look the same as they did in 1976. Gotta say the deep dark meat sauce for the spaghetti still hits the right notes.

Decided to go to Vince’s with my brother-friend, who told me a story that seemed too fantastic to believe — — about a 16 Oz filet mignon dinner, bacon-wrapped and all. It was a true story. So, so good. Exceptional service and so much food… A+!!

It has been several years since we visited Vince’s. The physical looks of the place are the same, but the quality of the food was dropped to an unacceptable depth with the exception of the minestrone, which was wonderful. We came on St. Patrick’s Day which was unintended since I had business in Sacramento on that particular day. The special was corned beef and cabbage. Seriously! This is supposed to be an Italian restaurant. Everytime someone ordered corned beef we could hear the waitress rush out and exclaim, «I have another one.» My lasagna was a large helping, but just looked unattractive. The ricotta cheese seemed to melt out and created an unappealing pinkish sauce. The taste was not much better. The wife ordered spinach gnocchi. What arrived at the table was potato gnocchi. She did not want to send it back since she thought it would be just fine. Wrong! She told me that the gnocchi was hard and definitely not house made. The spumoni was good. Vince’s used to be one of our favorites about 15 years ago, not anymore.

The best Italian food I’ve had in Sacramento. I ordered the homemade spinach gnocchi with alfredo and meat sauce and it was amazing! My husband and son ordered the homemade beef ravioli and it was equally awesome! Generous amount of food for the prices. We will deifintely return.

The minestrone is the best I have had in Sacramento, but I was sold a veal«cutlet» that turned out to be ground veal(it really could have been ground anything) that was battered(definitely not«breaded») and deep-fried. I am not one to complain, so I choked half the meal down with the aid of liqour and A-1 sauce. Yes, A-1 actually improved the meal. I read a few reviews that indicated Vince’s has«old school» charm. This place has all the old school charm of brittle bones, dementia, and a colostomy bag. If you want soup, eat at Vince’s; if you want good Italian food, drive to Davis. Dined there again 2 years after review: yep, soup is still good with the same old school charm.

My sister and I were pleasantly surprised! The prim rib sandwich was AWSOME!!! So was the minestrone soup. Everything was home made. The service fantastic. Family owned and operated since 1964. It’s worth the visit.

I would say, the way the food is served, makes this place seemingly like a more«mature» version of Old Spaghetti Factory. Pros: I ordered the Salmon dinner special. The salmon tasted fresh, and was cooked well. The baked potato, while seemingly basic, was cooked perfectly(I have had a number of potatos cooked poorly in a number of restaurants). The bread was good, and the minestrone soup was good in its own right. A plethora of food, and a scoop of ice cream was included. So, why a star off? Cons: This meal was carboloading at best… along with a baked potato, I also got a side order of pasta that comes with the dinner. This is not too bad, as I am not diabetic nor am I overweight. However, being an Italian restaurant, I would hope the fettucini alfredo would be seasoned better. The noodles were cooked well enough, but the actual alfredo sauce had seemingly no flavor. Perhaps I should try a different type, as I will happily return. Also, our waitress was very laid back(in a good way). She was joking around, but let us do our relaxation over dinner thing. I unfortunately can’t recall her name at this time, but she told us that her shift was ending because she was about to begin Karaōke.

Fantastic Old School Italian. Swore I saw Pesci and DeNiro at end of the bar when we walked in. Dated décor but adds to the Charm. Servers were like family. Wonderfully attentive. The food was fantastic. Chicken was wonderful. Ribeye sandwiches were off the charts. Lasagna was too much for even this lasagna lover to finish. Don’t skip the Minestrone!!! Cool old school place.

Location — on Harbor across from 76 gas station. The restaurant looks like it is connected to a motel(maybe same owner?) Parking — private lot but crowded with the motel guests. Service — good. Waitress was nice and checked in with us multiple times. Bread didn’t arrive right away but she apologized for that. Drinks came out quick. What impressed me was how she made sure the kids food came out right away so they didn’t have to wait. Food– good Italian American. The soup was homemade which I like. The bread was plain. The salad was ok but dressing was delicious. The steak was really good. I would have liked to see garlic bread — that would have topped it off. Décor — you are not coming in here for its appearance. The outside and inside looks old but I think the owners intended it that way. You walk in and the atmosphere is nostalgic. Price — you get alot of food. Soup, salad, main course and dessert. It’s a good deal. I can see why they have a lot of repeat or regular customers.
