Fantastic coffee, food, service, environment. Great to meet up with friends or quietly work on your own. Will be back again when in the area!

Absolutely HEAVEN! Every aspect of a café you can expect to rate they’ve surpassed the scoring. Coffee, knowledge of coffee beans, food/options, service, ambiance/décor, etc… I NEVER order«regular» fried eggs when I go out for breakfast. It has to be an omelette of some sort. I gave this place a try… nothing regular about it. The fried eggs were out of this world(I did order it with a side of goat cheese just because i love goat cheese… yummm) and don’t let me get started on their thick sliced bacon. Also this was the first time I didn’t put butter or jelly on my toast! Their Berkshire sourdough toast was absolutely delicious in every way, perfect amount of crunch and taste by itself! I can right a whole blog on how delicious the mocha latte was but suffice to say, Heavenly. My husband ordered the Belgium waffle breakfast with nutella(accompanied by berries of different types and grapes!), mouth watering, filling, delicious. Lastly, FINALLY!!! the shakeratoooo!!! It was like we were back in Rome, Italy!!! Please please open a clone of this place closer to home!

It is pricey, but it’s a nice atmosphere, and they roast their own coffee, which is great. I had a Belgian waffle with fruit, Nutella and real maple syrup. Delicious! I didn’t eat all of the waffle though, because it was a little dry. That’s to be expected with most waffles, though.

Great little find in the Berkshires. We were fans of the wonderful way they have preserved an old train station – the tables, benches, pillows and dinnerware is all high quality and adds quite a bit of charm. Got the granola parfait – a dish of which I am an *expert* – and thoroughly enjoyed the well-thought-out portions of the granola//yogurt//fruit. The line was a bit slow and unmoving, perhaps there was a problem at the register we couldn’t see, but nothing that was truly annoying. I would recommend leaving the little numbers at the tables even after you get your food because sometimes you also get drinks for the same number, which caused a little confusion. Overall the servers and employees were all pleasant, welcoming, and accommodating. Great service.

Needed a place for lunch and the reviews look good. Both of us had a great lunch. Pork in on sandwich perfectly cooked, fall apart, amazing. The beef in mine, tender you could cut it with a spoon, also amazing. Side salad well dressed perfection. Now to try the coffee!

This place is the best! It is a café and coffee roaster. The coffee is amazing. I always get a cup, and ground coffee to take home. My favorite is «The Sun also Rises,» a medium roast, Central American blend. The food is the real surprise! It may sound strange to say the fried eggs are amazing, but they are! They also have delicious pastries, including«bocaditos,» little chocolate filled pieces of heaven. I just wish the hours were longer. They are closed Tuesdays, and on other days they close at 4.

A former train station(as it seems), this more than cozy and communal eatery with coffee is not your average rest stop. The service was speedy and the food was a thumbs up. The Spanish Tortilla with a sprinkle of real bacon was muy delicioso ! The potatoes were sliced fry style and a little undercooked to give off a crunchy taste. And the a dab of maple syrup gave it a Berkshire twist. Claim your seats swiftly as the establishment busies very quickly.

I really enjoyed the lunch here. Service is very friendly. They have really nice salads and paninis. But the coffee-truly outstanding and I am someone who loves coffee. I bought some to take home for gifts to friends.

Ugh, why are all the truly great coffee shops in Massachusetts like an hour away from where I live??? West Stockbridge may be one of the smallest towns in the state, but it has managed to produce some truly exceptional coffee. Six Depot is located in an old train station(get it??) that also includes an art gallery/community space. The main space with the counter and seating area is appropriately funky. There’s a big communal table with smaller seating areas around the edges. The light fixtures are very strange; they kind of look like giant sun hats. The cappuccino here is strong. Possibly the strongest cappuccino I’ve ever had. If you put sugar in your coffee, order something else. This is bitter in the best way, but very smooth. I’m not ready to call this the best cappuccino I’ve ever had, but it was pretty damn good. The food menu looks great, although I didn’t get to try any since I was here for a party in the gallery space that provided its own food.

This is one of my very favorite places in the Berkshires. The owner is a wonderful man who often works side-by-side with his staff, who are by their own right, really great. Their food is always excellent, their pastries delectable, and their art-community concept is welcome. I always take visitors here, and every time they do not disappoint. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is the rather small portions for the price. I won’t choose Six if I’m hungry, cold, and really want a hearty breakfast. It’s not hearty, but it’s excellent.

This place is a real gem in the Berkshires. Fresh roasted coffee, table-side pour-over, delicious baked goods, and an extensive food menu with craft beer on tap to boot! One of the owners was present and working hard on a Sunday morning, ringing up customers between roasting batches of coffee! I highly recommend their Yirgacheffe pour-over, and the espresso had nice body and flavor. As a coffee professional I must say this is an excellent alternative to the many Barrington coffee cafes which seem to dominate the area.

Over rated for sure. Yes, atmosphere is okay but food is a gamble. I ordered the kale salad and it was just KALE nothing else and it was old and dry. Soup was decent but overall food was disappointing.

I love coffee. I love food. I love ingenious, quirky, funky little places where I can enjoy both. Six Depot is that and so much more. Located in the oldest train station in the berkshires, Six Depot is unique not only in location but also in concept and execution. The café area can get extremely loud depending on the mean age of the visitors, however, you can easily step into the gallery for a quiet respite to enjoy your coffee, breakfast or lunch. I was in a simple kind of mood for breakfast so I opted for the fried eggs, mountain bread and bacon(of the sea I guess since I subbed my meat with smoked salmon which was deliciously savory). In this case less was more! The eggs were perfectly fried and seasoned and paired well with my substitution. My husband opted for the Spanish tortilla and a chocolate croissant. The chocolate was nicely melted and had a great flavor. In terms of the tortilla– I’d skip it next time. So it turns out we basically spent all day here with a brief hiatus to go hiking because we came back for lunch!-Yea, we liked this place. We mostly came back because there were sandwiches that caught our eyes. I had to try the chicken mechado and my husband’s interest was piqued by the Chivito. The pulled chicken was delicious and topped with the«Miami» salsa, my only qualm was the arugula– but that’s more personal preference. We ended our meal(and day basically) with some of their ice cream! They have 3 different coffee flavors along with salted caramel(that day). This is definitely worth a try! I had the Sumatra blend ice cream and it paired very well with my salted caramel(and I barely like coffee flavored ice cream). Although this one stop shop is tucked away in West Stockbridge it’s a perfect pit stop for those day tripping though the Berkshires or on a foliage drive. Great for a coffee break, quick breakfast or lunch, and the staff was quite friendly.

I love my coffee and am very picky about it. Coming from the coffee mecca of the north west and having owned a coffee stop … you get how picky I am. The atmosphere is great! A warm and welcome greeting with a cozy, artsy home feel. Great location in a small quaint town. The food is great! The quality of the ingredients makes this place excellent. Extra thick bacon with flavor to die for, coupled with local eggs that taste like eggs and fresh toasted bread with real butter… Yummy! I have yet to find a coffee I love in MA… Sorry. I like the half and half steamed to 135 degrees and don’t let my shots sit for more than a few seconds. The effort is there. However I think they are offended that I am so specific in how I want my coffee made. I like the milk creamed with steam to the point where the sugars have sweetened, not burned… the first sip should be sweet with a smooth coffee finish. It’s a little too hot and the finish is bitter. I go about twice a month hoping they will listen to my coffee request, while enjoying the food and friendly service… Would it be rude if I went behind the counter and made my own coffee! HAHAHA… I so want to.

2.5 stars. Nice looking spot with possibility to eat outside however the food is quite bland. Had scrambled eggs with salmon. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good. The OJ is freshly squeezed but is quite bland also. Nothing to exciting about this nice little coffee shop.

Serious about coffee and stacked with Colson Patisserie croissants from Brooklyn? That’s four stars right there. But they also made a seriously groovy fried eggs, bacon and toast breakfast with thick cut bacon cooked cracker crisp, just how I like it. Kudos to them for having a dark roast blend(Heart of Darkness) in this era where«serious» coffee drinkers have shunned the popular dark roasts for brighter more idiosyncratic lighter beans. I tried one hoping that maybe it would rise up to the heights of Philz coffee in SF. But that’s really not a fair bar to measure anyone else against. Everything looked delicious. But I need to go back and put their espresso drinks to the test. It’s very likely this is a five-star place. However, I didn’t want to save my gushing comments until I find a way to get out to the Berkshires again. That said, next time I’m out, Six Depot has earned a spot on my must-stop list. Even if that’s just for a shot of espresso. It’s great to see places like this packed and doing well. It gives me hope for the future of coffee in this country.

Not really my cup of coffee. If one considers that Folgers or Dunkin Donuts might be a mild American roast and Starbucks or Barrington might be a dark fuller roast, consider this roast to be more on the fringe; something like comparing pepper heat and likening it to the end of the spectrum such as a Habanero Pepper. A few will be able to appreciate this roast. Great bacon.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this little gem on a backroads trip across NY and Mass. I stopped in for a nice little beer and the smoked salmon sandwich. The arugula salad was A+ and the sandwich was delicious! I would have stayed for a second beer if I hadn’t been driving. Bus your own table and then enjoy the art of Linda Baker-Cimini.

Good spot for a quick bite. I got the pork sandwich, which comes with a side salad and potato chips. I also tried the chicken and rice soup, which was absolutely delicious. They have a separate room that is an art gallery where you can sit down and eat. Very cute and quaint café.

This was our first time here, we had come to purchase coffee beans. We had heard the owner participating in a talk show on WAMC and we were interested in trying some of their different roasted blends. It being a very beautiful day, there were plenty of people who came here for more than just coffee. Yes, they also have different teas for purchase and some muffins and pastries too. People were also enjoying breakfast dishes and soups, salads, and Panini both inside and on the patio. There is even an art gallery in one section of the building. There was a long line of customers waiting to place their order at the counter. I inquired if it was also necessary to wait in line to purchase whole bean coffee since there were only three prepackaged bags on the display shelf. A young lady helping to get orders from the kitchen to the customers at the cash register, initially said yes, but then said she could still take my order. I mentioned that my wife was already in line and we were willing to follow the norm, but she insisted on taking our order now and measuring out our beans. There are about 18 different packaged coffee blends available and an equal number of teas. Our choice for coffee beans on this trip were the Indian Monsoon Malabar($ 1/oz.) and the Blue Velvet Blend($ 1/oz.). So far, my wife prefers the Malabar with its light roast, relatively low acidity, and smooth body. I, on the other hand, really enjoy the Blue Velvet which blends the Malabar with the Ethiopia Amaro Gayo beans for a slightly darker roast with low acidity and a very smooth body. I see more trips to here in our future.
